Programme: Writing the Vision (November Edition)
Date: Saturday, 19th November 2022
It is not easy for the Lord to turn us from the way of death. What leads to the way of death is our rights. We are living in a world where rights are given to men, including human rights and other sorts of rights. People have rights but they do not know how those rights are depriving other people of their rights. The only right that cannot affect another person's rights is God's right.
“Shall even he that hateth right govern? And wilt thou condemn him that is most just?” (Job 34:17). The word "right" is the righteousness of God. The truth is righteousness. When you do what is right, you are made free (Jn. 8:32). The essence of "right" is to train you on how to embody governments. One of the essences of righteousness is to bring you to self-governance. We all have self on the inside and submitting to God's righteousness is the way to govern ourselves from within. This requires subjecting us from within and bringing us under submission to what God accepts and what He approves.
Death is hiding in our ways, which are our rights. Evil is the way of death and every time we resist evil, something in us dies. One of the requirements to learn and embody truth is that we must be fools (Isa. 35:8). The kind of purity that we must enter is a particular kind of holiness. This purity is not gained by fasting and praying alone. It will also take the treatment of the way of truth to make a man holy and pure and be able to attain purity.
Purity is first in the heart. It is the heart that embodies the way and this requires the tutelage of the spirit (John 16:13-14). In recent times, because of the ministry of exhortation, there has been a lot of resurgence about hearing God and His Spirit. The purpose of hearing the spirit is to learn the way. Training the heart to receive the way is accomplished by learning God's righteousness.
If women are going to master God's right as a wife, they must be ready to phase out their rights. Every husband and every wife have their rights. Even though these rights are legitimate, it is good to know that Satan can sit there and use these rights to disqualify them from entrance. We must know that God has a higher righteousness that will lead to life and when we exercise ourselves in it, a way will be formed in our souls. That way will treat all forms of uncleanness (Isa. 35:8). What we call unclean is a way in us.
It is evident, from Peter's vision in Acts 10:13-15, that the way that is in a man can be higher than the voice of the Lord. The only thing that could remove that way from a man is the leading of the Spirit. Leading Peter to Cornelius’ house was to address the way in him that was higher than the voice of the Lord and make him more flexible to the spirit. Heaven wanted to reach out to Cornelius in order to take the gospel to the Gentiles. But beyond that, as one of our pastors mentioned, God uses the infirmities of our brethren to work out the priestly ministry in us. Therefore, God wanted to bring Cornelius into the faith in the Lord Jesus but he also wanted to work out something in Apostle Peter through this design.
Some of the things we have learnt can be the reason we are not ready to journey or move forward in the things of God (Acts. 10:28). That is why Apostle Paul said “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ” (Philp. 3:7). Fellowshiping with the truth and the way is what we gain by submitting ourselves to the curriculum of the Spirit. The training and arrangement of the Holy Ghost are to take away our ways and rights. There is no way we can partake of a level of truth until we give ourselves to the instructions of the spirit.
The Holy Ghost should guide us and lead us into all truth. The essence of revelation is to open our ears (Psa. 40:6-7); it is as we hear doctrine that our ears are open. The essence of opening our ears is to give our hearts to obedience as even our Lord was put under teachers (Isa. 30:20-21).
The Holy Ghost is our teacher but He also puts men over us as teachers. These teachers stand in different places of authority and are placed for the purpose of training us in the way. We cannot boast that we know anything. This way we are being exposed to is a new way and there are people who have gone ahead of us, and they are to help instruct us. As we hear, we can discern the voice differently from the strangers.
Our ways are our rights and the Lord brings teachers our way so that we can be rid of these evil ways in us. We must know that the essence of knowledge is to open us up. It is to give us ears to hear the season of writing the truth in our hearts so that we can come into a season where we can cut covenants. God wants to use every situation and person around us to take away the evil ways in us. God wants to establish His own righteousness in us which is according to the truth.
Blessings!
Summary
1. What keeps us in the way of death is our rights. We live in a world that is full of rights: human rights and all sorts of rights. In trying to claim rights, other people's rights have been taken away. The only right that does not affect other people's rights is God's right.
2. The true "right" is the righteousness of God (Job 34:17). Truth is righteousness and when we do what is right, we are made free (John 8:32). We all have 'self' on the inside, and this is why we must submit to God's righteousness because it is the only way to govern the element of self that is within us.
3. If women are going to master God's right as a wife, they must be ready to phase out their rights. Husbands and wives have their rights. Even though these rights are legitimate, Satan can use them to disqualify a man from entrance. God has a higher righteousness that will lead us to life. When we exercise ourselves in it, a way will be formed in our souls.
4. By submitting ourselves to the curriculum of the Spirit, we gain fellowship with the truth and the way. The training and arrangement of the Holy Ghost are to take away our ways and rights. There is no way we can partake of a level of truth until we give ourselves to the instructions of the Spirit.
5. The essence of revelation is to open our ears (Ps. 40:6-7). When we are hearing doctrine, our spiritual senses open up. However, knowledge is not the end because it only awakens us on the inside. The essence of opening our ears is to give our hearts to obedience.
