Eternal Glorious Fountain Ministry (EGFM)
Believers' Convention 2022 (DAY 3 - Evening Session)
Date: Tuesday, 9th August 2022
One thing that has been emphasised in the previous teachings of this Convention is that God wants to paint His vision in a new and fresh dimension in our hearts – in a way that is clearer than when we first began our journey with Him. The same vision God had from the beginning is what He is painting and opening our eyes to, again and again. The angel Gabriel was sent to Daniel to help him understand scripture (Dan. 9:21-22). When we read the book of Daniel, we see the battle that ensued to deliver understanding to Daniel. Daniel was admonished to become more meek. The essence of understanding is to make us more meek.
God works on us from the beginning of our walk. Although at this time, what we seek are anointing and certain gifts to operate the powers of God, what God really wants is a heart that is qualified for the throne. This was what He looked for in Jesus before He allowed Him to sit on the throne. Jesus, though a Son, had to learn obedience (Heb. 5:9). The Father was focused on bringing Him to perfection by teaching Him obedience.
God works in our hearts differently but for the same purpose, which is to bring us to the place where we are obedient. God works on every one of us in His own particular manner to bring us to His promise. Just as standards differ between countries like Nigeria and Poland, the workings of the Lord in hearts vary. The fact that someone is being dealt with differently does not mean that God is not working in his/her heart. Marriage is an institution that God formed to work on hearts to achieve His purpose. It is a school where one learns to die to self.
Every angel in scripture is a messenger. They all carry specific messages for God’s people. Although the angels Gabriel and Michael are messengers of God, they each carry a specific message to God’s people. The content of the question “who is like God?” carries the answer that none is like Him. Each time we see the angel Michael, we should understand that he is an angel of war who brings forth an understanding that there is no one like God (Rev. 15:3-4).
"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" (Rev. 13:4). The kingdom of darkness also has a question, “who is like the beast?”. The question “who is like God?” is a help that is sent to us to aid our understanding of the truth of God. We try as much as possible to tell our children who God is so that they can have something to hold on to. However, as we journey, we realise that we do not know much about God.
The nature of God is the only antidote to prevent man from becoming corrupt (2Pet. 1:2-4). The soul of a man that is not changing in response to God is constantly being corrupted. The revelation of the Son of God and the Lamb is the only antidote to stop the workings of corruption in a man. God wants to grant us access to great and precious promises.
Before a man can sit on the throne, he has to go through the process of becoming fully like the Son of God. God will not allow a soul that does not carry the image of the Son to sit on the throne because that will be destructive. God wants to grant us access to perfection; this has been His plan from the beginning. God is good, not because He gives things, but because He wants to make us perfect.
In the word that God is bringing, there is a hidden help that we do not realise that we need. By this message and the angel Michael, God is bringing a message that will deliver strength to the soul that will enable it to turn away from the world in a greater strength. We need to constantly hear to capture this vision of God, which is to present man perfect to Himself.
"My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you…" (Galatians 4:19) Paul travailed in birth again. It means that birthing a man to inherit this nature is not without pain. God allows suffering so that we can let go of certain things and inherit His nature. There are many pains we go through that we would not understand while we are on earth, but when we end up in God, we will see the whole picture and understand; because all things work together for those who love God completely (Rom. 8:28).
To love God wholly, we have to stop loving this world. The world has many things to offer, they constitute things that we love; however, they are just to keep man bound to the earth. Lovers of earthly things will not get the promise, but those who love God and His revelation will. God unveils Himself gradually to see how much of Him we can accommodate.
There are many things God likes that we don’t like about Him. For instance, in the parable of the workers in the vineyard, although some workers worked for only one hour, they received the same reward as those that worked for more hours in the day (Matt. 20:1-16). But as we come to know more of God, we find that He is different from man; God is like God. He is the only one of His kind. No man can come to know God except He is revealed. Everything we can acquire on earth with all labour will pass away. As I grow older, I realise how little time I have and I am learning to number my days and focus on knowing God (Psalm 90:12).
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14). We have to forget things that are behind and press onto the high calling. God is our high calling and our eternal reward. He is the reward of every pain that we go through on earth. God is bringing us help at this time. God constantly checks our hunger to see how much of Him we can gain.
"When I look at my life every day, I ask God if I will make it to Him within the time given to me. I want to use my remaining days on earth to live with the longing of knowing God and becoming like Him, because only the Lamb can sit on the throne," the minister says.
God is bringing the revelation of the Lamb because the devil is also bringing the revelation of the beast. The beast is also a message. Just as the daystar will arise in our hearts, the image of the beast will arise in the heart of certain men (2 Peter 1:19; Rev. 13:1-4). The beast is not an emperor or king; it is an image that man will embody. When men embody great and precious promises (2 Pet. 1:4), they become the answer to the question “who is like God?”
May this Convention configure us with the right heart posture to pursue after God. We have to run into God and His nature through learning obedience.
May God help us make it into His image before the great darkness that is coming upon the earth. The world has gone through pandemics and it shows us that we are living in times when our only safe place is in God, looking like and becoming like Him.
Blessings!
