The Essence of Obeying the Commandment of Everlasting Life (WTV)

"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." (Prov. 4:18). This is evident in the season that we are because until we get to the perfect day, the light must keep shining. The commandment of the Lord to us is to walk in the light continually. As we do this, we will also profit with regards to our health in the natural. This is why God is bringing light for us to walk.

The everlasting gospel is the real gospel. The essence of every other learning that precedes this gospel is to equip us to receive it. A carnal man cannot receive the everlasting gospel at once because it is the gospel of the holiest realm; it is the gospel that pertains to God. It is impossible for such a man to receive substances of the things of God (1 Cor. 2:14).

At the new birth, every man is still carnal because no man is born as a spiritual man. The manifestation of spiritual gifts like the Word of Wisdom or Word of Knowledge does not make a man spiritual. The training of milk raises a kind of heart attitude in the soul of the believer. It is good for everyone to accept whatever state they are in the spirit, so that they can receive help. Many people who were influential before they became born again still want to be influential in church, after the new birth. However, they do not know that their statuses in the world does not equate to their statuses in the church. Even when a man is of a high pedigree in the world, his stature is as that of a baby when he newly joins the church as a believer. Natural maturity is not a yardstick for handling the things of the kingdom.

The reason for the new birth is so that we can inherit Everlasting Life. A new convert is first given milk, so that he can develop the ability to transit well to the point of receiving the meat of God's word and then, the strong meat. The everlasting gospel cannot be immediately received by a child because he would not be able to digest it. What God promised man is the everlasting gospel. It is this same gospel that raised the Son. As such, man cannot attain sonship if he has not lived out the everlasting gospel. The Father first demonstrated the everlasting gospel in His Son. Jesus was not initially born as a Son with the everlasting gospel; He grew into it. The process which Jesus went through in becoming the everlasting Father shows us that a man can do likewise and also attain that state.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus was born as a child, therefore, these properties could not be committed to Him at that stage. Although this prophecy was performed in Him, it is not meant for only Him. This prophecy is also meant for us. As an everlasting being in the beginning, He would not have needed to go through these processes. However, He went through the process of being a child and rose to become an everlasting Father to show us that it is also possible for us to rise and come to that state.

The Father raised the Son with substances of the everlasting gospel. The everlasting gospel refers to the things that pertain to God. Before a man can take this gospel, he must have been prepared with other levels of substances, like the milk and the doctrine of Christ.

Truth is in different levels. It is the Spirit of Truth that will guide us into all truth and take us from one level of truth to another (John 16:13). Each level of truth ought to deal with something in us. The first level of truth is supposed to heal our carnality and raise us into spirituality, so that we can be men who can relate with everlasting substances.

Our attitude to truth will determine the effect and impact of truth in us. We have to gain mastery of the truth in Christ because it is a preparation to take the truth that is in God. There is a truth in God, but it would only take those who have mastered the truth in Christ to be able to relate with that level of truth. Jesus received the knowledge of the Father and then discovered that the attitude of the Father is one that always lays down His life. He therefore learnt this life and was able to also lay down His life for the sheep (John 10:15). The knowledge He received made it possible for Him to obey those commandments.

The truth in Christ will teach us how to lay down our lives at a level, in preparation for the demand in the truth of God. A soul who has not obeyed the commandments of laying down his life for his brother at the level of Christ will find it hard to do so in the truth of God. There is an understanding that we need to have to be able to do the commandments of Truth. Esteeming your brother above yourself is a practice that you must thoroughly learn in Christ. You must intentionally magnify the excellence of your brother, even when his faults are obvious. We would become what we do over time. In Christ, there are a lot of commandments to do, which will make us become as He is.

In the realm of Everlasting Life, we are expected to lay down our lives. The height of the commandments in Everlasting Life has already been broken down in the other levels of truth. If we gain mastery at those levels, we will also do well in this height. The test of how much we have profited with the commandments of Christ is that we can easily yield in obedience to the demands of Everlasting Life. We cannot lose our lives in one day, therefore, we should gradually yield to the commandments of Christ. In Christ, we are led to deemphasize ourselves and esteem others above ourselves. We must therefore learn the attitude of laying down our lives in the level of Christ. We must learn how to love our brethren at the level of Christ.

The demonstration of Jesus' love to the Father was that He laid down His life for the sheep -- this is why the Father loves Him (John 10:17). The life Jesus laid down is different from the one He received when He rose again because He inherited something better. We must be trained with the commandments in Christ, so that we can be raised into a spiritual stature. This is because no carnal man can comprehend, obey or see Everlasting Life. It would only take the pure in heart to see God (Matt. 5:8). For a man to be purified in his heart, he must have done the commandments of life, which are the commandments of Christ (1 Peter 1:22).

We must check our attitude to the commandments of Christ because the commandments of Christ prepare us for the everlasting gospel. We must pay attention to the way we respond to the doctrine of Christ. God used His testimony to raise the Son; He also wants to use the same to raise His brethren. The full activity of the Spirit of Truth is to show all things that the Father has to the sons (John 16:13). Jesus partook of all things that the Father has and He became the Son of God thereby. Jesus wants the Spirit of Truth to also show us all things that the Father has. The things of the Father have become the things of the Son, therefore, the Son wants to give His things to His brethren.

The Son possesses the  incorruptible substances of the Incorruptible God. Jesus became the personalities listed in Isaiah 9:6 -- The Mighty God and The Everlasting Father because God poured His substances into Him. He then came to earth, to show us how a man can rise from the dust, become spiritual, receive incorruptible substances and become an everlasting father. Becoming a father in this context is not based on natural age but on how much one has learnt and obeyed everlasting righteousness. One of the commandments of this season is to reverence God because the things the Lord is saying at these times require reverence. We must therefore be careful to obey God.

We are entering a season where we have to fear God and seek to obey all the commandments that come to us. We must have great fear not to disobey God and every authority that He has set over us. We must not jeopardize obedience to the commandments of the Lord in this season because of our configurations and preferences. In these days, when everlasting things are being communicated, we must fear God.

The Bible says that wives should submit to their husbands in the fear of the Lord (Eph. 5:21-22). We must not base our obedience to everlasting life on the reasoning we gain by natural learning. Rather, we must yield in obedience based on our understanding of everlasting life and do what God commands. We must die to our reasoning. It is more profitable to have life (everlasting life) than to make natural sense.

Those whom the world considers foolish but follow the way of everlasting life will not err (Isaiah 35:8). The truth that is after Christ purifies a man. The judgement of God in the realm of Everlasting Life are His very thoughts. They are higher than death and would defeat satan. The wisdom of Satan cannot comprehend the thoughts of God. We must therefore choose to rather be foolish in terms of what the world defines as foolishness, and be connected ceaselessly to the flow of everlasting life. If Jesus chose to be correct and defend Himself, He would not have been able to ascend the everlasting heights. He did not correct all the errors that were spoken against Him, but chose not to respond. If He had chosen to defend His reputation at that time, He would have lost access to the everlasting heights.

Many jeopardize possessing everlasting substances because of their reputation. Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin was also trained and taught not to fight for his reputation. As such, he could take the fall and refuse to defend himself, even in the face of strict oppositions. He must have learnt that attitude from our Lord. Jesus did not get the state of being dumb to all the accusations raised against Him in one day; He learnt it overtime and was raised gradually. As at the time He went to the cross, His reputation did not matter to Him again. Jesus yielded to His time of learning and could therefore yield in ultimate obedience on the way to the cross. We must keep obeying the instructions that are being given to us per time because they will prepare us for greater commandments.

"Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:" (Heb. 12:28). God wants to raise us with judgement. He will first give us the judgement of Christ, which will prepare us to be able to take everlasting judgement. We are being prepared in this season by the words we are hearing, so that we would be able to receive the kingdom that cannot be moved (Heb. 12:28). We must therefore submit to the tutelage that is coming to us.

We should also revere God enough to not break His commandments. We should not obey God in an attempt to please man but to please Him (Eph 5:21). We must perfect fear in this season by obeying commandments, however little or great. We would only perfect this fear of God as a result of our love for Him. The realm of Everlasting Life is the zone of fear and reverence (Isaiah 66:2). We must profit well with the doctrine of Christ, so that we can profit well with the understanding of Everlasting Life that is being committed to us.
