An X-ray of the Potency of the Law of God

Transcript Excerpt

The first work that everyone must do in the word of God is that he must be built as a house. When one is built in the image of the Son of God, then one is ready for His law. The beauty of the law is that sometimes God does not wait for you to be built a house before He starts giving you laws.

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7). The law is a converter, to convert that which has been built into spirits. God’s intention is an upgrade, because you cannot worship God except in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). The law of God also prescribes ordinances of worship. Ordinances are lines – how service and worship of God must be done.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2). This mind undergoing renewal is a spiritual mind. In Christ Jesus, though the mind is spiritual, it must be renewed. It must be renewed because of what they want to use the mind for. It is time for that mind to begin to handle the things of the covenant and testimony. The law of God alone can transform the mind, and that is what the law of everlasting life is to come for – to culture the mind again.

The law of the Lord converts the soul (Ps. 19:7). However, you have to serve with the law for conversion to take place. As we serve God with the law of our mind, our flesh will undergo conversion. In Christ, we are set free from the law of sin and death, but we are not yet converted. What heaven really wants to do is not just to set us free, but to convert us from flesh to spirit. It is the law of the truth of God that converts from flesh to spirit. “Flesh” here is not referring to the body.

No flesh can do the commandments in the epistles. For example, flesh does not rejoice in tribulations; flesh would rather murmur, complain or grumble. The reason we obey these injunctions in the epistles only for a short while is because laws have not been installed inside of us. Peter said that while Jesus was reviled, He never reviled back (1 Pet. 2:23). That is the law of conversion at work. Jesus was no longer flesh, He was spirit.

Flesh is not about what we say; it can be in our disposition. It is not even about works of the flesh but about filthiness of spirit. Sometimes, flesh is in our demeanor. When we go through seasons of pressure and we allow ourselves to be downcast with no excitement in our souls despite having the Holy Ghost in us, that is flesh. Spirits do not behave like that. We only behave like that because the law of God has not yet converted us.

“Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:1). Flesh cannot keep this commandment except there is a law of everlasting life that brings conversion. What such a soul needs is transformation. In our pain and pressure, heaven wants us to bring forth living sacrifices. These are the sacrifices that must arise that will call for covenant to be enacted. If a man is not yet like that, he cannot be enjoined to covenant (Heb. 9:19-20).

Some people feel that God has abandoned them because they are above 40 and are yet to be married. That is a place of sacrifice. Those are places God has allowed for everlasting sacrifice to come up. God wants to receive living sacrifices from souls that are living.

Adam was alone in the garden but he never thought he needed a wife. That reality is something we must enjoy in our journey to God. It will become a testimony registered before angels and spirits that there are souls that are now living. The way Adam did not know that he needed a wife, so also must a people arise in the churches that that same reality will be programmed in their minds and their hearts. That is how we record victories. That is how the devil knows that we have escaped the corruption that is the world through lust.

Satan has married idolatry with things that are legitimate. He has worked so much till he found legitimacy. If you happen to be different from what he has prescribed, people wonder what kind of person you are.

God wants to convert as many people into spirit. When we become spirits, we would execute God’s work the way angels that are spirits do (Ps. 103:20). When God builds His image and puts His Spirit in us, it is to convert us because God wants us to come and generate serious works. Those who can do the second work and those who can do quick work are not going to do it sluggishly. That is why the image of God and the law of God in the soul is for conversion and transformation. It is for converting many from flesh to spirit.

God will never make covenant with flesh, but with a soul that is becoming spiritual, that is, spirit, because God is a spirit. Conversion to spirit is necessary because the next arrangement of works you will do must be quick work. You do quick work and short work. The things of the testimony are quick. You must be doing it quickly. That is how they arrange those angels who are spirits (Ps. 104:4).

Heaven decided to give us their law to convert our minds. There are many things we still struggle with in our minds, but we will no longer struggle with because the mind has gone through transformation, and God will look at such a man as a living sacrifice. Such a man is not just singing it, he is a living sacrifice and all his members are a living sacrifice because both the word of God and the laws of God have conditioned them as a living sacrifice. It is a living sacrifice that God will gather to come and make covenant with Him (Psalm 50:5). This thing is not a thing that is supposed to happen in a hundred years’ time. These are realities we should start coming into.

When you are a living sacrifice, you are not yet perfect. You have just done the first work and you are ready to engage in the second and the short work. Living sacrifice is not the full work. It is just that such a man has done the work of God and has the law of God resident on his inside. Heaven can start counting on such a man because his soul is becoming spirit. There is still a further work of spirits. Covenant, testimony, law are all spirit things in different strengths.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name” (Psalm 103:1). God wants all that is within me to serve Him. God wants all that is within me to worship. All that is within you cannot bless the Lord except it is spirit. You must be made in the order of the world to come, after them that bless the Lord. (Ps. 103:20). So, if all that is within me will bless the Lord, then all within me must be converted to spirit. All within me cannot have motions that the law of sin still governs. God wants to make our thoughts not just spiritual but spirits (Isa. 55:8).

Our soul has things within – the mind, heart (which is the conscience), emotion, imagination, reasoning, thoughts, and desires. This is what the law of God will make as objects of blessing to God.

“Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. [6] Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. [7] Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, [8] I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart” (Psalm 40:5-8). When the law is within, blessing will flow from within. God wants sacrifices from within. He is living. He does not want burnt offering nor sin offering, but sacrifice from within. Your emotion and reasoning become a sacrifice. That is the servant of God, the house of God; that is the man with the image of the Son of God, whom the law of God has converted everything within him. When one is a servant of God, all that is within such a one blesses the Lord. Such a man does not murmur because he is not married or because he has not built a house or because his career is not how he wants it to be. A man who murmurs is not yet a living sacrifice that is holy, acceptable unto God.

“[6] Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom [17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” (Psalm 51:6, 17). These are what make up the sacrifice of God and the service of God. These are also how they raise worshippers of God; it is from within. The servant of God and the worshipper of God are from within. They are members inward and within. That is what angels are within. God wants to raise souls that can bless the Lord from their within things .
