Believers’ Convention 2025 – Day 5 Morning Session – Dr. Stuart Quartemont

Date: Thursday, 21st August, 2025
Transcript Summary
- God knows what He wants to do in us; our part is to stay open for Him to do His work.
- God sometimes offends the mind to reach the heart. He chooses to manifest Himself in His own way, which is often contrary to our plans or expectations.
- God wants us to use the conduit of our prayers to not only bless the body of Christ, but also to feel and touch His heart. This is why every minister ought to be an intercessor (1 Tim. 2:1).
- We ought to record our prophecies. While it is important to let the Spirit have His way, we also need to record/archive so we can revisit later in order to run and wage good warfare with what was spoken (Hab. 2:2).
- Prophetic prayer for people requires faith. The enemy knows this, so he sows fear to keep us from releasing the utterance.
- The interpretation of tongues is the same as prophecy, with tongues as the prerequisite. Tongues serve to convict unbelievers and reveal that the Lord is truly in our midst.
- Prophecy is integral to our Christian growth. If it is not for edification, comfort, or to build people up for the kingdom, then your motive may be wrong (1 Corin. 14:3).
- Love must be the motive behind prophecy (1 Corin. 13). Before you pray for the gift of prophecy, search your heart, mind, and emotions. Are you pursuing prophecy because the love for God’s people is truly shed abroad in your heart, or to appear important? If it’s the latter, you should not be pursuing it.
- Being prophetic simply means being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Any of the five-fold ministers can be prophetic, and in fact, they should be.
- We must learn to submit to pastors and church leaders wherever we go, for God has established government in His kingdom, and we are called to submit to one another. The posture of submission allows correction and keeps us from arrogance; that is how every believer should walk (1 Pet. 5:5-6).
Blessings!
