Some believers get into a whole lot of mess with regards to their marriage, and some even end up in divorce because the heart has not been circumcised. Truth brings circumcision. Truth which the Holy Ghost teaches carries with it a level of circumcision that it achieves in the heart. A man who has begun to handle truth would not need to be told to live right with his wife. He knows his prayers might be hindered.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. (1 Peter 3:7). This Scripture is often misinterpreted to mean that only the prayers of the man can be hindered. No, the prayers of both the man and woman in the marriage would be hindered. But a man on the path of truth will be led. And one of the things that this leading into truth which the Holy Ghost does is that it will deal with self. Self is the root cause of problems in marriage. Self masks itself in different faces: money, sex, etc.
The biggest idol of a man is himself - what he wants to be. For example, a man may be having issues with his wife because she is not ambitious in the natural, but only pursuing God. Or a woman may be having issues with her husband because he is too slow, perhaps as a result of being led by the Lord. When a man has found mercy to be led, God takes away his strength and he cannot perform as a worldly man will. He will learn the path of waiting but the world inside a woman would look down on him, comparing him with other men in the world.
A worldly man is not a man- he is a beast. A man is one approved of God, and a man cannot be approved without being led. To be approved is to be sealed. This is the kind of man the Lord is actually looking for. If the church will just listen to Christ, the revelation and unveilings of Jesus Christ, marriage seminars would not be needed because the teaching in Ephesians 5:25-27 would be sufficient.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (Eph. 5:25). To love your wife as Christ loves the Church is a high standard and that is all the marriage seminar a man needs. If he can fully practise this instruction, he would have changed. He would have been purified. And sometimes for God to achieve this, He could give the man a person that seems unlovable. His intention is to save the man. Thus, it is not really about the marriage because marriage will end here, in this present dispensation. The aim is that we should use marriage to be saved.
