Transcript Excerpt
We have journeyed from precepts upon precepts to line upon line, but there are still statutes and commandments that lead to doctrine. As we journey, the most important thing is that every knowledge we have acquired leads to life. No matter the greatness of the revelation being taught, we must be able to draw life from it.
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4). The life in Jesus is the light of men. However, we are coming from the region of darkness because Lucifer polluted everything to the extent that God promised to destroy him, and he knew God meant it. (Ezek. 28:16).
“Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God ; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. [13] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.” (Ezek. 28:12-13). God made Lucifer exceptionally beautiful. Lucifer was so full of wisdom that he knew how to do just what God wanted. He was perfect in beauty; this means he was so good that he could not be improved upon. No matter the colour of our skins as men, we are all still dust; but Lucifer was made with ten of the best precious stones. He was so beautiful that other angels were envious of him.
“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so : thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. [15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. [16] By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.” (Ezek. 28:14-16). Lucifer however managed to create iniquity with the wisdom that was given to him. As such, God promised to destroy him. God will destroy anybody who has Lucifer’s nature. This is why we are talking about inheriting everlasting life and Eternal Life. We must get the life of God because anywhere God sees a nature that resembles that of Lucifer, He will destroy it.
Lucifer knows that God wants to destroy him. Therefore, he plans to first steal, kill, and destroy us because we are God’s children (Jn. 10:10). Lucifer is around whenever we are angry or when couples are fighting; he uses things like that to wreak some damages to us. Therefore, we should fight to remain humble under God.
There are two ways young people can choose who to marry. You could either choose to marry who you want or be patient to ask God who He really wants you to marry according to His plan for your lives. As women, we should marry a 'Joseph' – a just man who will not make a public shame of us (Matt. 1:19). Mary was espoused to Joseph, but before they came together she was found with a child of the Holy Ghost (Matt. 1:18). Yet, Joseph did not make her a public example. Many men today will not pass if this experiment was tried on them. Men who insult their wives are insulting God’s daughters. As sisters, there is a 'Joseph' that should marry us – one who is not willing to be rude, rough or selfish.
After this Convention, we should be able to draw life from everything we have been taught. If we do not live by them when we go back home, we have not gained anything.
“And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just…” (Luke 23:50). Here is another Joseph who was a politician, counsellor and a good man. Because he was a good man, God arranged for him to make provision for the tomb of Jesus. Therefore, as a sister, the name of one who should marry you is 'Joseph' (speaking of a good man in God's sight). God loves good men. We all must make sure we adorn the doctrine of our Lord Jesus that we are hearing with a good life (Titus 2:9-10).
Blessings!
