(A closer look @ the essence and core word of the New Testament)
Dearly Beloved Saints,
Many believers have thirsted of elementary faith teachings through which they addressed their natural or material needs; but not all partook of a vital content resident in a pure milk-faith teaching, which should have enabled them learn the spirit of that elementary form of faith and yearn for much more - for the revelation of Christ or of His gospel (Eph. 1:15-17, Rom. 16:25).
For this reason, many believers have not been able to go beyond believing Jesus for things to knowing Him as the Christ, the Son of the living God. (2Tim. 1:12c, Matt. 16:16). And the key for unlocking this great provision, is the word of righteousness (Heb. 5:13).
So, to move from believing in Jesus to knowing Him as the Christ, believers would have to be taught a higher kind of word that was kept secret from the foundation of this world. That was the word that prophets and kings of old sought to hear and see, and that is the word that promises to change the way we see ourselves, the way we see men and things prone to corruption (Eph. 3:9, Lk. 10:23-24).
This teaching is called the word of righteousness because - among others - it unveils on a precept by precept basis, the right way to live in the flesh; the way to live in a manner that would see us change from pleasing ourselves in futility to pleasing the Lord in reality; a journey that takes us into Christ and also gives our soul an habitation in God (Col. 1:10, Jn. 14:3).
This word starts by skillfully unveiling or unlocking the riches of Christ; the truths that fashioned Jesus to become the Christ, and ultimately the Son of God (Jn. 20:31).
By receiving and faithfully keeping the riches of Christ it communicates, we are prepared, empowered and equipped with the spiritual maturity and ability to receive the weightier things (teaching) of God; things that border on the fullness of our soul's salvation (Rom. 1:16, 1Cor. 2:9-11).
So, only by the consistent skillful teaching of this word or of the doctrine Christ, can believers who have only been able to carnally relate with the natural life (i.e. with his natural mind or senses) be brought to a place where they can do so gracefully or spiritually; with a mind strictly inspired by Christ; a spiritual mind that pleases God and displeases the devil (Rom. 8:6).
