Transcript Summary
1. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. [17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” (Rom. 1:16-17). Man assumes to know what is right and acts from the perspective of his thoughts. Man cannot have access to God's righteousness by having his way. The righteousness of God is a result of what God reveals. Israel got to the point where they thought that they had righteousness but lost sight of salvation (Rom. 10:1). Similarly, we can become puffed up with knowledge and resort to believing we understand all that pertains to God, but lose sight of salvation. Salvation is a labour, but we ought not to be afraid; rather we should be joyful in the fact that God has given us a template – Jesus Christ. We should not get weary of the formation of Christ in us; Christ is the key to salvation. Christ is to come to us by revelation and then we obey that which has been revealed.
2. Sin and death are also a kind of a revealed life; it is doctrine based. The lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life are the doctrines of Satan; it is used to make a man worldly. A worldly man is a man that is being held by the doctrine of Satan. A matured and perfect man is a man whom Christ has worked upon to make him godly. Such a person has righteousness as his table of judgment. Elderly and matured men in the spirit do not judge rashly because of the table where they stand; they do not easily condemn other men.
3. We disdain and despise men by the activities of an evil spirit. There are things we conclude about our brethren that are not after Christ. Christ would not judge that way because His eyes are pure. The Lord wants to bring us into an everlasting life to have a judgment that is undefiled so that we cannot disdain the brethren in our hearts. If we have the attitude of condemning the brethren and believing they cannot change, we inadvertently have agreed that we also cannot change.
4. Christ is the power of God unto salvation. When we do not know Christ, then we would err. Christ is a way; faith and hope is a way, while charity is an excellent way. A man that has done charity well can be trusted by God. It is a good state to see charity as loving our brethren, but charity is more than that; charity is a revealed life. When the work of charity is done, we would be able to overcome every evil nature in our brethren because charity will instruct us. Many times, we try to use human strength to overcome natures in our brothers and those things do not work. We just need to yield to the wisdom of the Spirit. For example, the Lord might require us to buy a brother that offends us a gift, but it might be very hurtful at the time.
5. Revenge many times appeals to us but it is a disgraceful thing. When we revile back, we are picking from the table of vomit and filthiness to judge one another; the table is the heart (Isa. 28:6-8). Vomits and filthiness of evil spirits are things like offense, hate, resentment, eye service, men pleasing, hypocrisy, envy, jealousy and anger. When we use wrong laws, we reduce in the ounce of life we have gathered. Despite the innumerable things that may give us a reason to be offended at others, we can choose the way of charity. Married couples are prone to step on each other’s toes from time to time, but if we understand that our spouses are fellow heirs of the grace of life, we would relate with our wives and husbands with the laws of life. We react in a contrary way because we do not have understanding of life. Things against life are sometimes sweet to the flesh because of the lack of judgement.
6. We must get to a point where nothing of Satan remains in us; the prince of the world must find nothing of his in us just like he didn't in Jesus (John 14:30). Satan puts his things in us through his doctrine and law, but when the law of the Spirit of life in Christ is at work in a man, such a man would overcome the law of sin and death. The reason why we are coming for meetings every day is for salvation, not for any earthly placement or advantage. Our desire must not be anything earthly or for positions in the natural. We must not lose sight of salvation and righteousness. As we engage our professions, we should not lose life because righteousness should become our life. We must be very conscious of salvation. We must believe that we can become Christ. We should not allow Satan to deceive us to accuse the brethren. Satan does not mean well for anyone; he has no good intentions for anyone. All he wants is for Christ not to be manifested in our mortal bodies.
7. When the Lord is bringing His revealed life, He is bringing what will make us not ashamed; He is bringing what will take away shame. What Satan represents is shame, no matter how beautiful he presents it. When we want to take a stand against a brother, it looks as if we are doing what is right, but that thing is a great show of shame. It is a mighty show of shame. God wants to take away our shame by believing on His Only Begotten Son. Each time our pastors stand to minister, what is coming to us are those revealed nuggets that will cause us to be delivered from this life of corruption that Satan has worked in a soul. God wants to raise a people that are pure. When Christ is installed in a man, He makes a man free from corruption (2 Pet. 1:4). Such a man that is not corrupt will then be taken and be taught the incorruptible life, so that he can be fully saved. God’s heart desire for us is that we should be saved. No offense is worth losing our salvation on.
Blessings!
