“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Rev. 19:10). There is something about the angel mentioned in the verse above; his proximity with the Lord made him embody so much of the Lord. Thus, John felt that he had met the Lord when the angel appeared before him. The labour and hard work of our father in the Lord, Reverend Kayode Oyegoke, in ministering and preaching to us is so that we can embody God. We will get to a point, like that angel, where people would want to fall before our feet. God wants us to embody Him.

The encounter of Moses at the burning bush looked like an encounter between Moses and God (Exo. 3:1-22). But Stephen’s account, just before He died, made us understand that it was actually an angel that Moses met with, not God (Acts 7:10). That angel, as an ambassador of God, was able to carry so much presence that made Moses believe he had seen the Lord.

“For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; [3] How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him…” (Heb. 2:2-3). These verses show that the word spoken by angels was actually the law. We tend to think that it was God who visited the patriarchs and gave them the law, but it was not so. Paul spoke about how the Lord came to expose sin because sin came from the law (Rom. 7:7). Therefore, the same life or law that angels lived by was what was brought down to the people of Israel, to expose where sin came from (Gal. 3:19). The law showed us the commandments that Satan broke in the heavens.

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. [28] And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.” (Eze. 36:26-28). One may wonder how Satan didn’t understand who Christ was. But it was because Satan had not seen his type before. If we had seen Adam when he was first created (new), we may not have understood him either. The plan of salvation has  always been before sin was introduced. Salvation was not a reaction to sin. So, that which was new was supposed to have the same progression that was listed in Ezekiel 36:26-27 — to have a new heart and a new spirit. Then, the stony heart would be taken out and a heart of flesh would then be given.

Therefore, that which was new (Adam) was meant to make so much progress in following the Lord to the point where God would trust him enough to put His Spirit in him. It is the putting of God’s Spirit in that which is new that makes him embody the Spirit of God, such that he becomes a representation of God Himself.

Jesus Christ came to earth to become another ‘new’ man so that He could take us through the process stated above, which should have taken place with Adam. By virtue of this, Christ (the nature of Christ) became that which is ‘new’. However, a new spirit still has to be put within such a stature. As this Christ stature makes progress with following the Lord, the person with this stature will get to a point where God will be able to put His spirit/law/nature within him. Then, when one looks at this person who was once Christ, He will think the person is God. And just like John did to that angel, he will fall at his feet without realizing that he is one of his brethren.

There is an embodiment that needs to take place in us, the same way the angels carry God’s presence. Where heaven wants us to get to is the point where we can embody the fullness of God's glory. But we cannot bear this now until we come into the fullness of Christ. Therefore, the essence of all that we are hearing now — the doctrine of Christ, everlasting life and God — is so that God can put His things within us. He will do this by giving us His spirit (Eze. 36:27). If we follow on well, we will bear God's spirit within us.

The things that we are hearing via preaching are for us, and not just other people. The enemy likes to show us the things that we struggle with. He has put vices around and raised ‘apostles’ in every area (on the negative) to push his agenda, thereby making it easy for us to fall victim to all sorts of vices. However, God wants to draw out light in this same generation that is in so much darkness. It is these same vessels that will be made new. After God has worked on us with the doctrine of Christ, He will be able to trust us enough to allow the Son and Father to come and abide in us (John 14:23). What God wants to give us is the thing that will make us embody Him (His spirit). This will be our testimony, for we are the ones who will be this temple of God and carry Him.

We should therefore be encouraged that these things that are being preached are for us, in spite of our current spiritual estates and any condemning thoughts that the devil may bring at us. We just need to keep listening. One day, in ages to come, we will be referred to as them that have God in them. And when people encounter us, they will think they have encountered God.
