Becoming a Servant of God’s Face (LSC)

Transcript Summary

1. Some souls do not have a face in the realm of the spirit; this is why they do not appear in the radar of life. Such souls have no identity in the sphere of heaven because of carnality. As long as a soul is carnal, its presence cannot be registered in the realm of the spirit – the realm that matters.

2. Hebrews 9:24-28 talks about an appearance that deals with sin. This is the face that deals with a corrupt face and helps us escape the corruption that works through lust (2 Pet. 1:4). Any man who gets to this point by virtue of his escape will receive the open face that attracts the incorruptible seed. Such a person has escaped a particular corruption but still needs to deal with something in his blood because the flesh has to change completely. When the lust of the flesh is dealt with in a soul, that soul still has the tendency to lust after other (higher) things that men lust for. A new man (with Christ's nature) may still have lusts because he does not yet have the "divine nature". The eyes of such a man have not been replaced with the eyes of God.

3. “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.” (Isa. 55:3). The essence of the knowledge of God is to bring men into the everlasting covenant. Men who would get to this point must exhibit an attitude of inclining their ears to the two forms of hearing. When they first heard, they used what they heard to develop an open face and handle warfare around things like money. A time should come when money is not an issue in terms of consuming the strength in our souls. Men have to incline their ears to faith before this can happen because faith comes by hearing (Rom. 10:17). We must hear the "word of faith" until we can hear the "word of God" by tuning our ears to a higher realm; this is how the darknesses not previously taken away can be dealt with.

4. "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. [18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Cor. 3:18). The Lord is that Spirit that wants to write on an open face, and this has been ongoing. The ability to relate with the sayings of the Lord indicates that one has an open face. When a man cannot relate with the sayings of the Lord, it means he still needs some level of sayings from the Lord to separate and sanctify him from what he still shares in common with the world. Men in the Christ company need liberty to be ultimately saved from sin. The glass which is the "glorious gospel" reveals that which is not okay with the "new man" being shown in the mirror.

5. “While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.” (1 Pet. 3:2). This Scripture speaks of how a soul can be made glorious and incorruptible because that conversation is of great price in the sight of the Father. When a soul desires such, it would then move from having the inheritance of faith to the inheritance that has been laid in heaven which makes the soul incorruptible, undefiled and unfading.‬‬ The "gospel of Christ" raises a soul to become a "virgin" and have an open face. However, this is different from being a "chaste virgin". The five wise virgins had to undergo some processes to become chaste. This means although they were virgins, the appearance of the Lord and the commandments communicated as a result helped them to become chaste virgins.

6. “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked…” (Rev. 3:17). This is a temptation that awaits us in this season. It is possible to be in a season like this and still not depend on the Lord. And as long as we come short of trusting in the Lord, there is a testimony we cannot earn in the spirit. Some people have trusted in silver and gold (Psa. 115:4), but true silver and gold are in the spirit. They are being brought forth through the sayings of the Lord Almighty. They are the things which will make our soul a temple for the living God, and this is when we will be able to entertain the ultimate sayings of God.

7. “And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: [4] And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.” (Rev. 22:3-4). We do not graduate from being subjects or from bringing ourselves into subjection. By God’s grace, we are now in a place where the glorious gospel is being unveiled. All the teachings we hear are to make us glorious, as long as we have an open face. As such, we should have a glorious face in a matter of time if we have an open face.

8. “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.” (Prov. 25:4). The vessel needs to go through a process to take away the impurities before it becomes gold (purified). The reason the Father cannot see His image in us right now is that there are still some impurities in us that need to be taken out. When these impurities are taken away, a finer vessel would come forth. When God sees His image in us, He would bring that which has been hidden from us – the ultimate face. It is only servants of the living God that can see the God of salvation. The God of salvation wants to be seen; this is the labour of our Lord Jesus upon the throne. And we would do well to believe and give ourselves wholly to it.

Blessings!
