The cherubims of glory are the first work of God. God wrought a mighty work in the cherubims; it was the perfection of the work of God. Had Lucifer not fallen, we would not have known how deep that work was. God was intentional about the work He did in the cherubims (Eze. 28:12-14). He perfected the first work once and for all.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.” (Psalm 139:14-15). God also engaged discretion when He was making Adam, and saw that everything was good. When God finished the work on earth, He rested. This means that every other thing that happened on earth from the time that God rested till the time of Malachi, was all what God had done in the beginning. God made creation to show forth His glory; everything was created for God's pleasure (Rev. 4:11). The more invisible a creature or work is, the more pleasure it can generate to God.
The present creation are the works of God. He created a work to have dominion over works (Ps. 8:1-6). He also created cherubims to have dominion over the present. This means you cannot have dominion without works. What Satan stole from Adam was the work that God did in Adam. When he destroyed those works, he destroyed Adam and this gave him authority to stay on earth. Immediately this work was tampered with, other works began to show up until man became flesh, which is another work. Flesh is an expression of a work in the spirit; it has its laws that run it.
Laws are working principles that give expression to life. There is no way you can express a life without the law of that life being in you. Every nation has laws that rule them. At the time Satan fell, God had already concluded the whole of creation but had to wait for all the testament of the first creation to be fulfilled. This speaks of the long-suffering of God. The fulfillment of those laws is to roll the first creation away. God had to raise another Man (Jesus) in order for Him to conclude the earth and bring forth another. Then for the first time, God rose from His rest and began to do a special work. Jesus was the epitome of the creation of God. He was not made so; rather, He grew into that state (Isa. 53:2).
The laws given in Deuteronomy were against the formation of the new creation. New creation is supposed to obey the works that have been done in it, and not to live by external laws. When an external law rules a man, such a man has been defeated. God knew that the law of Moses could not deliver man, but that sin would be made exceedingly sinful through the law (Rom. 7:13). Satan made man to break laws so that he can take over man's territory. Seeking what to eat, drink or be clothed in is a law that violates the law of creation. What Satan did was to teach creation foolishness.
“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? [14] And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. [15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? [16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 16:13-17). Their response about Jesus being Elijah or one of the prophets showed that they had the thought of reincarnation, which is a teaching and error from hell. Flesh had a revelation of how Jesus should look like. When flesh and blood has not been healed of its infirmities of judgement, it will fail to interpret what God is saying. Hence, the first work God does in a man is to give him eyes to be able to see and judge accurately.
The disciples of Jesus earlier witnessed when the dove rested on Jesus and declared Him the Son of God (Matt. 3:17); yet, they did not have the accurate revelation of Jesus. Something shrouded the revelation of Jesus. Therefore, until the saying becomes your saying, you cannot do the work. Angels know Jesus is Christ but they do not see Him. If Satan and his angels know Christ as the Father does, they will not have crucified Him (1 Cor. 2:8). That means there is a limitation upon creation to see Christ. Without the sighting of Christ, we cannot have His work in us.
The reason why man was created is for involvement in (the work of) Christ (being done in him). The Father showed that there is no way the church can be built without His involvement. This means the Father must consistently speak and reveal who the Son is. There must be sighting of the works of Christ and it is the responsibility of the Father to ensure this. What should make a man rejoice is that he sees (Lk. 10:20). Seeing the works of God is the beginning of bringing man out of the earth. When God begins to visit man with His thoughts, it is the beginning of the demonstration of the love of God. The love of God is not evident in our outward prosperity; it is a man with limitations that will measure the love of God by how much God is able to meet his natural needs.
“But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” (John 5:17). There was a work God was doing which no man knew about except the man, Jesus. In the realm of the heavenlies, the Father is working and no one is seeing the Father; even angels do not know. If you can sight the works of God, you can be where He is. When God wants to bless a man, He shows him works. We are who we are by works. The greatest prayer of any man should be to see the Father; one can see Christ and not see the Father.
Every work that God is doing is to bring forth a new thing. When God was training the Son to become Christ, it was a Christ that the present creation could not match. What God used to raise Jesus as Christ was the word in Him; He was showing the Son what He was doing. What destroyed man was that he saw something, obeyed it and then became it. So what will raise man is something higher that he should see.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.” (John 5:21-26). The Father was able to give life to the Son because life is transferred by works. The proclamation of the works of God is a sign that He is about to give life (Rev. 22:12). What makes a man is works.
“For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; [20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled” (Colossians 1:19-21). The reason we are not doing well and pleasing God despite our several attempts to obey commandments, is because a work has not been done. We are carrying negative works that are hindering us from doing the good works. Also, any form of obedience that is being carried out is because a work has been done. The reason why sin stays is because of flesh. One lapse in the law of Moses is that it cannot wrought any work in man.
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:” (Rom. 8:2-3). A work had been done in man before the law of Moses was given. When this law began to war against the work that had already been done in man, it became weak because it had a barrier. This barrier is known as flesh. The reason why sin is resident in us is because of flesh. This therefore means that flesh is higher than the earth, the first heaven and second heaven. It is an entity of the third heaven.
The entities in the third heaven are works. These entities, like Lucifer, have the stature of Christ, the Father and God in them. This was why when Lucifer fell, all the natures within him became perverted. Consequently, man became at war with three strata of works.
The statures of Christ, the Father and God were raised for us in Jesus. Until the revelation of the Father came to us, we used to think that the learning of faith, hope and charity in the season of Christ was the utmost. However, anytime the Father wants to bring us into another level of love, He shows us another work. The revelation of faith, hope and charity is the demonstration of a level of love.
“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40).The first labour in inheriting Eternal Life is to see. We must see the Son. It is not easy to see Him, for when we see Him, we must believe on Him. It is when we believe on Him that we will have everlasting life and be raised up. This means that our resurrection comes after we have believed. The Father showed Himself to the Son, and the Son will do the same to us. It is the Father that gives the revelation of the Son because that knowledge is exclusively by the power of the Father.
There are people that the Father gave to the Son. On the day of Pentecost, the Father gave the whole church to the Holy Ghost and then, the Holy Ghost trained them to learn Christ. After that, He gave them to the Son. These people are not ordinary people, they are the “people of God”. Some were given to the Son to see everlasting life because the Son of God is everlasting life (John 6:40).
If what we are seeing is Christ, we would have Christ and if it is everlasting life, we would also have everlasting life. There is no way we can see the Son if we do not see Christ first. The Son of God is an entity of everlasting life. We must obey God and increase in obedience so that we can cross to this realm to see the Son. The way we can cross into this realm is the same way we can turn back from it because there is something in man that can make him draw back after seeing the Son.
It is not easy to cross into the realm of seeing the Son. We are supposed to be His sheep—ones that can be led without any tendency of turning back. Sadly however, we all have the tendency to turn back when we see Him. The reason is because when we see him, we will ‘die’ (lose our flesh nature). The work of everlasting life is to kill flesh in us. Jesus was demonstrating the wisdom of everlasting life when He spoke of the corn that fell to the ground and died (John 12:24). This is why many will turn back, for they will not agree with the Son; they will not be able to submit to all His terms and conditions.
The time or season of everlasting life is the time of doctrine; it is a season to kill death by death. Before we can see everlasting life, we must be ready to die to our flesh natures. There is still a life in us that belongs to Satan; that life is death. We have to cooperate with God by believing in Jesus, for Him to work everlasting life in us. The time of everlasting life is a time of dying to self. It is a time to kill the things that the doctrine of Christ cannot kill.
Jesus became obedient to the death of the cross; this death is administered to Him by everlasting life. To finish the last work, a man will first have to die and then be raised up again. Everlasting life is a great work. The Father did the work and presented it to the Son, who also did it. The Son was doing the word by hearing. His life was a regimented one because He always had to hear the Father.
We have many distractions that prevent us from hearing but if we are regimented in our lifestyle, like Jesus was, we will overcome them. It is because of the everlasting distractions that are against us that our salvation work will take long. It is another work that will deliver us from the everlasting problem that is facing us, which comprises the cares of this life from birth to death.
The end of everlasting life is that man would die. After the man is dead, he will then rest. He would reach a state where he cannot do anything except what he sees his Father do. Jesus’ statement, “the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do” is an everlasting statement (John 5:19).
There is a work that Jesus was doing and anyone who believes in Him at the pedigree of Him being an everlasting man must do those works too. When we do these works, we will also enter the realm of no impossibility. This realm is a realm of answers to prayers. It is not a realm of confession. When we get to the level where we do the things that are pleasing in God’s sight, whatever we ask of Him will be done.
We cannot yet ask accordingly now because we have not attained the stature of the everlasting man. But when we are raised, our requests would change. At that time, a man who is dead would be asking to be raised.
What killed the Son is everlasting life. This is not a physical death however. This death means dying to a life that is not according to the life of God. The Father raised Jesus from the dead and clothed Him in glory. It was only the Father that was working in Him as at the time when He was buried. At this point, He was helpless. Everlasting life took him to the grave but everlasting life will also raise Him up.
“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, [20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,” (Eph. 1:19-20). God wrought a work in Jesus while He was on earth, and another while He was in hell. The work that was wrought in hell is what is called glory. There is no way God can do this work in us if we are not committed to hearing. We must continually hear and labour for the meat that endures to everlasting life (John 6:27-28). To do the work of God, we must believe in Him and we must also die. By the time the Son is fully unveiled, we must be quickened to believe in Him. We must be purged of every work of sin that will make us reject the work of everlasting life.
“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40). In the process of believing to have everlasting life, some negative spirits are also around. This is why the churches in Revelation were becoming weary. The spirits or doctrines of Balaam, Nicolaitans, and Jezebel may not look evil but they are evil because they are against everlasting life. The time of the revelation of the doctrine of everlasting life is when Jesus will greatly intercede for us because we must overcome these evil spirits.
