The covenant of peace is the Father, while the covenant of grace is the Son, but both covenants are in the Son. This makes the Father and the Son one (John 17:21). “Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.” (Zech. 6:13). The counsel of peace is the judgment or wisdom that makes peace. Without that counsel, one cannot hold the covenant of peace. The covenant of peace is the work of the Father in the Son, while the covenant of grace is what was given to Jesus. It is the building of the Son Himself.

There are two covenants: the grace of our Lord Jesus and the love of God. The communion of the Holy Ghost is the atmosphere for the covenant (2 Cor. 13:14) because that is where the covenant is made. The covenant came from the Father who taught Jesus to be gracious. Both covenants are of the Father, for the Father bears the measure and gave it to the Son as an allocation in fatherhood. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is the gateway to everlasting life and it ends in the high work of life. This high work of life is the Father; it is peace.

Peace is the end of grace; it is a higher life for grace and an established life of grace. The nature of the incorruptible seed is that it lives and abides. Peace is an abiding law of the New Testament; it has both grace and peace within it. As such, it has both living and abiding content in it. The first person that this life was revealed to is the Son, therefore, the life was patented to Him.

"That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him." (John 5:23). Jesus was given this honour because He is the first kind of this fashion or of the form of God to pierce such dimensions of the unknown. Before this, man had not come into the realm of the unknown. This is what makes our Lord Jesus to be The First Born or The Door. Jesus used the life of His flesh to breakthrough into the Life of God. Therefore, whoever does not honour the Son cannot be honoured by the Father. But he that has the Son has the Father also. The first lesson is to become Christ, just like Jesus became (Matt. 16:16). When a man is Christ, he will become God’s son.

God was well pleased with Jesus at Jordan (Matt. 3:17). After He became Christ, He started to move on to become the abiding Son. The disciples were not reading Jesus by knowledge: there was a grace granted to know Him in the flesh (Jn. 1:14). They were called to come to behold the honour of Jesus and He was manifested to them. The synoptic gospel is a bit difficult to understand because of its kind of technology.

The disciples read Jesus by signs and He was not showing them the sign that the whole of Israel expected (1 Cor. 1:22). It is only God that can reveal Jesus to a man, not just in the spirit but also in the flesh (John 6:44). The work at the Mount of Transfiguration was a great sign; this was why He told those disciples to tell no one (Matt. 17:9). Jesus was a sign and God caused the disciples to discern Him. All the disciples saw the sign, including Judas. This was why Judas could not hold on to the money he received for giving up Jesus to the Pharisees — he knew what he had done (Matt. 27:3-5).

There are certain alignments that knowledge alone cannot give to you; there must be an appearance. Therefore, we should not be those who depend on words or letters alone. There are weights of interpretation that the sense of letters cannot arrive at. One of the great powers of the Church is to discern an apostle because apostles are the manifestation of the wisdom of God; they offer wisdom.

“Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute…” (Luke 11:49). It is not easy to know true apostles because many would have slain and killed them. It was with great power that the disciples were chosen by God to follow Jesus; it was not by their will. Following Jesus was a season of great shame and many disciples kept on departing. This is because it is not easy to see (discern). But the apostles who stayed did not leave because they had knowledge. They did not know Jesus by wisdom but by sign.

A sign is what a Jew can understand. But the sign was only given to the twelve disciples and those who followed Jesus. The reason John the Baptist announced Him was to present Him as a sign to Israel (John 1:29). The last sign was when he was received from the sight of His disciples physically. They saw him first with flesh and blood (when everybody could see Him) and then, with a glorified body (when only they could see Him). Yet, these were all carnal sightings. This was why he could eat with them. All those who saw Him were witnesses.

It is the Father that orders how we see Jesus because it is important that we see Him. Nonetheless, He is not a man whom we should see anyhow; one should not see Jesus and do things that are offensive. It was because Judas saw Jesus that the devil in Him was revealed. If you are evil, you will continue to be evil if you see Him. The first person who saw Jesus was His mother – Mary. It was a sign for her to encounter Gabriel because Jesus’ conception was a sign. He was a sign, from His birth till His death (Luke 2:12).

“And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against…” (Luke 2:34). This sign does not just refer to the miracles that Jesus did. The Jews are not moved by miracles except it shows a sign. Jesus was doing miracles before the Jews but He was not yet a sign. A time came when the sign became a voice — this was the time of the raising of Lazarus (John 11:1-44). Then, they knew that Jesus was not ordinary.

“Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. [9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.” (2 John 1:8-9). A transgressor is not one who is ignorant of the doctrine, but one who has learnt the doctrine of Christ, and has seen the way of righteousness. He that 'transgresseth' will not abide in the doctrine of Christ and he does not have God. We should not be deceived by men who claim to have Christ. Rather, we should check for the Christ formation in them. We cannot bypass the foundation of the stone called Christ because it is a requirement for the rest.

God cannot deal with a man on a higher status in the spirit without the foundation of Christ. Therefore, we must not just learn Christ but also abide in Him. This is how we will have both the Father and the Son. Jesus was Christ, He was the Son and became the Father. As the Son, He is the first mystery of the Father. Thus, there are two Fathers: the Son of God and the Father. There is the living Son of God and the abiding Son of God, who is also the begotten Son of God. There is the begotten Son and also, the only begotten Son. Jesus was begotten of God while doing or obeying the last dimension of the doctrine of the Father.

At the time Jesus taught John 14, He and Father were one. He had done the works of the Father to the finish and He did these things while He was in the flesh. It is not easy to see who Jesus really was in the days of His flesh. By the time Paul would see Him, after His resurrection, there were certain allocations He had that He did not have in the days of His flesh. It was after resurrection that God fully owned Him. At that time, He could no longer be referred to as the son of David according to the flesh because He had become David’s God (Psa. 110:1).

It will take an apostolic spirit to see the signs entrenched in the scriptures. God Almighty put them there and any time He comes, they open up. Those signs are kept by Him for a reason. They are particularly His revelation and His own things which He does not share with everyone; they are sacred things. The apostles saw signs for the purpose of witnessing. The higher your sign, the closer you will get to Him. God was drawing people by signs. The Father designed a web for connection to His Son. Bringing the twelve very closely to Jesus was a sign, including Judas.

The sign upon Judas was a strong one. He had a great bishopric; only God can tell what he should have become. However, under the season of the ministry of the Son of God, Judas was busy doing evil. We should not joke in this season because Heaven is watching us right now. We are in a terrible season, it is a season of honour. We are entering God’s glory. God is coming for us, especially leaders, and They will take all of us. Therefore, we should not joke with anything the Lord is saying.

Blessings!
