“For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;” (Heb. 7:26). Jesus is made higher than the heavens and that explains why He can solve heavenly problems. It will take more than a heavenly man to deal with heavenly defilement. Jesus is not a heavenly being; He wants the world to know that He is far higher than the heavens. It's belittling to address Jesus as a heavenly being. Though Jesus is gone into the heavens, He is higher than heavens (Heb. 4:14)
Faith and salvation are good, but salvation is a great good. A man will only be saved if he attends to the good things that publish salvation. “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7). Saying unto Zion that her God reigns is saying to her, “your Father has Eternal Life” or “your Father has the life that reigns supreme”. This needs to be preached over and over until Zion comes into the full realisation of what the message is.
The publication of the things of Christ is the small resurrection, while the publication of good tidings of good is great resurrection. Without good tidings of good, a man cannot be raised greatly. For you to be great at all, you must be raised with great things. “Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.” (Psalm 104:1). This greatness of God does not speak of God’s creative ability. Rather it speaks of the strength of materials that are contained in God which makes Him great. It’s not easy to explain those properties—the things that make God great.
“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;” (Heb. 8:1). “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Heb. 1:3). “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (1 Pet. 3:22). From these three scriptures, it is clear that there is a Majesty in the heavens on high and we cannot see Him except when we get into the heavens. The Majesty is situated at the peak of creation. Heaven is not majestic but the majesty is higher than heavens. The throne of God is higher than the heavens.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isa. 52:7). The intent or essence of the gospel that is called “good tidings'' is to cause a man to make peace with God. Then there is another publication or greater good, which is the good tidings of good that brings a man to salvation. Then, there is a preaching or declaration to Zion that reads “thy God reigneth”. This can be interpreted as “thy God is Life Eternal”. The reign of God in heaven is with a power-life. God is expressing a reigning life that is above all life expressions in this present creation. If a man does not have this reigning life, he can’t reign. God wants a man of salvation to reign in life.
If the scripture has made us know that Jesus is different from heaven, it means that we have to (by grace) do so much to know Him. We pray to Jesus and He does things for us because He’s got a tie with us, but He wants us to really know who He is. Our Lord Jesus has been made so much better than the angels and higher than the heavens. This means that there is no space in the heavens that can fit the person of Jesus. Jesus does not fit into the heavenly habitat. Men are of the earthly habitat, but Jesus has been made so much better than the heavenly or angelic habitat. Till today, the heavens have not yet exhausted the ministry of Jesus. Jesus is a ministry in the heavens, shedding and beaming the glory of the Father.
There are great things, and there are majestic things. Majestic things constitute a message that is saying to Zion, “thy God reigneth”. It’s not a tiding, unlike the first two components of the gospel: tidings of Peace and tidings of Salvation. Tidings are works, but the message of majestic things is not a tiding but a reward. To tell us that our God reigns is a call to come see the height above the heavens. It is a call to be caught up to God for the purpose of reigning. However, a man should not come up to God by assumption or take it upon himself without the beckoning of God for Him to come up and sit with Him. God has to call a man to come into His majesty.
“Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.” (Isaiah 62:11). Every daughter of Zion should know that anytime God’s salvation is coming, it’s characteristized by two things (or blessing): works and reward. Reward is with God, while works are before Him. Works are under reward; a man needs to have the works of God to be rewarded. Another witness to this is in the book of Revelation. “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Revelation 22:12).
“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:” (Luke 1:31-32). David became the owner of God’s throne; this explains why God had to discipline him in the manner that He did. It was because David had so much at stake. The qualification of David was that he was a man with a heart to do all the will of God. The most difficult thing for a man to do is the will of God. The will of God was designed against the natural frame or configuration of man. Satan framed man to disobey God to the uttermost. So, bringing the will of God is bringing something that is difficult for man to do. However, a man cannot inherit God’s throne without doing the will of God.
We must understand that it is possible for a believer to become great in the spirit and not be given the privilege of sitting on the throne of God. “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Rev. 3:21). Sitting connotes rest or reign. To sit is to settle down for the life that is in the throne. To sit is to make a final conclusion about a matter; it’s to resolve to end in a particular place.
The works of God are the things that a man will use to overcome. The work done is the attitude of overcomers. To agree to do the works and to take them as your own is to take an oath for your final destination or what you want to become. It’s to make an unwavering choice. There won’t be admittance to the throne without being ready for an oath because He who owns the throne guides it by oath (Psa. 132:11).
“So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.” (Heb. 5:5). There are two states of an high priest: there is an high priest by works and there is an high priest by the calling of God. A man can have the stature of a high priest, but he needs to be called by God. Jesus was first made so much better than the angels, then God called Him to sit on His throne. It’s possible to learn the order of Melchizedek’s priesthood but it’s another thing for the Godhead to confer its authority on you- just like in the natural legal world where being “called to the bar” is important after one has learnt the profession of law. Whosoever despises the ceremony of being called to bar and goes ahead to take the honour upon Himself, would be despising honour and authority. Authority must be conferred upon a lawyer for him or her to be able to practice. There is a lot about being conferred as a high priest in the spirit.
Some believers claim that they are already sitting on the throne, but we see that Jesus did not sit on the throne by Himself. After Jesus purged our sins in heaven, the Father called Him to sit with Him. “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Rev. 3:21). The use of the word “grant” tells us that every overcomer must be granted permission before sitting on the throne. Jesus Himself had to be granted the permission to sit on the throne. Jesus did not sit by Himself, the Father set Him there. The word “with” is a great word. One has to sit “with” the Father, not without Him. No one can sit on his own or by himself; whosoever will sit on the throne must sit with the Father.
A man cannot sit on the throne without being with God. A man who has the throne has what is with God. So receiving the reward is receiving the privilege of being with God. To sit on the throne is not only limited to sitting on a physical throne, because the throne is a person. There is a person that is called the Throne of God; that’s why one sits “in” Him and “with” Him. The Father is sitting in the throne and on the throne. There is no way you can be “on” the throne without being “in” the throne. To be in the throne means that you are inseparable from the throne. Sitting in the throne is having a grasp or the core of God’s reign. Sitting in the throne is sitting in the place from where God’s reign issues out. This means that one is plugged into the source of God’s reign.
“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.” (Rev. 22:1). Proceeding out means issuing out. The water of life that proceeds out of the throne is God’s governing strength, government or expression of reign. It’s flowing out of the core of the throne. The water of life is the reigning ability of God. So, it’s a wonderful thing to sit in the throne.
“And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Rev. 5:6). It means that the four beasts are closer to the throne than the twenty-four elders, but Jesus is sitting in a spot where the four beasts cannot pass into. It’s a realm where creatures cannot dare to come into. It’s holy and separate to God. Jesus is standing in a place where Gods sit.
There are things mentioned in Revelation 3:21: the throne, sitting with God and sitting in the throne. Inside the throne is the core where a God can sit. It’s only God who can use or handle the core of the throne. A man who is on his way to overcoming Satan is one who is making up his mind to be with the Father in the throne. Jesus is higher than any man who will come to sit on the throne. Jesus touches God directly while sitting on the throne, but whosoever is coming behind to sit on the throne will sit with Jesus. The first person who sits is the Father; He has been seated on the throne and no one has ever removed Him. No one can ever remove the Father from the throne.
A man cannot sit on the throne without having the works of God in his soul. These works are the requirements for sitting on the throne with Jesus and the Father. God will not accept anyone who does not have His works. God will not allow any man to come into the throne without finishing the works of everlasting life. “And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:” (Rev. 2:26). The keeping of the works to the end should lead to another. A man cannot just take a reward in the New Testament; it has to be given by God. For example, God said that He would give the hidden manna to the overcomer. So one cannot have the hidden manna except it is given. A keeper of works to the end is an overcomer.
You are not a man after God’s heart if you cannot keep His works. Some men will not even receive God’s works, much less, keep it. Some will throw God’s work away when they are offered. God’s works are things He has done, but the question is, can you keep them to the end? If God comes to look for the works, will He find them in you? “Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.” (2 John 1:8). John is saying to the Church not to scatter the work that God has used himself and the other Apostles to wrought in them, else they lose reward. So there can never be a reward without the doing of a work within. God wrought a work in Christ when He raised Him from the dead (Eph. 1:20).
We should keep the things which God will wrought in us to the end. Those who can keep God’s work to the end will have full reward. Keeping the works of God in hope of receiving the reward that is with God is not just an Old Testament thing, it is also recorded in the New Testament. In the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word is established.
The throne of God is with God (Rev. 22:12). The rod of iron, hidden manna, morning star, the Tree of Life, the white stone are all with God. God gives reward according to our works. Rewards will be given at the rate of our work. Whosoever does not have fullness of works will not be given fullness of reward. The throne of God is the reward that the scriptures major on. The throne of God is the sum total of the reward; you need all the rest of the reward to sit on the throne. The fullness of reward is to finally sit on the throne of God. If your work is not yet full, you may not sit on the throne of God.
In different portions of the Scriptures, it says, “he that overcometh will be given…”. This shows that it is very possible that receiving reward is in stages. We would go from receiving one reward to another until we have the fullness of reward. To be in the throne is to have access to the secret of the throne. The knowledge in the throne of God is different from every other knowledge outside the throne. The knowledge is how to use the throne. The throne will not answer to a man who has not been called to sit with the Father. Sitting with the Father is the help or aid for the reign of the throne.
Everlasting life is not the throne of God, neither is it the life in the throne; rather, it is the life that the throne of God will approve to sit. An overcomer will do nothing with the throne but to sit. Then the throne will teach such a one on how to reign, and this teaching would be quick. When God comes, it is to teach everlasting life but when He comes quickly, it is to give reward (Rev. 22:12). A man who has come to the reward of God will be able to do things that took him years to learn in one day.
Reward comes quickly. The reason for everlasting stature is to have the ability to run at the speed of the reward that God will bring. This is why we need the works of everlasting life. The key to reward is the work or the stature acquired in the soul. It’s not easy to separate everlasting life from the reigning life. The message of Eternal Life is the message of the reigning life of God, and it’s a quick message. The message of Eternal Life is a delivery, or gift. Eternal Life is quicker than the light of creation; angels cannot see it. It’s quicker and faster.
Anything that has to do with God’s reigning life is quick. The delivery of reward is after a pattern of swift impartation. There was some things Jesus did as if He was not learning them. Jesus used His physical body to go to heaven even though He had not worn it before. This was because He had been made quick. Whosoever comes into reward will learn things instantaneously; to learn here is to discover. When the reward is with you, it will begin to talk to you. It will download its program into you, and you will know how to handle it.
“And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.” (Psalm 45:4). These terrible things are not everlasting things, they are majestic things. Rev. Kenneth Hagin prophesied that in the last days, Michael will bring majestic things and things of great importance. These two things are things concerning the last days. This prophecy is fulfilled amidst us by the things that God is declaring to us. Great things are works of everlasting life while majestic things are things of Eternal Life.
The throne of God is made up of majestic things, not just great things. God used majestic things in building His throne. Great things speak of God’s height and stature; but the throne sits on greatness. Works can be translated into majesty. You cannot despise the works of God and expect to be seated on the throne. The works of God and His throne go together.
The purpose of God’s works is to overcome something that the throne of God is highly above. The works of God alone are enough to overcome Satan. You don’t need to be on the throne of God to overcome Satan. If you have to sit on the throne to overcome him, then it means you escaped; you must overcome Satan with everlasting works. A man who keeps God’s work to the end will overcome Satan. Satan wants us to throw away our works, but we should keep it until we come into fullness.
It is majesty that will teach a man terribleness. When the majestic comes on you, it will teach you how to reign or how to express the reigning life. No one can come into such majesty except God permits it, you have to be granted permission. Just confessing that you are seated in heavenly places can help in certain dimensions against demons or some works of the flesh. One can use that confession to avoid sins, but it is not enough to remove sins. It can only take sprinkling or washing by the revealed word of God to remove sins. We should continue to keep God’s works. We should keep everlasting life to the end. And God will come quickly to give His reward according to every man’s work.
Satan does not want any overcomer to be rewarded. Satan is a wicked enemy that likes to imprint pain. We should dread this season because we cannot tell when the reward will be given. “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Rev. 22:11-12). This should scare us because the scriptures did not even say that we should repent. Let he that is wise in his own conceit continue in his way, he that is stubborn should remain so; God is coming with His reward to give every man. We should do everything not to lose our reward. Many prophets in the Old Testament sought these things diligently, but it was not given to them. So we should not despise this message.
