Transcript Summary
1. “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Rev. 3:21). The economy of the throne is such that it can accommodate the Father and the Son. The capacity and wisdom guiding the throne is beyond what the natural mind can understand. Both God and the Lamb reign on the throne. However, there is an economy of the throne that should be understood by man. The same throne that Jesus is seated on is the same throne that the Father has been sitting on, and this is the same throne we will be seated upon if we overcome.
2. Faith, hope and charity (1 Cor. 13:13) are properties of dominion. As we walk in love, we attain a sense of dominion. The principle of loving our brethren is a teaching on how to sit on the throne. “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” (Rom. 6:14). Sin has an intelligence to bring men under if one does not have the capacity to bring it down and reign over it. True kings are beings who can deal with laws of Satan – the law of sin and death and the law of hell and death. These are the two laws that Satan birthed after his fall.
3. Believers should not have political minds, but rather, should be beings of one dominion – the dominion of our Lord Jesus. The reason we live is to serve Jesus. We must understand that our Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). The rules of our Kingdom are the commandments of peace, joy, gentleness which have a tie to a far distant dominion. The Father gives us commandments in order to bring us to the throne; and if we do well with these commandments, He will increase them. We cannot sit on the throne when we have not mastered little commandments.
4. “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Rev. 20:4). John saw thrones but none sat on them except the martyrs. This means that one who is not a martyr is not qualified to sit on the throne. Jesus is the first born among the martyrs. For many glorious sons to be raised, Jesus had to die and then be glorified. Jesus is the first born of martyrs who died and will yet be resurrected. Hence, Jesus is everything together.
5. “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” (Heb. 2:10). Sons are those with the capacity to enable the Lamb operate in their midst. The purpose of the right hand is for the Lamb to intercede as an advocate judge until He comes into the midst of the saints and all His enemies are made His footstool. The program of saving the soul is a central program for the sake of the end. The end will not come without the salvation of the soul.
6. When a believer sins and does not ask for forgiveness, that sin will have dominion over him after a while. The soul can be trained in such a way that one will not mind, even when passing unto hell. We should not train our souls after sin! Whenever we do wrong, we should learn to ask God for forgiveness. This is not just because of the pardon we receive but because it helps to keep the soul tender. The reason we ask God for forgiveness is not for God’s sake but for ours.
7. To be seated with Christ, one must first obey the rule of the throne. To be seated at the right hand was the call of the priestly duty of Jesus. There was a need for a priest of the right hand and this is what Satan desired – he wanted to go above angels and sit with God (Isa. 14:14). However, this is not possible. The right hand position can only be occupied by a high priest. Angels are stars of the morning that Jesus had been made better than; they are also high priests but the nature of their priesthood does not enable them sit on the throne.
8. “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” (Heb. 8:6). Jesus has something to offer to God. Men commit sin as a result of false promises made to them by Satan. To commit is to give oneself to a thing. If there are no promises attached to sin, no one will commit it. If men know what God who cannot lie has promised (Tit. 1:2), we would wholeheartedly follow after God. Jesus suffered and was hung on the cross because of this promise so that men can also attain it.
9. We should break our allegiance to covenants that are not of God. Some have incisions on their bodies and claim to make covenants, but that is not what scriptures call a covenant. According to scriptures, covenants are made in the heart; they are agreements one makes to protect the promises of the giver. Satan is a high priest so he knows how to give men gifts by false promises. As such, he paints death as glory to deceive men which ensures that men are committed to sin.
10. “And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” (Rev. 5:6). The reason Jesus cannot come is because some things are occupying the midst of the saints that have to be removed. The rod of His strength should rule in the midst of the enemy. When this happens, the people will be willing in the days of God’s power. Jesus will raise men whom He will reign in the midst of, and they will turn men until enemies of the midst are vanquished.
11. Enemies of the midst stay in the midst of men by laws of darkness such men live by. If those laws are annulled from the heart of men, evil spirits will fall. A man who is not annulling laws of darkness in him will unconsciously remain under the influence of the devil. When a man is coming to salvation, evil spirits war with him. This is because Satan does not want to be removed from his midst.
12. We cannot overcome the devil with our pride, for we need wisdom to do so. Many times, meekness does not look like wisdom, but we should learn to always take the fall. Satan tells us not to take the fall, but there can never be a home if one cannot take the fall. There can never be a church if the pastor cannot take the fall. In the Kingdom, we do not stand, rather, we lie flat on the ground. We should lay down our lives – this is how to escape the adversary.
Blessings!
