Believers’ Convention 2025 – Day 4 Morning Session – Pastor Thompson Ehima

Date: Wednesday, 20th August, 2025
Transcript Summary
- Sin is a government, a dominion and a reign. It is known to be more of what a person does, but it is beyond that.
- In the beginning, sin was only in the human spirit and had not gained ascendancy into the soul of men like Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel. However, it had the ulterior motive to reign, rule, find expression and be a way of life to men.
- (Gen. 4:7). Sin is interested in any man journeying towards knowing God, just like it was in Cain. This is because it can multiply easily.
- Sin knows that it cannot rule and reign without willingness and man cannot be coerced for true government to be perpetuated, because man was created with willpower. Anything that someone is coerced to do is not recorded on the person’s account because he was not willing.
- One cannot negotiate with sin because it has some clauses that are not clear. Sin has a higher intelligence because it is not a product of the earth.
- The problem of Adam and Cain was that they could not hide the word of God in their hearts (Psa. 119:11). It is not easy to keep the word or commandments because there are other pulls that are competing for the heart.
- When Cain allowed sin in His heart, what he allowed was a body of sin (Rom. 6:6). The body of sin can grow because it has life.
- Every time we yield our members to sin, it increases and grows in reign and dominion. Sin came in like it wanted to serve Cain, but in truth, it is a godfather who knows how to broker deals. It began using Cain as a puppet to do its will.
- The Book of Proverbs encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our understanding (Prov. 3:5). This is the reason for the first training of Christ, so that we do not look at our own things. Therefore, we are encouraged to allow the same mind that is in Christ Jesus to be in us (Phil. 2:5)
- (Eph. 4:28).The primary purpose of giving is not for us to receive in return because that is still a hidden motive of self. It is true that God gives back to us when we give, but that is not the motive of giving.
- We ought to give, so that we can have the training of not looking on our things. Sin and death reigned and evolved because men were considering their own things.
- We all desire the Throne of God and the Lamb in us, but the mystery of inquity has been constructed in us and is seated where the Throne of God ought to be seated. This shows that the reign and rule of sin is not primarily external, but internal.
- Without the foundation called Christ, you cannot access the Throne of God. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the ground that the Throne of God is constituted on.
- (Rom. 8:1). Walking after the spirit is the foundation of the Throne, and it is upon that which the heart and soul will be framed. Without mercy, you cannot find truth. It is a standard that is revealed and exalted.
- Word is used to check hearts that are disciplined, thereby making disciples. This heart is one that can follow the commandment of the word, keep its tenets and obey the word. You cannot walk in the law of the Lord for freedom until you have kept the word.
- An upright heart is a pure heart. It is gotten through walking in righteousness. Righteousness is not what we just calculate and discern, it has to be revealed. Righteousness refers to God’s expectations, standards and commandments.
- (Rom. 1:16-17). You have to obey righteousness, and it is mercy for you to find it. Mercy must escort you to find the teacher of righteousness, either in Christ or in the everlasting righteousness, for nobody can find the things of the Spirit by his power.
- It is only mercy that can escort and pave way for the heart. There are many Christians who exercise in spiritual activities like long hours of prayer, but the gospel of Christ, which is the archive of righteousness and the parameter of how to please God, is not opened unto them. The way of righteousness and peace they know not (Rom. 3:17).
- (Psalm 23:1-2). We cannot walk in the law of the spirit of the life in Christ Jesus except He leads us. Mercy must escort us. Therefore, we should continually pray the prayer of mercy.
- (1 Tim. 1:16). It is by mercy that we believe everlasting righteousness and the righteousness of God. Mercy is a throne that breeds. There are commandments and impressions that mercy puts upon the soul, so that we can yield and not take the glory of anything done in us.
- To be upright means you are undergoing growth and being built up. One needs an upright heart to find truth because truth is the law. Righteousness is the word allocation unto uprightness and truth. Truth is the law of that allocation.
- We cannot be free from the reign of sin until we do the law of truth. However, you can be free but have not yet overcome. There is no overcoming without the times of the throne.
- A man might be free from sin and death, and might have broken free through obedience to righteousness from the heart. Your heart can be made upright and pure, but without the law of truth on an upright heart, we do not have a fleshly heart.
- A fleshly heart is one that can respond to God the way He should be responded to. When you have a fleshly heart, heaven will ensure to introduce you to fervent charity, which is a sure curriculum that you must do from the heart.
- Fervent charity is a love walk amidst the brethren. It refers to the love commandments you must do to prove to God, so that you can be welcomed to the throne of grace. It is the kind of love that can deal with death and grave.
- He that is upon the throne is full of grace and truth, and of His fullness we have received grace for grace (John 1:16).The throne is constituted to give the heart grace until it is established and can continue with the fight unto overcoming everything it has been free from.
- There are some people that have a crisis in their marriage. God said you will enjoy reconciliations from this convention because you’ll find mercy and grace to bring forth healing.
- This convention is a catalyst, for there is something we would be given to overcome. We will overcome everything we have been free from. We need to reinforce the grounds that we have taken from being set free, so we can overcome.
Round-Off by Reverend Kayode Oyegoke
- (Rom. 5:17). We can get grace from God’s throne. To receive grace is to receive the word of God. It is the word of God that will make you the first overcomer in everlasting life.
- Satan is a constitution of thrones and dominions. There is a throne of the wicked but there is a throne also that can overcome the wicked one, which is the throne of the word of God.
- (1 John 2:13-14). To know God from the beginning is to receive the gift of righteousness. The gift of righteousness comes through writing the laws in your heart, which leads to making covenants.
- In the gift of righteousness, there are overcomings that you have to do (Rev. 12:11). What gave Jesus the throne is love, because He loves righteousness and hates wickedness (Heb. 1:9).
Blessings!
