Everlasting life is God’s own life; it is the life of the Holiest of all. Therefore, it is a realm we have to tread with a lot of fear and trembling. The revelation of everlasting life is the revelation of the secrets of God, which are with them that fear Him (Psa. 25:14). Everlasting life is higher than the life of Christ.
“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.” (Psa. 103:7). Moses was different from the other high priests in Israel in his time because he could enter into the Holiest of All without the blood of bulls and goats. He could do this because he had stature and he acquired this stature by learning the ways of God.
The Holiest of All is a dreadful place; it is not a place where just anyone can enter. A man who will gain entrance into this realm must have learnt a lot, been built up and have obeyed instructions in the spirit.
We are in an era where everlasting life is being committed to us by the Father, just as He gave it to the Son (John 5:26). By doing this, God committed all judgement to Him. Judgment is what gives life to a man (John 5:22). Our Lord Jesus was raised by everlasting life, therefore, He is both an Everlasting and Eternal Man.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom. 6:23). The promise of God to man is Eternal Life, but we need to access and be raised by everlasting life before we can have Eternal Life. Servants of God are those who are obeying everlasting life, therefore, we must first be servants of God (Rom. 6:22).
When we obey everlasting judgments, we truly serve God. To serve God or be used by God does not refer to the ability to preach but to obey everlasting commandments. It is possible for one who preaches to become a castaway, if he does not obey everlasting commandments.
We have to be made free from sin before we can serve God. It is the law of Christ that makes us free from sin. We therefore have to obey the righteousness that is in Christ, so that He can move us further into everlasting life. Anyone who is not delivered from sin will not be able to comprehend everlasting life.
Service is not for sinners but for those who have been made free from sin because it is only such people that can obey everlasting commandments. The reason why the knowledge of this life is being given to us at these times is so that we can do the commandments of this life. Everlasting commandments will eliminate our natural senses and human identity, so that we can cease from our former natures. Everlasting judgment will alter our natures, for we cannot enter everlasting life with the same formations and natures we have had hitherto.
God is serious about giving us everlasting life, therefore, He is committed to giving us the judgments, doctrine and teachings of this life. Everlasting life is the life of the everlasting kingdom of God. We cannot have salvation without everlasting life. When everlasting substances are being administered to us, salvation is being ministered to us.
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding…” (Col. 1:9). Increasing in the knowledge of God means to increase in everlasting life. When we have received the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, we will be able to walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. We must walk until we become godly.
A godly man is one who is pleasing to the Lord. Thereafter, we must increase in the knowledge of God. When we increase in the knowledge of God, we can then become servants of God. Serving God has to do with knowledge, and it is the knowledge of everlasting life that will make us servants of God.
The calling to everlasting life is a heavenly one. Therefore, as we do everlasting life, we will become heavenly. Everlasting life is for brethren who have been purified in the Holy Place. Becoming heavenly will demand a lot from us because we will be stretched, but God will give us grace.
The demands of everlasting life are high because Satan has configured man to be low in the realm of the spirit. To be high in the realm of the spirit is to be little. Therefore, God will take away our loftiness and haughtiness of spirit by judgment and understanding. It takes little people to enter into life.
The demands of everlasting life will rearrange us within; they will cause us to lose certain wrong grounds that we have maintained. We would have to be given power from on high to divorce some other kinds of power. The ability to forbear faults is a kind of power in the spirit. Every man has been taught to have negative forms of powers (in the form of preeminence over others), and we all like to show them off. God will however enlighten us, so that we will cease to seek eye service or any form of show off. It is because we are not meek that we show off our preeminence over others.
Everlasting life is for ‘foolish’ people; it is for those who cannot defend themselves. We were designed by Satan to walk in the flesh and ignorance, and to despise the process of conversion to the spirit. However, ignorance only robs us of the formation of meekness and lowliness.
In this season when God has promised to give us everlasting life, it is required that we should fear and honour Him. We should also know that breaking everlasting laws would be an act of great dishonour to God. We must remember everything He went through to trap everlasting life and commit it to us.
The revelation of everlasting life is the speaking of the Lord. The speakings of the Lord may not come to us audibly. God can choose to rather impress revelations of how we would respond in certain situations, and we must obey Him. It is by words that everlasting life would be committed to us. These words may come to us very subtly and gently, but they are commandments. The Lord does not suggest, He commands and we must not refuse Him that speaks from Heaven (Heb. 12:25). The things that have configured us will be shaken by God’s speakings.
Satan configured men by an inverted heaven. Even the present bodies of men are a product of this inverted heaven. This is why the things that we were made to have dominion over began to prey on us and deteriorate our bodies, like sicknesses. The conversation that Satan taught man has weakened him, but Jesus wants to reconfigure our souls. This reconfiguration will eventually affect our bodies. As such, we must not refuse God because He wants to reconfigure us by His life.
We must be sensitive enough to hear God speak in these times because God is always speaking. This year, more speakings will come to us. The instructions and speakings of the Lord are not always loud, like that of Satan. Those instructions are voices of heaven, and they have a mission in our souls. The voice or judgments of God are usually very faint, so the soul easily excuses them.
“See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: [26] Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. (Heb. 12:25-26). The Lord can talk to us through impressions, and we must not act contrary to what we hear Him say to us. We must not despise Him. As the Lord speaks to us, He will take out wrong heavens by shaking those things that have hitherto configured us. As the Lord speaks to our spirits, we will by understanding pick His judgments.
It is possible for man to turn away from the speakings of the Lord because the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9). We turn away when we ignore the light that God shines on an issue, by excusing the impressions that the Holy Spirit lays on our hearts or by acting contrary to the knowledge we have received.
In this season, we should ask God for grace because the realm of everlasting life is not the realm of self-confidence; it is the realm of great grace. Great grace that comes from knowledge and understanding will be administered to us in this season. It is not easy to reconfigure souls because men have reaped and profited from the old configuration, which Satan gave to us.
Reconfiguration refers to a turning from our old ways to the point where we are neither ashamed nor dissatisfied that we did not react in those old ways. Some sins that we are still comfortable with will one day become shameful to us. Everlasting life will become our order, and certain reactions like retaliation, arrogance, pride and seeking the praise of men would become shameful and distasteful to us.
When pride is close to our hearts, it means that Satan is close to us. Therefore, we must be humble and stay under covering. We must learn to do the responsibilities committed to us in humility. We must know and acknowledge that we are unprofitable servants (Luke 17:10). More than what we do, the Lord judges the intents and motives of our hearts while carrying out those responsibilities, whether we do them in arrogance or pride. We must be men who even after we have obeyed all commandments required of us, will still consider ourselves as unprofitable servants.
“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear…” (Heb. 12:28). Reverence is a key commandment in this season of everlasting life. When we are faced with the challenge of alteration of nature, we must not be bold to disobey God. As He is being revealed to us, we must grow in reverence and awe for Him. Receiving everlasting commandments and obeying them must come with reverence. The voice of God will alter the natures in our souls. It will be a painful process, but we must yield to God.
“Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.’’ (Rom. 6:18). Serving God means receiving and obeying the everlasting God with reverence. This is not comfortable for the flesh because its nature would be altered in this process. However, we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be moved and so, the existing kingdom that has been configured in our souls has to be removed.
“Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? [8] Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.” (1 Cor. 6:7-8). Cheating is bad and we are not expected to cheat others. However, the bible clearly states that we should be able to allow ourselves to be cheated or defrauded. What will enable us to forbear being cheated is the light of the everlasting life. Once this life takes over our beings, that which we struggle or fight over will diminish before our eyes, even if it means losing our rights.
Our true right is to inherit the kingdom of God and nothing else. The light of everlasting life will bring us to the point where the things of this earth will no longer matter to us, as much as everlasting life does. Everlasting life reduces the quality of the world in our souls, so that we can part with our goods, reputation, honour. Everything else becomes light and weightless in the light of everlasting life. We would defer to one another by the knowledge of everlasting life because we understand that the earth or natural things are not our inheritance, and we can use them as they are provided without strife.
We must have the right attitude to things that can be shaken. Anything that can be moved is not our inheritance. The natural is for use and it would perish with use (Col. 2:22). In this realm, strife will cease because it is a realm of loving fervently.
“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently…” (1 Pet. 1:22). What hinders us from loving fervently are the impurities of the soul. Therefore, we must kill motions in our souls that are not of everlasting life. We should esteem everlasting life so highly, by reason of understanding. Then, rivalry and competition would cease and we would love to be humble. Natural excellence is not everlasting life therefore, struggling over things should cease in our midst.
Growth in stature comes by understanding. We must be able to obey instructions, so that we can walk away from our hedges or advantages. We need mercy and light to flood our hearts, so that we can know how to live. The natural has been a place of advantage to us, but we must begin to relinquish it by light, so that we can take instructions from the Spirit. It may seem as though we are losing but by the understanding of light, we will be able to walk away from all our edges, for they are death.
We need understanding and increase in everlasting light in this season, just as much as we need grace. Therefore, we need to pray to obey and serve God with fear and reverence. We also need to be strengthened to die to our rights. We must relinquish the judgment that is lower than everlasting life. We must not seek our rights on earth above the life of God.
We must pray for grace until God girts us up, like He did to Moses when he could not climb the mountain by his strength alone. We must lose our definitions, identities, and reputations and become nothing. It is not easy to become nothing however. The identities we have is the one that hell gave us. But God is helping us to relinquish them. When light comes to us, it would be easy to count all things as dung for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus (Phil. 3:8). This dung includes our achievements and identities.
In the kingdom, God does not relate with people according to their academic qualifications because we are all brethren. We must therefore be cut off from these things to stay amidst brethren. Our academic qualifications, hedges in the natural and religious portfolios of any sort are as dung before God. They are not the parameters for relevance in the kingdom. Our entrance into the kingdom is determined by how low we can become and how much reputation we can do away with.
God arranges salvation for us by putting us around those who would poke our pride and arrogance. He does this because these things must be removed from us and we must be altered. We must lose our earthly qualifications.
In our hearts, we would be impressed with the instructions of life that are peculiar to us. These instructions may not be obvious to other people but we must be careful not to disobey them.
