Topic: The Two-Fold Ministry of the Son of God

Transcript Excerpt

This ministry (of the Son of God) coming to us is mercy finding us. God can choose to hold this ministry back from us and things will still be happening in the Church. This theme/burden is not just something fetched from the Bible, but an experience in the spirit that was born out of obedience—where God led a man, a woman, and other company of fathers to a place where Jesus can be brought back to earth.

We will need a lot of alignment in the spirit this season—a lot of being under, because the days ahead are going to be very tough. We must discern spiritual authorities and, as much as we have grace, stay under. In the days ahead, God will bring clarity to us on how to discern people in the spirit. God will begin to make us have conversations of the world to come now, and we will begin to see some people as dignitaries in the spirit. There are ranks in the spirit, and we have to learn them. The ministry of the Son of God would be incomplete without these ranks; we would have to be set in order in the spirit.

“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” (John‬ ‭1‬:‭18). The burden of this meeting is not a theme, but an announcement in the spirit that is worthy of note. We should not say, “the Son of God is coming”, but “the Son of God is come”. We must become aware of His presence in our midst. He will be part of our meetings. Only those who are waiting for Him will know that He is come. This appearance of the Lord is not first to everyone but for ‘them’ that are eagerly waiting for Him.

“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Heb. 9:28). Amplified version uses the term, “eagerly waiting” in place of “look for”. “Eagerly waiting” for the Lord is a posture in the spirit. You must be built to a place where you can see Him. The Son is already ministering. This burden is more than when He would appear in the clouds; it is to note that Jesus has taken up His ministry. Our Lord Jesus is a minister; He has a ministry, and every soul must receive that ministry.

God, by His provision, has made us to appreciate the ministry of the Holy Ghost. It is part of the build up. However, there is a ministry that the Holy Spirit is preparing us for. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is more than the gifts of the Holy Ghost. The gifts are to pep the soul, to make one know that one can be supernatural. But much more, the ministry of the Holy Ghost is to change the soul texture.

Recall that when it was time for God to create man, He said, “…Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…”(Gen. 1:26). Note the term ‘our’, implying that They would do it together. “Us” as in this Scripture is what John referred to in 1 John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” However, man fell from this plan of God and Satan hijacked ministry from God through sin. But when Jesus died and resurrected, He brought man back to God’s original plan. Jesus redeemed us, which means that Jesus “bought us back” for the original intention and purpose. There is something at stake; whatever made one of the Godhead to become man (flesh) cannot be something small.

After Jesus completed the course for buying man back, His statement to the apostles in Matthew 28 was to bring back God’s original intention. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…” (Matt. 28:18-19). This scripture is not a formula for water baptism, rather, it is an allocation of nature. Name is nature. It is so that at the end of the day, every soul will have the imprint and dealings of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Man descended so much from the estate where God formed him and became flesh (Gen. 6:3). This is due to the fact that although God was working in men to a degree, the work was truncated until after Jesus’ resurrection. Since man had fallen to flesh, one of the Godhead – the Holy Spirit – had to come take man up from the fleshly state and do the ministry of changing flesh. Flesh here is referring to the state of the soul. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to change a soul’s state from flesh to spirit. Flesh nature is what we refer to as carnal nature.

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.” (1 Cor. 3:1). A carnal soul has to be made spiritual. It takes the Holy Ghost to feed a soul with milk to change it from being a carnal man to a spiritual man. We have had a breakthrough in the Church because we have known the ministry of the Spirit to a degree. However we need to begin to see again that Jesus has a ministry. The Holy Ghost will prepare us and Jesus will come and work further. Jesus is a minister and He needs to take up His ministry.

“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; [2] A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.” (Heb. 8:1-2). The Hebrew church is the same church in the upper room that received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2; they were Jews. In Hebrews 8, Paul was magnifying Jesus. It is likely that the Hebrew church did not know Jesus as the High Priest. An average Jewish mind expected the coming of the Messiah to deliver Israel from their enemies. Jesus’ ministry is in two places: the Sanctuary (or Holy Place) and the true Tabernacle (Most Holy Place) .

God’s plan is to have to have all men come to the Most Holy Place, not just one Man. “They go from strength to strength, Every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” (Ps. 84:7). To appear before God is to come to the Most Holy Place. Our destiny in Christ is to become most-holy entities.

“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” (John 1:18). The ministry of the Son is for the declaration of God; it is the declaration of His Father and His God. These constitute the two-fold ministry of the Son of God. These two are not the same thing. Recall what He told Mary when He rose from the dead. “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” (John 20:17).

Elites in the spirit (those whom Jesus raised and trained) who wrote the scriptures had a way of greeting: “Blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus…” (Eph. 1:3). When Jesus was on earth, He always referred to God as “My Father”. That was the light He was using to live. It was on the cross Jesus first said, “My God” (Matt. 27:46), because He had entered another programme. In the grave, Jesus was knowing God although it was not physically visible. When He rose from the dead, that knowledge of God blossomed more. That was when He got Eternal Life.

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. [5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17:4-5). This was Jesus asking for Eternal Life before He went to the cross. If Jesus had Eternal Life while He was on earth, it would have been impossible to kill Him. Jesus was running the programme of the Father on earth but towards His death, He began to run the programme of God.

When Jesus resurrected from the dead, He was glorified. What He told Mary in John 20:17 was not an ordinary statement but a word that would be an ordinance to all His brethren – not just the eleven but also for everyone who would be among His brethren. They would have to know that there is “My Father” and “My God”. The greetings to the churches in the epistles were declarations of the ministry of the Son of God. The Son of God is the minister of God— the only One that can administer and declare God. His Father is the everlasting God and His God is the Eternal God.

The everlasting God projects the fatherhood of God. The Eternal God cannot be known by creation. “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” (Isa. 40:28). To create, the Eternal God had to condescend to everlasting God. Even as the everlasting God, there is a limit to which creation can know Him. If you know Him fully as the everlasting God, you will be saved. The everlasting God is the God of salvation. The first of the two-fold ministry of the Son that He would bring to His brethren is to declare His Father; then He would declare His God (Heb. 2:12).

The two-fold ministry of the Son is for the brethren. It is a knowing that the Son of God is come. What He is doing presently is the declaration of His Father. He has been declaring the Father for a while. We are marking a new spiritual and prophetic calendar in the spirit. As a community, we are in the final phase of the declaration of His Father. The final phase of the declaration of the Father is in 1 John 5:20.

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20). His Father is the everlasting God. The everlasting God is both the living God and the true God. “But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.” (Jer. 10:10). This is our destiny— to know God. And this curriculum of knowing God has been committed to Jesus. It is a shame if a person does not know God (1 Cor. 15:34).

“For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;” (1 Thess. 1:9). The true God is the end of knowing the everlasting God. Then, the Eternal God is more than the true God. Jesus defined Eternal Life by Himself, which is to “know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” (John 17:3). The only true God is higher than the true God (which is the key to knowing the only true God). Jesus is the Apostle of Eternal Life. He is the Sent One. If Jesus does not come, we cannot know the only true God and cannot receive everlasting life or Eternal Life. As Jesus appears, life comes (John 10:10).

Jesus is leading this community to the final phase of the everlasting God. Because of the necessity of the times, some have to come to the reign of life so that they can preserve many. He is come that we may know Him that is true (1 John 5:20); so that some people would attain the incorruptible life and in turn, preserve many. His ministry now is to ‘certain some’ in the true Tabernacle and many in the Sanctuary. It is to prepare many for entrance into the Most Holy Place. When Jesus enters the Sanctuary to minister, He comes to bring living light. The sons of the Sanctuary are spiritual people who are already in life and peace.

In terms of precepts, many of us can define everlasting life and Eternal Life. Now, to the sons of the Sanctuary, the Lord is bringing the experience. Lines are for experience and lines will follow precepts (Isa. 28:10-11). We need knowledge, which is precepts. Without precepts, lines cannot fall unto us in pleasant places (Ps. 16:6).

“And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.” (Mal. 3:3). Jesus will sit in the Sanctuary to work. What we should place demand on in this season is significant dominion over the flesh. His sitting in that Sanctuary is to raise men who have dominion over the flesh. For some of us, we still vary in our Christ walk such that when we are under life’s pressure, we borrow flesh and use the life of flesh, that is to say, we are not yet at peace with Christ as our life. We must journey to the point where our default response is the life of Christ. When He sits in the Sanctuary, He wants to see everything new. Christ must be our life. Jesus wants to see men who have full dominion over the flesh: those who have crucified the flesh.

“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” (Rom. 13:14). This is the prosperity of the ministry of Jesus in the Sanctuary. The ministry of Jesus has prospered when one cannot use flesh anymore. The man God lost in the garden is the living soul. Jesus can make a man to be a Christ and move him up further to attain a living soul. Beyond that, He can still make the man a true soul— incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading.

The Son of God will use every circumstance around us for our growth. At particular junctures when we feel we are okay and without warfares, He will bring other circumstances around us. This is His mercy to push us higher or into another chapter in the spirit. We would have to go through the test. Nobody will gain entrance into the Most Holy without being examined. If it seems like a brother is cheating or hurting you, use that as an avenue to walk in love and attain spiritual growth. Use everything for growth and spiritual attainment.

Blessings!
