Hebrews 2:3

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him”

“So great salvation" which was first spoken by our Lord Jesus is everlasting life. Salvation is in degrees; there is salvation to the uttermost. The level of salvation that everlasting life captures for the soul is very important because the whole program of God is salvation from the beginning to the end. We are meant to be saved to the uttermost.

Romans 13:11

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”

It will take a certain level of light to wake us from sleep. We do not know how much man has slept. In the book of Ephesians, sleep was referred to as death (Eph. 5:14). Christ needs to give us light to awaken us from sleep (Eph. 5:14). "Awake to righteousness, and sin not.." (I Cor. 15:34). There is an awakening we need to come into and the essence of Christ's light is to wake us. Awakening here is not the physical waking from sleep because a man can be fully awake in the natural, yet is asleep.

Sleep here is sleep to a reality. A man that is asleep cannot respond to his environment. He does not understand whatever goes on around him at that moment. An economy of God can be brought to a man, and he will not participate in it because of sleep. This sleep is one being awake to another reality, and not awake to the present reality that has been brought to him in a certain season. There is a life we have been used to that is sleep - being awake to what we ought not to be awake to and asleep to something that we ought to be alive to. This sleep is death.

Ephesians 5:14

“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”

The verse above was addressed to believers, those who were born again meaning, this death is not the death of the spirit but of the soul. Christ uses light to wake us from sleep. Light is shed abroad in the heart. Light drives darkness away. Darkness is what makes sleep possible. In other words, when there is darkness the soul sleeps. This also applies to the body–when darkness draws close, the body shuts down while it responds in light.  The instruction in Ephesians 5:4 to arise from the dead was given because the level of darkness causing them to sleep was yet to be conquered. There is a light that is with Christ that He would give a soul to wake him up, this light is understanding (knowledge). It would make a man wake up to a reality, a life and an economy that is in Christ.

The waking that is given by Christ-light is not all the waking that there is for a man. As long as there is darkness then there is still a need for more reawakening. If there is still darkness in a man, then there is still a chance for his soul to sleep. Light would make one awake to certain realities. We have enjoyed the season of Christ because Christ gave us light. We have been open to a reality that was in Christ. A man who does not have Christ-light even though he is born again cannot see the reality in  Christ, meaning, his soul is sleeping. Many believers are sleeping. The fact that a man is born again does not mean he has conquered darkness.

Romans 13:11

"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed."

What makes it “high time” is high light. This is light at a higher dimension. To awake from sleep in high time, high light is needed. It is possible for a soul to have woken up at Christ's light and sleep at the time of high light, such a soul has not been awoken to a higher reality when it begins to dawn. Not being awake to it means that such might not have the understanding of the higher reality. "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." (Psa. 110:130). When light comes it would bring understanding. A man is sleeping towards what he has no understanding of. In other words, a man is asleep towards a reality he has no understanding of. At this point, He needs light to come.

When light comes, he is given understanding and in turn, awoken up from his sleep of a reality. There is a reality of everlasting life that is upon us as a company of people and we are now commanded that it is high time to awake again out of sleep. What a man is not aware of, he is sleeping (ignorant) concerning it. When a man is not aware of salvation, such a one is sleeping. To the degree that a man does not understand is the degree to which he is sleeping. The measure of sleep a man sleeps is according to his lack of understanding.

The soul is sleeping at different degrees, and it would take a gradual awakening till such a soul arrives at Eternal Salvation. To wake a soul up to the point of Eternal Salvation is to wake him up to the point where there is no darkness at all in him. Because Eternal salvation is coming into a full comprehension of Eternal Life (The only true God). "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true…" (1Jn. 5:20). The essence of the coming of the Son of God is to give light. Christ gives light; the Son of God also has lights to give.

Lucifer was described in scripture with all manner of precious stones (Ezek. 28:13). These precious stones are lights. These precious stones are salvation - the explanation of salvation. In other words, Lucifer had a comprehensive understanding of salvation. This is why if he captures a man, it is difficult for such a man to escape. Satan had the wisdom of salvation but not the one in the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ. The salvation he had was the one the angelic possessed. Those precious stones are light emissions, understandings. They are also eyes. Satan could see with them. The cherubic dimension Satan occupied possessed the highest salvation of the creation.

But thank God for Jesus, Jesus is not bearing the light of angels. He is bearing the light of God. He is the light of the salvation of God. The salvation of God is different from the salvation in the angelic. So Jesus is the light bearer of God. "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." (1 Jn. 5:20). The understanding of the Son of God is to make us wake up to a reality called salvation; the life that is in the true God (Eternal life).

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil”(John 3:19).  Loving darkness is what retains darkness. To love darkness is to love ignorance. Ignorance here is an understanding, but one that is inaccurate. Everlasting life is a light that is being shone by the Son of God. A soul can love darkness, that is, his present state and not be willing to migrate even though light has come (Psalm 43:3,  Isaiah 50:10).

Light comes to us for migration. But when light comes and one refuses to migrate, the reason is that such a one loves darkness, and not Christ. Christ will migrate when there is light because Jesus said, "my Father is greater than I" (Jn. 14:28). A soul that is using Christ as an excuse not to migrate, is not doing so because He loves Christ but because there is a darkness he likes.

There is a darkness that a soul can still accommodate at the level of Christ. We do not know the strength of darkness. Darkness is the strength of a cherubim that fell. When he weaves darkness in a soul, he does it in such a way that it has a grip on that soul.

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ…” (Titus 2:13). The glorious appearing means the glorious revelation. The glorious gospel is the everlasting gospel because it is the gospel of salvation. The intention of the light that is coming to us at these times is for us to understand the Saviour.

Daniel 9:24

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."

Everlasting righteousness is the righteousness of everlasting life. God's throne is established in righteousness. The law that holds the throne is in the pedigree of everlasting life. If it is an everlasting righteousness, then it is a righteousness that has been taken to the level of everlasting. We ought to be increasing in righteousness.

Jeremiah 23:6

“In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

Melchisedec did not only become righteousness but a king of it. It is possible for a man to have righteousness but not be a king. This means that person does not have the dominion of that life of righteousness. It is the everlasting covenant that establishes the dominion; it is righteousness being taken to a realm until it becomes a dominion.

Isaiah 45:17

"But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end."

Israel is Christ; it is a dimension called Christ. Israel is Jacob that has been cleansed from what makes her Jacob. Israel is not saved until she begins to receive everlasting light. It is that everlasting life that begins to open the door of everlasting salvation (Psa. 24:7). When the door is shut before a person, he will not understand. The open door is the open door to the understanding of the things that the Son of God has given to us. When the Son of God is standing as an open door, He is standing as an open door of everlasting things.

“Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?" (Isa. 55:9) In the season of the giving of everlasting life, the dragon (that old serpent) is also being dealt with. The dragon has some form of everlastingness, hence his capacity to drag-on; but as men are being taught everlasting righteousness, the dragon will be dealt with and ultimately fall. The dragon remains in the air (the soul) as long as his things exist in the soul. He would fall by the giving of everlasting righteousness (substances). When he has fallen completely in the lives of many, then it would be said, “salvation has come”.

(Isa. 55:10-11) Salvation is strength; strength against corruption, darkness, and that which makes a soul perish. The joy upon their heads means that they will wear it as a crown. Head typifies the realm of our thoughts. Ephesians 6:17 speaks of the helmet of salvation; meaning salvation will be worn as a crown. What makes a man perish is the kind of thoughts that he thinks.

Satan attacks man from his soul, knowing that through that medium, if he overcomes the soul, the body will fall. Hence, the Lord is blessing us with everlasting strength, which is able to keep us from corruption. Then, we would be able to last, and the dragon falls thereby. Sorrow makes the soul hang down. Everlasting joy (strength) upon the head is a crown. This everlasting strength is needed to obtain gladness and joy.

Everlasting light is the light of salvation (Isa. 62:1). Salvation is worked out in light (Phil. 2:12). Everyone has to use the light personally. No one can receive the salvation of another man. Salvation must be worked out personally. We work out our salvation by walking in the light of everlasting life.
