Transcript Summary
1. It is 'spirit' that is being ministered to us at every proclamation of the 'word' (Jn. 6:63). The revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ brings a lot of grace and spirit; it constitutes a formation of spiritual substances that a man can receive and align with. This means spirit can be given, formed and raised in a man. It is when men are made/raised into spirits that they can do the incorruptible; the flesh cannot do the incorruptible.
2. (1 Cor. 2: 6-8). God is so magnanimous that He wants to bring us into things that make Him unchangeable from one age to another. Those things are the things He has prepared for us; they are the exceedingly glorious things He wants to use to frame us. Those things are the "hidden wisdom" that we need, to come into the glory that God had ordained for us. However, this hidden wisdom is prepared for those who are perfect. Those who are perfect are those who have used the wisdom of Christ to come up to perfection. This is the wisdom of Christ which Paul preached (1 Cor. 1: 23-24). Christ is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption (1 Cor. 1: 30). These are the things that Christ embodied as the perfect man.
3. There is a righteousness in Christ that a soul must come into (Rom. 1: 16-17). This righteousness must be revealed, and a man must walk in it for him to be made perfect. The doctrine of Christ will bring sanctification and cleansing (Eph. 5: 26). God wants us to be holy and it is important that we perfect holiness in the fear of God in this season (2 Corin. 7:1). There is a holiness that the soul of a man comes into when he obeys the doctrine of Christ being revealed to him. The reason we are blessed with spiritual blessings is so that we can be holy and without blame before God (Eph. 1: 4).
4. After the new birth experience, a believer needs the milk of the word before he can take the meat of the word called Christ (1 Cor. 3:2). We cannot comprehend Christ if we have not taken 'milk' and weaned from it (Isa. 28:9). The milk of the word helps us to overcome basic issues of the flesh. If we have not fulfilled repentance from dead works (Heb. 6:1), we cannot do the righteousness that is in Christ.
5. As believers, our conscience ought to speak to us when we do wrong things. We begin to learn these qualities from the training of repentance from dead works. There is a kind of separation that such qualities give us in our daily activities. Most times, we get into trouble because we do not obey our spirit. God knows our weaknesses and He leads us away from them so that we do not fall. His desire and ordination for us is that we should be holy. When the Spirit says ‘no’ in a particular situation we find ourselves in, we should not attempt to manage it. We should never feel confident that we can manage such situations because there can be danger ahead.
6. We can never be separated and cleansed if we do not follow the leading of the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit is about obeying instructions of the Spirit (Gal. 5:16). The Holy Ghost can instruct us not to go into some relationships. If we disobey such instructions, we would not have the grace to stay holy in such relationships. At times, it may not be time for us to go into a relationship because we cannot handle our emotions; this is why the Lord says ‘no’ through our spirits. When we obey the leading of the Spirit, we would be strong in the area of overcoming sexual sin. When a relationship is becoming dangerous, we would receive signals from our spirit to break it off.
7. The Lord begins to make us holy even from the time of 'milk'. The new birth experience is not powerless. There is a lifestyle in the doctrine of the milk of the word; this is the beginning of our cleansing to take the meat of the word. He that is weaned from milk can then take knowledge, which is the revelation of Christ. The preaching of Christ is for the sanctification and washing of the soul.
8. There is a level of holiness we attain by the doing of Christ. The end of the teaching of Christ is charity; this makes us a perfect man. This is one thing that the Lord must finish doing inside us. Charity is in levels, and it detaches us from the world. There are properties in Christ that can separate the soul of a man. When we really do charity, it will not be too difficult to take the incorruptible because the soul would have been exercised by dealings of charity. Charity is not only taught; we are also led through it by instructions that will make us detach from our own things. This is the preparation of a man for the incorruptible.
9. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Cor. 2:9). "Them that love Him" are those who have obeyed the doctrine of Christ in order to come into the things of God prepared for them. These preparations are not visible things because eyes do not see them; they are spiritual and divine things that can make a man divine; they are the things of God that are incorruptible. Incorruptible things are prepared for them who have been made holy by the allocation of Christ. There is another level of holiness that the incorruptible seed will deliver to such men; it will deliver a cleansing that will produce a glorious Church (Eph. 5:26-27).
10. We can know how a person truly is by how they handle money. Money is the root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10) and it should be treated lightly. Even if we get cheated, we should be able to turn our backs on it. We must be careful how we love money. As believers, we must be able to control our appetite for plenty of money. One of the places the Lord would check in on us is how we handle money. Greed must be dealt with in our souls. If unbelievers are greedy, it is their nature; but this must not be mentioned amidst us. As believers, we must exercise our souls with doctrine; we must not defraud our brother. If we defraud our brother, then we cannot be made incorruptible. There is no sanctification without the opening of our eyes. The giving of Christ treats and heals blindness gradually (Eph. 4:17-18). It is blindness that makes a believer want to live for vanity and the corruptible.
11. (Eph. 4:17). Christ trains the heart with godliness and contentment. The absence of faith in the heart is the reason many believers steal. When we are cheated, the reason we can move on is because there is faith in the heart. We must get to a point where we do not want to be associated with quarrels on money matters. God will give us substances of cleansing that will separate us from such uncleanness.
12. When Christ opens our eyes beyond the natural to the invisible, that is the beginning of the training for the incorruptible. When the eyes of our understanding are being enlightened (Eph. 1:18), we are being prepared to take something higher than what is seen. The opening of the eyes brings separation from what is seen. We cannot be separated if our eyes are not opened to greater realities. The opening of eyes is for the purpose of cleansing so that we can be made holy. We must be holy because we have been ordained to be holy (Eph. 1:4). We cannot come to glory without being holy. Christ makes us holy so that we can take the things of glory.
Blessings!
