Programme: Tuesday Prayer Meeting (TPM)
Date: Tuesday, 5th April 2022
Ministering: Pastor Thompson Ehima
We are living in a very peculiar season when the emphasis has been on living and abiding – the two components of the incorruptible seed. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Cor. 6:17).
God’s intention is to make a people abide in the land and He does mind not separating a people for this. As such, there is a need to understand the law of separation. This law of separation is beyond the separation from being an unbeliever – it is the law of the Levites.
The process of the Levites being taken from among the children of Israel is where the context of the word separation was taken from. The Lord wants to separate a people to enter into the land of the living. The Levites among the children of Israel accessed the land of the living while the other ten tribes received a physical land in the Middle East called Palestine. According to the law in the Old Testament, the Levites were not to own the physical land because God was their inheritance (Deut. 10:9).
The promise to bring Israel to their own land was an earthly promise (Ezek. 34:13) but there are also precious promises (2 Pet. 1:4) to come into the land of the living. David, by the help of the Spirit, broke into the understanding of these precious promises (Ps. 142:5).
The land of promise really was not what the eleven tribes of Israel inherited, for it was instead inherited by a separate people called the Levites. However, the Levites could not abide in this land, so they had to raise another priesthood after the order of Melchizedek that could abide forever in the land of the living. The promise land is the land of the living which the Levites were given when God said He was their inheritance.
The focus for God has always been the people staying in the land. Land in this context is the land of the living where the priests must abide. Staying in the land of the living is where the preservation of the whole land of Israel lies.
“But unto the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come…” (Deu. 12:5). There is a place where God chooses. We must learn the discipline of the priest and the Levites which are a shadow so that we might know how to live and abide in our inheritance.
The incorruptible seed is to deliver the inheritance unto us, but we need the training of the promised land – a lesson on how to live and abide in the inheritance. This is because the inheritance is incorruptible, undefiled and does not fade away (1 Pet. 1:4).
Flesh and blood are a kind of negative love (1 John 2:15). We need mercy to understand scriptures because John in this scripture was addressing the love of the world, not just the things of the world. The love of the world is not dealt with until one has come into the season of everlasting life but the doctrine of Christ is used to deal with the things of the world.
The love of the world is the love of the father of this world – Satan. To love the world and to love the things of the world are not the same. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 John 2:15-17). Verse 15 of this scripture addresses the love of the world while verses 16 and 17 addresses the things that are in the world.
“[22] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts…” (Eph. 4:20-22). Lust is a design of Satan aimed at projecting a deceitful life to man. “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” (1 Tim. 2:14). What made Eve fall was different from what made Adam fall. To understand what lust is, we need to trace it back to the beginning. Eve fell because of lust, but the sin of Adam was not lust. The strength of lust is deception; Satan packages a life to man that appears to be true but it is false.
The preaching of Christ is to enlighten the eyes to discern deceit that Satan has packaged as life. There is nothing wrong with having worldly possessions, but the thought that accompanies those possessions that makes one feel he has a better life than his brother is a deception. It is not everyone that has the love of the world in them, rather, what most men lust after are the things in the world. It is the love of the world that will raise the man of sin (2 Thess 2:3).
(2 Thess. 2:10). A soul must have everlasting life not to perish. Those in this scripture perished because they refused the love of the truth. All deceivableness of unrighteousness are hindrances that prevent a man from obtaining salvation. Deliverance from this hindrance comes by loving the truth. To love not the truth is to love not the Father (1 John 2:15). A man who does not love the truth will fall prey to all deceivableness of unrighteousness.
Satan has packaged deception as life for man. The law of sin and death is the formula of life that men are living. The law of sin and death are packages of lust to deceive men. Men that love the things of the world are living in deceit. Satan anointed the earth with lust and fashioned it as a life for men to live. The essence of the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:2) is to make men free from the deception of lust.
There is the youthful/fleshly lusts. When something is in its youthfulness, it implies that it has not reached full age. The youthful lust is not the full image of that life. Youthful lust is not what you find among young ones. It is beyond natural age, for one can be aged in the natural and have youthful lusts.
There are stratas in what Satan has designed. There is a strata in sins. Youthful lust refers to a strata of sin. There is a man of sin – one who bears the full stature of sin. However, there is also a youth in sin; one arrayed with lust. The love of the world is not a temptation for babes, but for men in the spirit. Satan brings it to men with stature in the spirit like our Lord Jesus (Luke 4:1-13).
“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. [6] And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.” (Luke 4:5-6). The kingdom and the glory of this world here are components of the love of the world and they are for princes. What Satan tempted Jesus was love; flesh and blood are love.
The love of the Father is the love of the will of the Father. "If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."(1 John 2:15b). Here, John was teaching the principle of abiding. He later began to xray the things that are in the world, the lust of the flesh and the eyes and the pride of life. These things are of the world, not of the Father.
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." (1 John 2:16-17) There is a love of the Father for abiding forever. What abides forever is a product of the will of God. "...but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." The will of God here is the everlasting will, it is a work, the will of God is a work. It is a work that we are to prove (Romans 12:1-2).
Proving is working. The academic world is very rigorous when it comes to gathering its results and findings. The law of gravity is proven and accepted by all and it has the same effects on everyone that engages it.
The will of God is also the incorruptible seed. “...Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth...” (James 1:18a). The word of truth here is the incorruptible seed. The good, the acceptable and the perfect wills are products of being begotten. The incorruptible seed has will/work to reveal. The works to be revealed are living works.
Good and acceptable works make us live.
God wants us to live in His sight which means to live in His presence. To be living, a man must love. All incorruptible works are love. Just as faith, hope and charity makes a man live, the incorruptible makes man live as well.
"For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; quickeneth he Son quickeneth whom he will." (John 5:21) The dead here refer to those unaware of the things of the Father; they are asleep in the realm of everlasting. They are still being held in the dust of the earth. "...And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt…"(Daniel 12:2). The dust of the earth here means limitations of man. These limitations are the reason man has to be redeemed from flesh and blood; flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor.15:50).
"And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment…" (Philippians 1:9) This conversation we are about to open up is about love abounding. The thrust of all these doctrines is that love needs to abound because iniquity (another love) is abounding (Matt. 24:12). This is why one cannot stay in charity, else iniquity will catch up with one.
"Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." (Psalm 51:5) Iniquity was found in Lucifer as a result of his merchandise; exchange. Man has been merchandising with iniquity since the fall. The spirit and soul of a new born is a gift from God. However, the parents that received this gift have been fashioned by iniquity. Just like leprosy is treated by being exiled, if you do not want iniquity to spread, a spirit and soul must not be sent into a vessel. Satan did a work–he put a force of corruption in the body.
Iniquity is the law of the fallen Cherub; it was originated and birthed by Satan. Satan transgressed; he broke the laws of God that were in him and when one transgress laws, he generates sin and iniquity (more laws). What births corruption is the force of iniquity.
Flesh is a law that has succeeded in marrying not just humanity but also angelic beings. This is why Jesus had to purge the heavens after His resurrection. The Heavens were not meant to wax old when God created it but because of the work of Satan in the heavens, it will pass away (Heb. 1:11).
(Romans 12:1-2) When love abounds, it is to prove. God told the children of Israel to serve Him with all. You serve God by love – service is love. 'Holy' and 'acceptable' is a living sacrifice, a program that will enable one to live.
Things that are excellent are everlasting things (Philippians 1:10, Matt 5:20). Exceeding righteousness is everlasting righteousness. There is a commandment that one will keep that will cause you to live but living is not a guarantee that you will not fall. You need to find a love that will make you forever secure.
God is forever secure in love; He cannot be tempted. When something is abiding, such a thing cannot be tempted; that soul has found an abiding place. There is a love that is perfect, that will cast out all fear (1Jn. 4:18, Heb. 2:5). Iniquity is love; the incorruptible seed is also love but the love is calibrated.
It is not only man that has flesh and blood, angels also have it – this is why they can offer it to man. You cannot offer what you do not have. Corruption is love but the answer of God to this, is to train us and cause us to appreciate into abiding love.
"And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem…" (Isaiah 4:3). You will not be called holy until you have been written among the living; then you can remain in Zion. We must come to the place where we want His name and His name is His love.
