“Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind…” (Psa. 104:3). The verse above describes the beginning of the morning of creation. Mornings signify beginnings and they are divided into two — the uncreated beginning and the created beginning. The created beginning is what was described in the verse above; it begins with the making of the clouds that are chariots. Clouds signify mornings.
“And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. [6] But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.” (Genesis 2:5-6). Prior to the time Adam and Eve left the garden, there were no clouds on the earth. If there were, there would have been rain. Rain was first heard of on earth when man became flesh. Before this time, mist was coming out of the ground to water the earth to grow the vegetation (botanical aspect) of the earth. But we do not have this anymore because when the rain started to fall on earth, God shut down that process.
“And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. [11] The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; [12] And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. [13] And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. [14] And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.” (Gen. 2:10-14). What went out of Eden was a river; for a mist was what came out of the ground. However, the mist will not get the job done because of what God did in Eden. God used the rivers that went out of Eden to create boundaries for nations. Eden was the Holy of Holies of the earth. It is God’s tabernacle on earth.
"Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood. [7] We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool." (Psa. 132:6-7). Going into His tabernacle means entering the fields of the wood. The field is a place of rest in the tabernacle because it has trees, which usually cut off the sun. The sun (the light that flesh uses) is too low to be God’s light, therefore, it cannot reign in the tabernacle of our God. The river that flowed out of the garden would first water the garden. Thereafter, it would go out and part into four (Gen. 2:10). This was because God was sending the river to the uttermost parts of the earth in order to prepare people to follow it to locate their lands.
God’s intention was that the four parts would be the houses of His sons and that the Edenic community would grow bigger. God intended that as they are doing well with the tree of life, they will begin to fill the earth. Those rivers had an ability to grow God's intent and spread the tabernacle, so that Adam’s lineage could spread. The intent of God was to spread men to govern the earth such that from earth, when they have reached a particular level, they would govern the heavens. God intended to grow from earth to the heavens, above angels. God came down when his purpose had been thwarted. He reacted to it because He wanted to see if He could save the earth.
“And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. [11] And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? [12] And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.” (Gen. 3:10-12). The reason God asked Adam this question was because he was beginning to hear someone else — the enemy. When Adam ate of the fruit of that tree, that voice moved from without to within him and it became a voice of fellowship. Such a voice is harder to break. Satan fills the heart by continuous speaking, until he enters such a heart. This was how he entered the heart of Judas Iscariot (John 13:27).
Immediately God knew Adam had eaten the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, He became the voice that instructed from without because it was impossible to have two fellowships in Adam’s heart. Then, the rivers could not continue their purpose. All those rivers charted four planes (places) which represent the manifold faces of God— the face of a cherub. These places are close realms— realms of the east.
The river traveled in order to prepare for Adam’s race, so that man would govern from those four points and take them as the first expansion out of Eden. These places would later become the four horns of the earth — portals from where heaven can communicate with the earth. But that agenda was hijacked by a wicked cherub. So, God had to depend on rain water. God had to make a pact with the sun to get rain. As such, the sun has to smite the earth (or flesh), but this was not God’s plan. The smiting of the sun is after the order of emperors of old like Cyrus, Ahasuerus, etc. These men were unquestionable.
“And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.” (Gen. 9:15). When we fell into flesh, rain destroyed the earth. Since then, man has had to depend on rain. Rain cannot fall except there is a formation of clouds, but there is a limitation to what rain can give. The limit of rain is the limit of the blessings of the knowledge of the glory of God. When God is taking you from the realm of creation to His realm, He has to bless you with rain. Therefore, the realms of Christ till we get to God are rains. .
We need rivers (waters) because they bring about the full blessing of everlasting life. Everlasting life is partially a rain. The glory of the Lord is spirit – it is water, not just knowledge. But knowledge comes as rain; it is the ministration of doctrine. Thus, the ministration of righteousness which someone is enabled to minister is not a ministration of knowledge, but a ministration of spirit (glory). So, when a minister of the New Testament is ministering spirit, he is a spirit and so behaves spiritually. Such a minister is glorious.
“Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” (2 Cor. 3:6). This Scripture connotes that the minister should be more empowered than knowledge because ‘spirit’ is way (Isa. 43:19). When a man is a way, he would also impart his children with knowledge (Isa. 32:2). Jesus said, “I am the Way” (Jn. 14:6); this means He is a Spirit. The reason we are not yet able to deal with Satan is because he is a way. It would take wayfaring men to deal with him (Is. 35:8). If you are not a way, you will not be able to fight spirits. Evil spirits are still having a field day in the church because men who are spirits have not yet arisen.
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. [12] And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” (Gen. 6:11-12). God holds his way dear. This was why He sent cherubims to keep the way of the tree of life (Gen. 3:24). The way of the tree of life is a particular spirit in God. If a man knows this way, he would get to the tree of life, for the arrangement of the heart and preparation of the soul would be conditioned into that way. Way is alive; it is spirit and life. A way can be eaten. The ministration of the spirit is the ministration of a way, therefore, glory is a way.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Cor. 3:18). A minister of the New Testament should be highly empowered with glory, and not just have knowledge. When saints sit under his ministration, they should be transformed. When a man beholds the glory of God and is changed from one glory to another, what he is beholding is spirit. When a man beholds the glory of the Lord, He is receiving an impartation for a change to become more glorious.
There is a difference between a minister of light and a minister of the spirit. We get life from the face of God. Life precedes the spirit, for without life, one cannot get spirit. To have life is beyond knowledge because it is a tangible impartation. One who has life would definitely reflect the way. Thus, Jesus was not a philosopher but a Life Giver. Angels are ways; they do not only teach paths but ways. Even fallen spirits are equipped with a sense of way, therefore, they know what to do to take life from a person. One in whom this way has become life does not grow weary.
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14). Jesus refers to everlasting life as a well. The river is spirit and as it springs, it is building itself so that one can get life. Eternal Life grows by the way of life. The way is a spirit to life. There is a way to Life Eternal. Until that way is found, no one can see the Tree of Life. The river charted the course to the Tree of Life, but other trees around it also received the blessing.
“For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” (Rev. 7:17). This fountain of water is a well of water which Jesus told the Samaritan woman of. These fountains are sufficient to wipe off our tears. To take away one’s tears is for one to overcome. However, to reign, one must be parted, charted, crushed, smitten by the way, and have the way cut in one. One in whom this cut is done is one in whom the spirit of the way will be put. Thus, he can see the Tree of Life.
“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Rev. 3:21). If Jesus does not grant one access, there is no way one can get to the tree of life. That means, one can overcome and go to heaven, and yet not have this grant. To be granted, is to be enabled. In this we can see the pride of angels — they know things we do not know as men, for they are spirits.
The calling of a New Testament apostle is more than having knowledge. It is to impart the spirit of the knowledge and to give the way of the knowledge. What is inside us as iniquity is a way. To fully deal with a spirit, one needs more than knowledge; one needs to learn way. The Lord took the children of Israel through the wilderness in a manner that was not definite (pillar of cloud and fire). That dealing was to chart a way in their soul.
“He found him in a desert land, And in the waste howling wilderness; He led him about, he instructed him, He kept him as the apple of his eye. [11] As an eagle stirreth up her nest, Fluttereth over her young, Spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, Beareth them on her wings…” (Deut. 32:10-11). The Shepherd’s rod and staff are spirit and life — they teach the way (Psa. 23:4). These are the things that comfort the sheep, for they lead the way. A man cannot lead people when he is strong in himself. God would have to break him and put ways in him. A shepherd is a way to the flock, therefore, a man cannot lead the flock unless he is with the Shepherd. It takes time to raise men with life.
Blessings!
Summary
1. (Genesis 2:5-6) Rain was first heard of on earth when man became flesh. Before this time, mist was coming out of the ground to water the earth to grow the vegetation (botanical aspect) of the earth
2. It was because of the fall of man that God had to make a pact with the sun to get rain for the vegetation on earth. As such, the sun has to smite the earth (or flesh), but this was not God’s plan.
3. When God is taking you from the realm of creation to his realm, He has to bless you with rain. Therefore, the realms of Christ till we get to God are rains.
4. Knowledge comes as rain, but glory is more than knowledge. Therefore, the ministration of righteousness is not just a ministration of knowledge but of spirit. This is how a New Testament minister ought to be (2 Cor. 3:6).
5. The reason we are not yet able to deal with Satan is because he is a way. It would take wayfaring men to deal with him (Isa. 35:8). If you are not a way, you will not be able to fight spirits.
6. The way of the tree of life is a particular spirit in God. If a man knows this way, he would get to the tree of life, for the arrangement of the heart and preparation of the soul would be conditioned into that way. The way is alive; it is spirit and life.
7. A minister of the New Testament should be highly empowered with glory, and not just have knowledge. When a man beholds the glory of God and is changed from one glory to another, what he is beholding is spirit (2 Cor. 3:18).
8. Eternal Life grows by the way of life, which is a spirit to life. Until the way to Life Eternal is found, no one can see the Tree of Life. A person who can see the Tree of Life is one who has been dealt with by the way and whom the spirit of the way has been put upon.
9. To reign, one must be parted, charted, crushed, smitten by the way, and have the way cut in one. One in whom this cut is done is one in whom the spirit of the way will be put. Thus, he can see the Tree of Life.
10. The calling of a New Testament apostle is more than having knowledge; it is to impart the spirit of the knowledge and to give the way of the knowledge. This is because we need more than knowledge to deal with a spirit.
