Speaker 1: Pastor Tayo Fasan
The ministrations of everlasting life and Eternal Life coming to us this season is a clear indication that the Lord is doing a quick work amidst us; He is raising our judgment.
We must appreciate the wisdom through which God packaged His knowledge in order to relate with man. The instrumentality of God's knowledge is to bring man into the fellowship of the Godhead. This knowledge is clearly seen in the epistles (Eph. 1:17); and it is what brings man into the habitation of the Godhead.
According to the parable of the sower, there is a thief who steals the word (Matt. 13:3-19). Therefore, there is a requisite response we should have towards the word in order to profit abundantly in the season of building. This is what would make us own the knowledge of God we have acquired. When God’s knowledge becomes our possession, it becomes a light to live by.
One milestone that indicates building materials acquired (i.e., knowledge) in the soul have appreciated to a sufficient extent, is when the Spirit of might and counsel is at work to convert these materials into a state where the enemy can no longer steal them.
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;[3]That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:1,3). We see clearly that the knowledge of Eternal Life had been converted to become a light in Apostle John. It is by virtue of this light that he could access the fellowship of Eternal Life. However, understanding has to run its course for such to happen in the soul of a man.
The soul can only profit from a thing when he does its works. Every level of the word has its works. The word of Christ has its works. Everlasting life also has its works. The works of Christ are the works that would separate a believer from flesh so that he can relate with the Father. This is what brings a believer to a place where he is in light (Col. 1:12).
Apostle Paul spoke of remission (forgiveness) of sins in Colossians 1:14; and we see that by virtue of sins being deleted from the soul of a believer, such a one can relate with the Father. When the speakings that pertain to the Father is coming to us, it means a company of God’s people (saints) have experienced remission of sins.
“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light...” (Col. 1:12). What the saints are to inherit is a nature that is in the Father. Man has the honor of inheriting this nature because God has been able to successfully teach our Lord Jesus (2 Pet. 1:17).
When Satan touches the things he has access to – anything traceable to the world or this world’s goods – there is a response that everyone in light should give. This is because Satan knows that such things are potential distractions that can hinder us from partaking of what the Lord wants to give to us in a season. Apostle Paul could let go of everything that once gave him a covering, an identity, and a reputation before men because he was seeking what Christ seeks (Rom. 1:16). He got there by counting many things as loss; he counted all things but dung because he was able to redefine how to live (Phil. 3:8).
God has brought dealings upon some of our fathers in some seasons so that they can earn a testimony in the spirit. Many of them go through many things so that they can earn an honor and boldly say that they are no longer ashamed of the gospel. The gospel has dealings; and many who have kept faith with these trials (dealings) would get to a place where nothing can distract them from the unveiling of the appearance of the Lord.
There is a point where every believer would prove to God that they are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ (Rom. 1:16): this is the point of charity. The womb of such men would be able to conceive charity. This is the season when it can be said of a company of believers that they have the womb of charity which can take the next seed called the seed of everlasting life – the incorruptible seed.
“Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory...” (1 Peter 1:8). There would be a time in the life of a believer where nothing can stop him from the process of believing. This is the point of arriving at the joy in the holy place; it is the joy a believer experiences when he lands at the last veil. It is at this point that a man has come into the glory of Christ; which is the glory of faith. This is how our Lord Jesus would have the legal ground to bring the tidings of salvation.
Christ will pierce into salvation until a man’s faith is found unto praise, honor and glory (1 Pet. 1:7). The moment a believer comes to such a season, salvation is no longer negotiable. This means such a one has been able to come into the joy of faith, which is a strength. He has been able to wrestle against spirits (Eph. 6:12). We wrestle against spirits by wrestling with thoughts.
For example, some men take thoughts that are against spiritual authority, and they must wrestle with it. Some men in their thoughts even feel they cannot contain the weight of ministrations or endure the doctrine being preached. When we carry these thoughts, we are responding outside our spirit. One of the disciplines of this path is to always respond from one’s spirit.
God will help us to a point that when our outward man is tired or worn out from some obedience, there is a kind of joy our souls derive because of that sacrifice. Sometimes we may be unable to retain that joy because we need more sacrifices. We must make the daily sacrifice that will make us have the joy that the outward man is perishing and our soul (the inward man) is being renewed (2 Cor. 4:16). The outward man perishing talks about the activity of a glory of death around the body, which "faith" goes against in a measure.
The season of "everlasting life" is going to further deal with that glorying of death and then, give the soul the glory God destined it to have. Many times when we are weak in the body, the soul would be rejoicing. When we do things that are sacrificial or costly – where our humanity is shaking – we would notice a peace that we cannot comprehend or explain. This is an expression of heaven to draw near to us because of our sacrifice.
When a believer can journey to a place where his soul is one with his spirit, he will experience joy unspeakable, and eventually be full of glory (1 Pet. 1:8). Sometimes we journey to this place but the activities of the earth and the cares of this life bring us back; but a time must come when we would go into joy and not come out anymore. It is on this ground that such a soul would have the womb for the incorruptible seed.
When the outward man suffers and gets pressed because of faith, the flesh is being purified (1 Pet. 1:22). The soul must come into the heart of flesh that can relate with the speakings of a higher realm called salvation speakings. Many who have experienced the heart of flesh have the legal ground on which God can bring a higher intensity of doctrine. When a Christ company has been raised, they will have a womb that can receive the incorruptible seed.
God seeks to communicate a strength to our souls and that strength is knowledge. To process that knowledge, we would need to relate with the speakings of the Lord with consistency and focus.
