An appraisal on inheriting god & becoming inhabitable to him
Dearly Beloved,
For not a few till date, it took quite some hustling to own things, to own a plot or hectare of land for example, but in the beginning it was not so. The first “thing” and/or the first “land” that God wanted His true lovers to own, inherit or be rewarded with was God (Gen. 17:8, Josh. 13:33, Num. 18:20, Heb. 11:16). Man was to inherit God and God was to inherit man (Eph. 1:11; 14; 18c), a process that is to be facilitated by the Holy Spirit who also supervises the addition of other things (Eph. 1:13-14, Matt. 6:31-33).
By framing Adam with a meek nature and a name (authority) that could govern the air (the realm of dominion over the earth – Eph. 2:2b, Isa. 14:12a, 1Thes.4:17, Rev. 12:7a, Matt. 5:5), God gave man the title deed of the earth and by abiding in fellowship, man could touch the corners of the earth from Eden. As a being of the first creation, he was meant to live by commandants and thereby attain a higher perfection (i.e. inherit a new name) like Jesus later did (Jn. 15:10, Heb. 5:9; 1:4). His new name would transcend the present earth, pierce though the present heavens (i.e. above angels) into the new creation where He would have registered His imprints in the new Eden that resides in God – like Jesus later did (Eph. 1:19-21, Heb. 1:4).
But by playing smart with God like many still do today, man fell short of an interim light (glory) through which he once governed the earth and was driven out of Eden, and this necessitated a better and New Testament whereby man would return to a superior Eden than that of Adam or of angels (Eze. 28:13, Heb. 12:22); the Eden (place) within God (Jn. 14:2-3). In Eden, two specimens of knowledge were warehoused in the tree of life; the knowledge of God’s Faith and of God’s Love. Two specimens of knowledge were warehoused in the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; knowledge of sin and of death. The light of the Lord (Christ) would later become the first knowledge of the New Testament that would act as a powerful anti-virus that eradicates every lustful nature and tendencies contrary in the souls of men and would also prepare/empower the soul to entertain the last knowledge – the light of the Father (God).
- 1Cor. 1:24 “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God…”
Like some believers today, the church at Ephesus had believed in the Lord Jesus (Eph. 1:15) and shared in common, love with other believers (Acts 2:22, 4:32) but they did not know whom they believed in (2Tim. 1:12c). They did not know they were called to inherit eternal life (1Tim. 6:12), and that they needed the recovering of the eyes (Lk. 4:18e, Acts 26:18a) to do so.
So Paul had to tarry in prayers, that GOD THE FATHER would bless them with the Spirit of WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING or REVELATION (Eph. 1:17, Isa. 11:2b, Col. 1:9c, Prov. 4:5; 7:4) and then of COUNSEL and MIGHT (Isa. 11:2c, Prov. 8:14, Eph. 3:16) so they can know GOD THE SON (2Cor. 3:17-18) and thereby INHERIT THE RICHES OF HIS GRACE AND OF GLORY that would BUILD THEM to become INHABITABLE by God (Eph. 1:17-19, Acts 20:32, Eph. 2:22). It took a gift of Christ (the apostolic/prophetic grace – Eph. 2:20; 4:11, 1Cor. 12:28) upon Paul to identity and address this need, and the church still dearly needs such today.
- Eph. 1:12 “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers OF THE INHERITANCE of the saints IN LIGHT: …”
God hid our inheritance out of the reach of his enemies and of faithful angels (1Pet. 1:12), and God did so by hiding it in light – in our good land; Christ. Christ (typifying the wilderness) is a place of preparation where we are meant to be purified, prepared and adorned like Esther was (Esther 2:2-17), and like overcoming believers would (Rev. 21:2). In Christ, we are meant to be made good and acceptable so we can stand perfect (Rom. 12:2d, Col. 4:12) in the will and sight of God the Father; who is our perfect land and final rest (typified by Canaan - Matt. 5:48/Heb. 4:1-3/Jam. 1:17a).
Deuteronomy 8:2-3 beautifully summarizes what takes place in the wilderness (typifying Christ), as a place where God through his Spirit humbles us, reveals what was in our heart (Prov. 20:24, 1Cor. 4:4, Rom. 8:27, Rev. 2:23b), ratifies our ability to live by or keep his commandments and kills what previously made us live by bread alone and not on the word proceeding out of the mouth of God!
So the condition that you and I need to meet in order for us inherit God’ and for Him to inherit us is to be in the light and to walk in the light (Ps. 27:1; 91:1 & 1Jn. 1:7). This is where Christ continually enlightens and shines on us (Eph. 5:14, Isa. 60:1) until every property of His light becomes ours so we can boldly say like Apostle John, “DARKNESS (IN OUR SOULS) IS PAST, THE TRUE LIGHT (CHRIST) NOW SHINES” (1Jn. 2:8). This is the separation or sanctification (Acts 20:32f; 26:18e) guaranteed by entrance and fellowship with the eyes/judgments of the epistles and of the super epistles; i.e. the Light of Christ Faith and of God’s Love.
While responding to light, we would engage our first walk in Christ that would cause us to become fruitful (Gen. 1:22c, Gen. 35:11, Col. 1:10b) in every good work; the faith works/walk/exploits of the seven Spirits or eyes of the Lord. By the many referrals of grace unto God’s mercies, we would be strengthened (Isa. 40:29a) to journey to places in the Spirit that empowered Paul to see further and appreciate the need for increased strength (Isa. 40:29b) that springs only from God’s glorious mighty power (Eph. 1:19, Col. 1:10c-11).
This is how we are meant to become many (i.e. multiply – Gen. 1:28d; 35:11) and be blessed with all patience and longsuffering in God (Rev. 1:9d, Lk. 21:19, Eph. 4:2) that would cause us to overcome the devil himself and sit on the throne, having inherited our good and perfect land and completed our good and perfect work (Rev. 2:26; 3:21)
- Isa. 40:29 “He giveth power (the strength of Christ’s faith – through the blessings of the eyes of the seven Spirit of God) to the faint (like the Ephesian saints in Eph. 1:15); and to them that have no might (that is, those who have and are journeying in Faith but need the increased strength/the exceeding greatness of his power to complete the journey into and of Love/the father – Eph. 1:19, 3:19-20 & 2Tim. 1:10) he increaseth strength…” (Col. 1:10c-11).
- Gen. 35:12 “And the land (i.e. God, typified by Canaan – Gen. 17:8/Heb. 11:10/16) which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee (Jacob) I will give it, and to thy seed after thee (including you and I) will I give the land…”
