Being Written in The Lamb's Book of Life through Conversation (WTVPM)

We are in the season where a lot is emphasized on conversations. The things that have been spoken need to be done, for they are not just spoken so that we would have them just as knowledge. When we know, we ought to also do (obey) the requirements of that knowledge. It is a blessing to know; there is no blessing in ignorance.

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Rev. 1:3). Hearing is a blessing but much more, they that keep the things that are written in the words of the prophecy are blessed. To keep is to hold or gain mastery in our use of things; doing is a part of keeping. If we do not know how to keep things, they can be taken away from us. The way our souls keep things is by doing them and exercising ourselves in them; and the things we ought to keep are not physical but spiritual commodities. Therefore, we ought to know how we should keep them.

Hearing is not the same as keeping, for keeping is in the sense of storage. Spiritually, we keep by doing what we have heard and as such, these things are archived in our souls. The soul can be likened to a book which has to be written upon. The Lamb’s book of life is what the soul of the Lamb keeps and our names should be written in it (Rev. 13:8). The soul of the Lamb has trapped within it all things of God. Therefore, the Lamb’s book of life is the book that contains all of God's expressions.

“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.” (Mal. 3:16). Things are archived or recorded in our souls (books) by ‘doing’; this is the reason for the emphasis on conversations. There are conversations of Christ, everlasting Life and Eternal Life, and the Lord wants us to archive these conversations by doing or obeying quickly. In the days of everlasting life, our pace of obedience is expected to be faster than it was in the days of the learning of Christ. As such, the obedience in the days of Christ is reckoned as walking while that of the days of everlasting life is reckoned as running, for it is swifter.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16). The essence of our conversations is not just so that we can live in peace with one another. The Lord who sees our conversations wants to receive pleasure through them. Our heavenly Father wants to see our good works and be glorified. The only work that can glorify our Father in heaven is an everlasting work, therefore, He desires to see this work or conversation in men. Men also need to see a conversation that is different from that which is of the earth.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Philipp. 2:5-8). This conversation that Jesus displayed is a very high one. But we cannot have this conversation without the Christ mind. A carnal man would not see losing as a means of spiritual gain because he always looks out for gain in situations. But this is selfishness, and it came out of a wrong testimony and conversation that focuses on pleasing self. We should not live to please ourselves, just like our Lord never pleased Himself. He rather sought to please the Father at all times.

Pleasing the Father is tantamount to pleasing our brethren and spouses because that is where the conversations are. Christ, everlasting and Eternal Life conversations have to be witnessed in our marriages, our relationships with our brethren and in every other relationship we find ourselves. We must witness the conversation that is being revealed per time. God wants us to be epistles that men can read; He wants men to see a manner of conversation in us. The incense of pleasure to God must keep being offered up as it is being measured to us by understanding; this is how we become epistles (2 Cor. 3:2)

When we live by the conversations of Christ, we raise a standard that will teach men a new way of life. God desires that we show the conversations of Christ in every relationship we engage in. This is so that men may behold these conversations and be converted. Some men might never read the books of the Bible but they can read our conversations as witnesses and books of conversations. The season of everlasting life is one where epistles will be written in the hearts of men by their conversations in every relationship. Conversation is powerful; within it lies the power to take dominion over a place.

“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name…” (Philipp. 2:7-9). By conversation, Jesus pleased the Father. The name Jesus received was not just by proclamation, but as the result of conversation (Heb. 1:4). Names exist in different measures – there is a good name that is better than silver and gold which represent the things of this world (Prov. 22:1). Christ is a name that is better than riches and it is a good name. It is the first name that a man must come into as he journeys to receive the name of God. But one cannot come into this name without a conversation.

Each name has its commensurate conversation; one cannot inherit a name without embodying its conversation. However, one can use a name even when it is yet to be inherited. A babe in Christ can exercise faith in the name of Jesus and get results. Nonetheless, this does not mean that they have inherited the name of Jesus. The results are just the privileges that every believer enjoys as a result of the works of Jesus Christ. Moreso, all things are subjected under a man who has inherited the name of Jesus; such is not just a user of the name but a bearer of it.

The book of Hebrews speaks of patriarchs who obtained good reports (Heb. 11:2); these reports can be said to be a kind of name. These men of faith obtained that kind of name after the order of the conversation that was revealed to them – the everlasting conversation. There is a good name (Christ) and there is also an everlasting name or an excellent name, which cannot be wiped away, for it is connected to an inheritance. An example of such a name is “Abraham”, which means “father of many nations”.

There are names both in heaven and on the earth. Jesus was given a name that is above every name in heaven, on the earth, and beneath the earth (Phil. 2:10). This is so because Jesus’ conversation is above every conversation. Nobody can be like Jesus; no one could ever be in the form of man and obey God as Jesus did. Jesus obeyed God as a man despite all the excuses men give as reasons for not obeying God (Phil. 2:8). Jesus was a human as we are; He could have married, but that was not God’s plan for Him. God had planned for Him to be married to the Church, His bride. This was a conversation higher than the natural marriage on earth.

The name of Jesus can handle things in heaven, on the earth, and beneath the earth. Names are inherited by conversation and God desires that we inherit names. Jesus moved up all the levels of names – from a good name, He obtained an excellent name, and then, a more excellent name. All of these were accelerations in conversations. The names written in the Lamb’s book of life are more excellent. Not every believer will have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life. There is the book of life and then the Lamb’s book of life (Rev. 20:12, Rev. 21:27). For one’s name to be written in the Lamb’s book of life, he must do the works or conversations that the Lamb did. Those that will have their names in this book will constitute the company of the Lamb's wife.

There are many conversations in the Lamb’s book of life and there is a need for these conversations to be witnessed on earth. The Lord is also set to reveal these conversations to us. They may look ordinary, but there is a grand reward attached to them. There is an everlasting name, which is an excellent name and there is an Eternal name, which is a more excellent name. These names are attached to conversations that are being revealed in this season.

If one loses the voice of God’s word, he loses His name. Lucifer lost the voice of God’s word and lost His name thereby. The moment he did not keep the conversation of His name, he lost it. He ceased to be the light bearer and became Satan, the old serpent — the dragon. Conversation, which is doing obedience, is what will bring a man into the inheritance of names. The name of Jesus is above every other name (Heb. 1:4). Men must come to the place where they will bear these ‘other names’. We can only obtain those names by obedience.

We serve God by conversation; Jesus served God by obedience to a conversation. Although Jesus was a Son, He did service unto God. One may become a son, but he has to serve to come into a greater inheritance. The more excellent conversations, with which one would receive a more excellent name, have to be witnessed on earth.

Blessings!

Summary

1. Hearing is a blessing but much more, we ought to keep and do the things we hear (James 1:22; 1 John 3:7). To keep the things we are hearing is to hold or gain mastery in our use of these things. The way our souls keep things is by doing and exercising ourselves in them.

2. Things are archived or recorded (written) in our souls when we do (obey) the words we hear; this is the reason for the emphasis on conversations. The essence of our conversations is not just so that we can live in peace with one another; it is so that we can give God pleasure through them.

3. Pleasing the Father is tantamount to pleasing our brethren and spouses. This is because that is where the conversations are. Christ life, everlasting life and Eternal Life are all levels of conversations that we have to witness in our marriages, our relationships with our brethren and every other relationship we find ourselves.

4. When we live by the conversations of Christ, we raise a standard that will teach men a new way of life. God desires that we show the conversations of Christ in every relationship we engage in. This is so that men may behold these conversations and be converted.

5.. The name Jesus received was not just by proclamation, but as a result of conversation (Heb. 1:4). One cannot inherit a name without embodying its conversation. However, one can use a name even when it is yet to be inherited.

6.. Jesus was given a name that is above every name in heaven, on the earth, and beneath the earth (Philipp. 2:10). This was because His conversation is above every other conversation. Jesus moved up all the levels of names available in the Godhead – from the good name to the excellent name and then, to the more excellent name – through His conversation.

7. Not every believer will have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life. For one’s name to be written in the Lamb’s book of life, one must do the works or conversations that the Lamb did (Rev. 21:27). Those that will have their names in this book will constitute the company of the Lamb's wife (Rev. 19:7).

8. There are many conversations in the Lamb’s book of life and there is a need for these conversations to be witnessed on earth. The Lord is also set to reveal these conversations to us. And even though they may look ordinary, there is a grand reward attached to them.

9. To do a conversation is to do obedience; and this is what will bring a man into the inheritance of names – the good name (Christ), the excellent name (everlasting life) and the more excellent name (Eternal Life).
