Suffering unto Everlasting Life (PM)

Text: Hebrews 2:9-10

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. [10] For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” (Heb. 2:9-10).

This scripture talks about God the Father bringing many sons to glory. For God to do this, He had to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Sons cannot be brought into glory except God reconciles them unto "all things". There are different grades of “All Things” – at the realm of Christ and at the realm of God, but they are all for God and by God (Rom. 11:36). For the sake of "All Things", the Captain of the sons who will be brought to glory had to taste death and be made perfect through sufferings.

To come into glory, you need to experience the operation of All Things. Our God Himself is Glory and there are things that work for glory. As such, you cannot get to glory when you bypass All Things. “All Things” are not things of man; they are not things of creature but the things of God.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor. 5:17). It is clear that "old things" are properties of the "old man",  while "new things" are properties of the "New Man" (Christ). And "all things" are the "things of God".

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen." (John 21:25).

Jesus did some works that were not visible, and these works were uncountable. These invisible works were archived in the spirit, and no earthly book could contain them.

"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." (John 20:31).

Jesus, as the Christ and as the Son of God are not the same beings. At a point, Jesus got to the stature of Christ. However, He grew further to become the Son of God. As Christ, Jesus came into "New Things", but as the Son of God, He came into "All Things". Jesus finished the course of Christ and then embodied the stature of Christ. It was after Jesus became Christ that the Father brought forth demands of everlasting life to Him, which He began to do. While Jesus was on earth, He was working with everlasting life and obeyed its demands.

“The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand [36] He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:35-36).

This means everlasting life can be committed to you at different intervals. The demands of everlasting life were placed on Jesus by the Father, and He obeyed it.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). In this scripture, the use of “should” means that everlasting life is not committed immediately to anyone who "believes in" Him -- via the New Birth. You still need to "believe on" the Son to have everlasting life (John 3:35-36). Anyone who believes on Him believes everything of Him; such a one believes everything He stands for. To believe on Him is to receive His entire being in your soul. One who believes on Him has moved from "New Things" (the realm of Christ) to "All Things" (the realm of God). Those who do not believe on the Son of God will experience the wrath of God (Rev. 16).

It is possible to have everlasting life and then lose it. This is because Satan does not war against those who are Christ; he wars against those who are on the path to receiving everlasting life. Fallen spirits with everlasting covenants war against such sons. However, we need to go through sufferings (Heb. 2:10) to be equipped to overcome these fallen everlasting spirits.

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son” (Rev. 21:7). Inheriting "All Things" means inheriting "Everlasting Life". This is what grants you access to Eternal Life – the reward.

On the cross, Jesus called the Father “God” when He was made sin. This was done in pain when He tasted sin (Matt. 27:46). Jesus did not have a relationship with the person of God until He was hung on the cross. Jesus is both a Son of the Father and God (Eph. 1:3). The Son of the Father is the "Everlasting Son" while the Son of God is the "Eternal Son". The realm of Christ that Jesus came into was a different allocation from the realm of the Son of God He further came into.

"For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself [26] And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. [27] Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice.." (John 5:26-27). Jesus was talking about a time after His own resurrection. Jesus will open the powers of resurrection so the dead can hear the voice of the Son of man. Graves have vowed that no man will hear any voice contrary to the agreement of hell and death, but the Son will break this agreement.

"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  [2] For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;  [3] How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him..." (Heb. 2:1-3).

Jesus taught the everlasting gospel; His message on earth encapsulated both New Things and All Things.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds…” (Heb. 1:1-2). All Things only answer to God, but you cannot come into All Things without the knowledge of New Things. Jesus did not just inherit All Things, He was also appointed to give All Things.

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding All Things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high…” (Heb. 1:3). Jesus is the illuminator of All Things and the image of the invisible God (Col. 1:15); He is holding All Things by the word of God.

You cannot access word without understanding (Ps. 119:130). Immediately your understanding is open, Word will find the entrance and you have inherited something. The first phase of inheritance occurs by understanding. When wisdom and understanding are at work, an inheritance has been received and such a person will behave in a different manner. A soul that is showing a certain sign of understanding has grown in wisdom. This sign of understanding is an initiation that stands out in the realm of the spirit.

Spirits see and know those that have come into understanding. However, some people shut their eyes to understanding. When you hear about Christ, but hate it or kill it, you are guilty in the realm of the spirit and have shut yourself out eternally. The Owner of this Word is not human – He has terror so do not ever disobey Him.

Jesus is coming by the pull of preaching and all eyes shall see Him. We need to have a mind of one who is looking for the Lord; we need to come to that point where we are ready to bring Jesus to earth. Our work is to keep beholding until our Lord appears. The mirror of the perfect law of liberty is activated by sight – by looking into it (Jam. 1:25). When this occurs, the Lord will appear.

Anyone who disobeys the Gospel of Christ is doing so because of the presence of this world in the soul – such a person has a standard that is rooted in this world.

The Captain of the sons of glory was made perfect through suffering and He became the author of eternal salvation (Heb. 5:9). The reason for the Captain means is to save the sons of glory to the uttermost.

“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, [12] Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.” (Heb. 2:11-12). Brethren are those who have obeyed the water of sanctification, which is Christ.

Mary gave birth to flesh, not the Son of God, and this flesh grew gradually into Christ and eventually into the Son of God. Christ is an intermediary between flesh and God. The Son of God is God Himself; He is the fulness of God that a man came to embody. This is why the fulness of the Godhead dwells in the Son of God (Col 2:9). Sonship is an identity that carries the fulness of God.

Brethren are those who have finished the course of Christ, who can now be adopted into the fulness of brotherhood – brethren in the Most Holy Place. New things are of God and they serve All Things, which then serve God. All things are by God and for God, as such, you cannot have All Things and not serve God.

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? [32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8:31-32). All things here are things of God.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” (1 Cor. 2:12). These things are freely given because no price can be placed on it because Jesus had paid the price; He tasted death for us. These things are received by understanding; they are freely given to us that we may have life. The evidence of one who has everlasting life is not in the physical but in one’s response to God in obedience.

To bring everlasting life into fruition, Jesus had to suffer – certain things had to be denied of Him. Jesus suffered some things in His journey on earth because of the demands of obedience. This means He was not allowed to do what He wanted because of everlasting life. Jesus wanted to go up in the spirit, therefore, He had to suffer some things. In the same way, we also have to go through things because of everlasting life.

Satan will come with different thoughts to take our focus away from everlasting life, but do not let such thoughts steal life from you because hearing the words of everlasting life is a privilege.

You need to be trained with suffering – if you are not trained, you will not earn Eternal Life. No one can go through the tribulations Jesus went through; the sufferings we are required to go through are only light afflictions that will work out a more exceeding weight of glory (2 Cor. 4:17). These sufferings are trainings that keep one steady on the path of everlasting life, so one can be properly cultured in the things of everlasting life.

God restrains us from some things out of love, with the aim of preserving us. God loves all His children, but He manifests His love much more to those who love Him truly. The Father loves the Son (John 5:20) because of His desire to make the Father happy.

Jesus at the age of 12 already had a love for the Father (Luke 2:49). At times, we need to see God as helpless and desire to know His reaction to our decisions. This is a heart of love! A lover will want to be committed to the Father’s things so that the Father can be pleased. When you are a lover of God, you will consider all aspects before making decisions. This is the kind of relationship between Jesus and God – He loves the Father and the Father loves Him.

We need to have one heart – to love the Father. You will last when you fall in love with the Father, for the Father will make sure such people last. This is why those that do the will of God will abide forever (1 John 2:17).

Everlasting life awakens fellowship with the Father; it gives all access to the Father. Those who are willing to allow God train them will inherit everlasting life!
