Eternal Glorious Fountain Ministry (EGFM)
Programme: Believers' Convention 2022 (Day 5 Evening Session)
Date: Thursday, 11th August 2022
God has predestined us to be people who will be like Jesus (Rom. 8:29). If we are not like Jesus, we will not receive the double portion. It takes firstborns to receive that double portion (2 Kings 2:9). Elisha waited with and followed Elijah, in order to receive the double portion and he suffered humiliation for it (2 Kings 2:3). These days, Christians do not want to be humiliated or to suffer but suffering is a part of our curriculum.
The Scriptures say that he who has suffered has been made free from sin (1 Pet. 4:1). We should desire to be free from sin. Every revelation that we receive is going to be used to judge us someday. If the revelations we receive do not transform our inner man, then we have received them in vain. The revelations we receive are for us to live a changed life after this Convention.
God is willing to help us and has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3). God gave His best — Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as well. Perfection is a place in God that He has prepared for us. He would not promise it if it were not possible. Everything that will make us perfect has been released. Therefore, we should not give up along the way of this journey. Jesus went through so many things and, like Elisha, He did not give up.
If the revelations that are coming are not humbling us, then we are not receiving them as we ought. There is a time to die and give up all we are for the will of God. God beautifies the meek with salvation (Psa. 149:4). We also need patience to go through all that may come up against us on the path to doing God’s will. Patience will lead us to perfection. Jesus never said we would not go through tough times; instead, He promised to be with us through such times (Isa. 43:2).
The faith required of us is that which can hand over the promises of God to us, having done His will (Heb 6:12). If we do not hold on to faith, lust will creep in. We should hold on a little while longer; He that shall come will surely come and will not tarry (Heb. 10:37). The trumpets’ sound has been going forth; we ought to heed His voice. If we do not hear the trumps now, we will not hear the last trump.
Blessings!
