Transcript Excerpt
This is a season of measurement, a season of raising. One of the things the Lord is doing is to give us sight to enable us walk.
“And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. [2] And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.” (Luke 19:1-2). In the natural, Zacchaeus was a tall man and belonged in the category of those who find it difficult to enter into the Kingdom (Luke 18:25). However, something unique happened to him that made Jesus say that salvation had come into his house (Luke 19:9).
This man was tall as far as natural wealth was concerned, so he was in a category where he had to do some things to reduce his height, to be able to enter into the Kingdom.
“And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.” (Luke 19:3). Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus to know who He truly was. There was something this man was looking for, and these are the things that reduced his height and qualified him to enter the Kingdom. This man was not looking to be born again, he was beyond that point; rather, he was looking to see who Jesus was. One who cannot see cannot make progress in the spirit.
This man is a picture of us, who are heirs of salvation; and that was why Jesus concluded by saying that salvation had come to his house. One who has the desire to see Jesus must be as focused as Zacchaeus. There is a kind of height required to see Jesus. One who does not have this height will need to be worked upon to come to a height that can see Jesus.
There are some seeming advantages that are an overflow of wickedness, and in this Convention, these advantages will be brought down. Zacchaeus was wealthy naturally, but God is not intimidated by money, and neither does Heaven eject people who have natural wealth. Zacchaeus had started a journey of being rich toward God, and he sought to see Jesus.
After this Convention, there are things God would delete from us. There would be a graduation in this Convention; some people would move to the next level so that when instructions come, they are able to obey them. One must be reduced in all the wickedness within and be converted to become childlike. As wickedness is being removed, another stature is being measured which is called salvation, because that is the measure of the substances of God.
“And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.” (Luke 19:4). One does not need any ladder that is not given by God. A man needs to be raised to see Jesus, but one must be reduced first and allowed to climb up. We are being raised so that we would bring down that contrary temple.
There is a particular way that Jesus passes and we need an apostle that knows the way. One who wants to arrive safely in this path must meet the apostle of the way. In this Convention, we would notice the way, and it would become open and clear.
“And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.” (Luke 19:5). When Jesus got to that place, He looked up, and this action was a response to the hunger in the heart of a man. Zacchaeus had so much generated hunger that Jesus had to look up. God gave me a vision, and I saw that as we obey and follow this road of righteousness, there are some people that will follow us. There is a greater harvest awaiting us; we would run and others would follow.
In the divine program, God knew that Zacchaeus was going to be in that place, but there is every possibility that he might have missed that leading. There are times that God would go to a location knowing that there are allocations for people who must be found there.
Seeing Jesus is an interaction; it is an activity of receiving. In this Convention, we would see Jesus for who He is; we would see Him for His substances.
"And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:9-10). This Convention is an entrance for hunger and desire. One prayer in my heart is that the Lord enlarges our capacity, because the next allocation is a new door for salvation. May we have the capacity to receive in this season of salvation. Amen!
Blessings!
