Believers’ Convention 2025 – Day 2 Morning Session – Rev. John Okposio

Date: Monday, 18th August, 2025

Transcript Summary

  1. We should not be tired of getting more of the life of God. God designed us to continually be in need of Him, both now and for eternity. The learning and speaking of God’s word will continue, even in heaven. God desires people who will join Him, like His only begotten Son did (Heb. 1:1-9; Rom. 8:29).
  1. Spiritual gifts are given as God wills, so there is no need to envy those who have them. Faithfulness with what we have is what blesses the body of Christ and pleases the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  1. Jesus has been praying to the Father that He will make us one (John 17:21). Anything that divides the body of Christ is not of God. The love of God has been so invested in this ministry that it reflects the life of Christ. When you can see Christ in your brother and sister, it prevents you from dwelling on the negative.
  1. We should not look for any reward here on earth; rather, we should serve the Lord with all humility and focus, for our heavenly Father is humility personified.
  1. God allowed for the current state of Nigeria because of the prophetic destiny over us, and it is for our good. Certain statistics show that next to America, Nigeria produces the largest number of registered preachers in the world. We ought to be proud of our nationality, for a new Nigeria is about to be born.
  1. Satan is afraid of us and desperate to stop us (from attaining our destiny). He is mixing up other things with Christianity in Nigeria, but it is impossible for Nigeria to fail in her mission. What we are presently experiencing in Nigeria are birth pangs. Therefore, we should not focus on the inconvenience of what is going on in Nigeria or what we see; rather, we should rejoice in all situations because rejoicing heals annoyance.
  1. We have a free will that God allows us to exercise. If we have to do something because God forced us, it is unacceptable. He is ready to wait until we are willing. God does not have an issue with time; He is ready to wait for another generation if ours do not meet up with the expectation.
  1. We should not struggle to trust or obey God. Our biggest enemy is the flesh, which always casts doubt on what God says. We should rather learn to take steps in faith. Faith will only show us what is enough to take the next step, and we should not insist on knowing everything.
  1. Whenever things look difficult, we ought to remember the word of God. We should not focus on the problem but on what God said. If God says it, we should believe it, and that settles it. Even if we falter, we should rise up again.
  1. Missionaries are going from Nigeria to all nations of the earth. This ministry will go to several nations and will network the body of Christ. It will bring out the best in them by teaching them to live by faith and making us see ourselves as brothers and sisters in the Lord.
  1. Suffering is part of Christianity, but it must be redemptive suffering. Anytime we are praying for Nigeria, we should not focus on what the enemy is doing; instead, thank God and count our blessings. God is doing far more than Satan is doing.
  1. We should not focus too much on past church history. We are going to surpass what our fathers did, because they did not reach the zenith; they just laid the foundation for us to climb. Even Jesus wants us to do the same work He did, and even greater work than that. We should not focus too much on the past (John 14:12).
  1. We most times feel tired because we are relying on our own strength. But when we stay in the presence of the Lord, our strength will be renewed. We should therefore rely on the strength of the Lord.
  1. Our primary assignment is to win souls, save nations, and demonstrate the power of God to our generation.
  1. Your labours for the Lord are not in vain. Continue to serve the Lord and resist evil. Even if you fall, do not remain there; get up and move forward.
  1. We must die daily; this is the seed of faith discipline. Putting up with others is part of dying daily. The reason God has allowed corrupt politicians is to train us in suffering, so that we will wake up.

            Blessings!
