We should strive to maximize the ability that God has given to us. Do not look at the anointing of another person; you have your own allocation; you should guard what you have. At the end of all the race, what we will enter is the joy of the Lord. Only Jesus can give you joy. Jesus is everything you need. What God has made available for you will come to you; do not look for what is not lost. You only need to connect to the source. The only satisfaction is in God. If you have God in your life, you have everything.
"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: [2]And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: [3]And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. [4]So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran." (Gen. 12:1-4). Inheritance cannot be gotten by human effort; it has to be revealed. Anything called inheritance is shown and given by God. An average human desires greatness, but we must understand that the thoughts of God regarding greatness is different from that of man. God's definition of greatness far outweighs the comprehension of human beings. God has good plans concerning us.
"And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin." (Gen. 17:24). God, the Father, is able to come and speak to us every time, but He has given us the Holy Ghost to fellowship with us all the time. Anytime God the Father speaks to us personally, He either comes to usher a new direction or it could be because He has been speaking through the Holy Ghost and we have not been listening. Abraham was 99 years old when God came to speak and make a covenant with him. God, at every phase, came to establish covenants with Abraham and this was because of the seed that God wanted to raise through Abraham. There is a seed God wants to raise in our lives and that is why we must pay attention to the speakings and dealings of God over our lives at every point in time.
Something new has begun for everyone of us and we must key into what God is doing. It is not time to give room to offenses. We must not pay attention to signals that are not bringing glory, because the enemy is trying to truncate what God is doing in our lives. The essence of offence is to hinder the glory of God. We must be mindful of this season so that we do not give room for Satan. Offence can hinder us from what God wants to do, so we must guard ourselves. If Satan cannot get us to do an obvious sin, he would set us up for offence and so we must fight it.
God blessed Abraham and made a covenant with him. Every covenant has things attached to it. Genesis 22 presented another phase of life for Abraham. God was not really after Isaac, He wanted Abraham as the sacrifice. God wanted to bring Abraham to the point where He would be unattached to Isaac and anything on earth. God wanted Abraham to connect to His original plan. The process of going to offer Isaac was to rid Abraham of all his attachment to this world. Abraham lost his life and connected to the covenant God had in mind for him.
"And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. [12]And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me." (Gen. 22:11-12).
"And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: [17]That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies…" (Gen. 22:16-17).
After the offering, Abraham could enter into the next phase of God's agenda for his life which was to bring the seed. The process of God for us would not come easy; there are sacrifices to be made and we must be prepared. The process for Ruth was also not an easy one, but God had an intention. God, through their lineage, could bring forth the seed of Christ. We must not give up on the work of God ongoing in us. We must war to bring to pass what God has ordained for our lives. Our flesh would not want us to please God but we have to war for it and as we do, heaven will open unto us and glory will rest upon our lives.
