Ministering: Pastor Emeka Egwuchukwu
The issue of sin is a great matter in the sight of God. This is not because God can be tempted, neither is it because God is afraid of sin. Sin cannot come near God in any way. The frequency at which God oscillates in the spirit is too high for sin to decode (John 1:5). However, sin is able to ride upon anything that it can decode.
Sin was able to decode the law of Moses because Satan who originated it was a Cherub who understood any law that is of this present creation. “But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.” (Romans 7:8). Sin wrought all manner of evil desires in men through the law.
Sin is more than the works of the flesh that men are often ashamed of; it is a beautiful thing that captivates many. Sin has mesmerised the Church for a long time and has limited her from accessing her heaven. Though we have been raised with Christ in our spirit, we still hold sin in our souls (Eph. 2:5-6). This was why Apostle John said, “if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us”; even though he was handling everlasting light (1 John 1:8). Sin here is beyond works of the flesh that we commit. The use of the word “have” shows that this sin is beyond an offence that one commits but something that the soul holds. What the soul holds unto is life, and so sin is a kind of life that men live.
The Church has so far concentrated on obvious offences that men commit rather than on a way of life that is regimented in the hearts of men (Prov. 16:25). Sin can only be unveiled by truth (1 John 1:8). It would take a progressive revelation of truth to progressively reveal sin. There is hardly any scripture that does not address sin. So, it's a monster that has mesmerised creation.
Sin began from a creature (Satan) who was once a morning star in heaven (Ezek. 28:12-15). He was perfect in beauty, full of wisdom and had the seal of perfection for this present creation. He can also seal a lesser creature. The purpose of the everlasting gospel is to install things in us that will immune us against Satan.
One of the things Satan has done with mankind is to try to create an Eden (or a life support system) to sustain his own life. Satan understands the technology of Eden because he was once a tree in heavenly Eden. God planted an Eden on earth; he saw it and knew how to do likewise.
“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so : thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” (Ezek. 28:14-15). Satan was both a minister and a witness among the Seraphims. He was ministering to them. It was iniquity that was first found in Satan before he sinned. It was the iniquity that was found in him that brought about the multitude of merchandise, he then sinned (Ezek. 28:16).
The iniquity that was found in Lucifer must have come into him through fellowship with some alien thoughts. While Jesus was on earth, He had to fight against thoughts of iniquity. There are certain thoughts that will come to us as a result of some earthly privileges that have not previously come.
Sin began with thoughts. Lucifer was a being of great honour and glory; but wrong thoughts visited his tabernacle and he embraced them. Sin brought a disorder to God's creation. Satan brings wrong thoughts to us in order to make us misaligned under God; and we must bring such thoughts into captivity (2 Cor. 10:5).
“One Lord, one faith, one baptism…” (Eph. 4:5). The gospel is one and we are not allowed to come with any other. Whatsoever a man receives that is not from above is a disorder. Satan sinned because he was receiving thoughts that were not from God. Some pastors already know what to do with the flock of God outside what he is not giving. This is not supposed to be so; shepherds are supposed to receive instructions from the Chief Shepherd. A pastor is not supposed to deal with the flock of God using his own idea. Until a pastor is rid of his own ideas, iniquity is still doing ministry through him.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the man who mirrors out the Father. Our Lord Jesus is our Everlasting Father, but He also has a Father (John 20:17). All Jesus did while He was on earth was the unveiling of the Father. Although Jesus had completed the curriculum of Christ while He was in the house of Mary and Joseph, His teachings were not primarily focused on things of Christ. He was always talking about the Father and doing His works, which is the realm of everlasting life (John 5:20).
Iniquity is a step outside God. We should not come out of God; we should stay in God. Jesus had to carefully tread in the spirit, and thereby escaped all Satan threw at Him. Satan was always bringing evil thoughts to him, even through His disciples, but He overcame them all (Matt. 16:23).
“One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Eph. 4:4-6). God wants to be our passion and pursuit; He wants to be our all in all. God wants to be the husband to a wife, through her husband, and vice versa. Marriage is an everlasting covenant. However, sin has positioned itself to say that God cannot have it all. Sin wants to be in every sphere of human life, but it cannot happen. As long as God lives, the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of God (Hab. 2:14).
God can’t be all in all in our lives when we have not allowed Christ to be all in all (Col. 3:11). Christ wants to be our life because this is how He can be our all in all (Col. 3:4). If we do not agree with the demands of Christ, we cannot escape sin. Christ wants to come into every sphere of our lives where sin has reigned, and everlasting righteousness will be brought in (Daniel 9:24). Sin was what taught man how to hide from God because it was not part of man’s thoughts initially (Gen. 3:9-10).
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people…” (Rev. 14:6). This angel has been amidst us, bringing us things of the everlasting gospel. Even if we don't understand the things that are being declared, we should embrace it until understanding comes. It's through this everlasting gospel that God will make an end to sin and we will be sealed.
