Topic: The Work of the Coming of the Son of God

Transcript Excerpt

We have not yet seen the Son; it is His appearance that will bring us to a place where we would be like Him (1 John 3:1-2)

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20). “The Son of God is come” means it is not a one-off experience; it is a present continuous tense till He comes in His fullness. This understanding here in the days of Apostle John did not come by trance, dream, vision, but by an experience – a lasting experience. This is not to talk down on trance, visions or dreams. If one’s trance, vision or dreams does not instruct one in the way of the Lord, it cannot save one’s soul.

It is not bad to see a dream or vision, but such experiences should end with instructions in the way of the Lord. What changes us are the instructions we obey. The more we do, the more we change. One cannot change by confessions, for changing is in doing. If you do, you change. Jesus did obedience until He sat on the throne. As such, He is expecting us to obey also. This understanding is not by trance, vision or dream, it is by experience.

As the Son of God is come, the prince of this world is also come. Hence, there are two comings at the same time, so we must be wise. The prince of this world is also coming and he is bringing an understanding. Thus, our warfare really is one of understanding. The giving of understanding by the Son of God is a critical work in us that Satan would oppose. God wants to do things in us; this is the essence of the coming of the Son of God. Before rapture would take place, Jesus would come to us first.

“When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” (2 Thess. 1:10). For this to happen, there must be a program on ground that would grant Him access. For the Son of God to come, there must be a season that would grant Him access. His coming is for His bride and there must be a program on ground that would grant Him access to His bride.

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: [8] Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory…” (1 Pet. 1:7-8). This is a work that would attract His appearance. This program must be on ground to grant Him access. One of the determining factors of His coming is faith (Luke 18:8). Thus, one of the things Satan would do to hinder His coming is to attack one’s belief system. Once this is done, there would not be faith. However, when there is faith, Jesus would come. When He comes, He has works to do. There are many things we do not know that it would take the Son of God Himself to reveal to us.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Rom. 1:16). Without the power of God, we cannot journey. Christ is the power that we need for salvation. One who is void of that power is void of salvation. This is the reason Satan attacks our belief system because he does not want us to come into power. It is that power that keeps us unto salvation.

We need divine power for divine nature. One who has divine power will gain access into divine nature. Christ is the ladder to salvation; Christ is the power unto salvation. Christ is the model required to come into the next level. That is why we cannot overemphasize the person of Christ. These words must be breathed upon us. The world glories in the external, but true glory is within! We have hitherto known glory as external but real glory is within. God looks within (1 Sam. 16:7). Thus, our focus should not be on the external but on the work within (1 Pet. 3:4; Psa. 45:13)

We should not be at a particular point spiritually for a long time. We should shun social media because it is Satan’s invention of giving men his own understanding and hinder us from coming into the true understanding. We should rather be committed to studying the scriptures. Satan gives one an understanding to keep one in the same state spiritually so that there will be no work ongoing within.

“The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. [14] She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. [15] With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.” (Psa. 45:13-15). There is no entrance if we are not glorious within. As the Son of God is coming, one of the things He will be doing is to open us up to things we do not know about.

“Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.” (Psa. 19:12). It is the light of the Son of God that would cleanse us from our errors.

“Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.” (Heb. 3:10). Errors would cause men to err in their ways. What the Lord is looking at is the heart. Once the heart is in error, the Son of God would not come there. Thus, the enemy’s intent is to cause our hearts to always be in error.

“As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. [17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” (2 Pet. 3:16-17). Errors would bring one to a place where such falls from where he is standing.

“Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.” (Psa. 19:12). There is what is called secret faults/presumptuous sins; they are things hidden and we cannot know them. As such, light must shine for us to see these things. There are seasons that come where we begin to see such hidden sins.

Blessings!
