Transcript Summary
1. “So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:” (Rev. 17:3-4). This woman is Babylon and her clothing is not one that was generated from natural textiles. The purple and scarlet garment speaks of the fact that the woman has honour and glory. This shows that the woman was not initially impoverished, desolate, rejected etc. She was endowed with riches and decked with precious stones and pearls. However, she later lost her glory in Revelation 18. Babylon which was built by Satan to house souls was now being inhabited by devils, fowl spirits, unclean and hateful birds (Rev. 18:1-2).
2. The woman was arrayed in scarlet and purple-coloured garment, but the beast was not arrayed. The scarlet colour of the beast is one that is inwardly generated. This tells us that the level of wickedness of the woman is not at the same degree as that of the beast. There is an innate nature inside of an array. This means the colour of the beast is not just something he put upon but an inheritance inside of the beast. The beast only carried the woman because she had something in common with the beast which is the scarlet-coloured garment. Without the scarlet-coloured garment, the woman will not be able to relate with the beast. The colour of the woman is initially purple, but she later went on to receive the scarlet colour. There are two dimensions to the iniquity that this woman carries, she is firstly the house of sin and death and then a mini wicked habitation. She is not full of wickedness. If she was full of wickedness or has the pedigree of the temple that the antichrist can enter, the antichrist would not have done away with her (Rev. 17:16).
3. It is the drink of Babylon that is weakening the church, and many believers are drinking of her. Some preachers are drunk with the wine of her fornication. Many things are in Babylon, she has a connection with kings of the earth. This is to ensure the continuity of her reign. She is aware that there are successions in kingdoms, so she positions herself as one who is beneficial to every king. Some people say that New York City is the Babylon that shall soon be burnt, but that is not so. Babylon is the foundation for carnal souls, but she will be removed and will not be found in the soul of men anymore. The fire that would burn her is not a physical one, but a spiritual law that will be unleashed and that will terminate her in one day. There will not be a fire in the natural, but it is a reality of burning in the spirit. This spiritual law will make Babylon obsolete, in the next system that the beast will perpetuate.
4. The suppliers of the scarlet garment are spirits; they are false spirits. Falsehood speaks of a lower version of a lie. Falsehood precedes lies. The false prophets came but the liar came later. The antichrist is the lie while his prophet is the falsehood. Falsehood comes before lies. Loving lies makes one a complete lake material (Rev. 21:8). So the antichrist was the lie, but the false prophets came in 1 John 4 came to teach the world Satan’s judgment or to teach the woman to wear the scarlet-coloured garment. This is to make her grip stronger on souls. The false prophet enters the world to array her with scarlet-coloured garments (1 John 4:1). This is what the Bible refers to as scarlet-coloured sins. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18). The scarlet dimension of iniquity is high, the scarlet is a blasphemous garment.
5. To reason with God is to deal with iniquity, and it is as we fellowship with the Father and the Son. Scarlet is the first thing God deals with in this fellowship. It means that there is an inheritance of false judgment in every man. So we need light, we must come to God’s judgment. When God is giving judgment, He is giving light (1 John 1:5). When God is reasoning with us, we are made to see how iniquity was laid in our minds. This reasoning world is the world of the doctrine of the Father and the Son (2 John 1:9). God is saying that the thoughts that man is carrying are wicked, and those are not really man’s thoughts. Man’s thought has been lost a long time ago. Every person on earth is mad because man keeps doing the same wrong thing even after realising that what they are doing is wrong and useless. This is a disease, and it is madness because man does not know how to reason in the right way. Everlasting life is the restoration of accurate reasoning that God has ordained for man. This is so that man can think well like God.
6. Crimson is stronger than scarlet, scarlet is a journey to crimson (or red). Scarlet is blocked red while crimson is pure red. The antichrist had scarlet colour and it is enough to banish him into the lake of fire, but he is not crimson. The dragon is the crimson or red dragon. God is also sardine (or red) stone. No one gave Satan the red garment; it came as a result of the complete immortalisation of sin in him. Satan sinned to the uttermost, but our Lord Jesus obeyed until He became a true crimson. One can enter scarlet, but it is not easy to enter crimson.
