“Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.” (John 14:19). No one can live until the person has seen (understood) Jesus Christ. A man who can see Jesus will be able to see Him when the world cannot see Him. The reason for seeing Him is so that one can live. What Jesus was saying cannot be understood by an ordinary man. Jesus is a wondrous work of God, and the primary essence of the Holy Ghost is to see Jesus.
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14:16-18). Jesus was saying that even if we have the Holy Ghost, His ministry of comforting us will not cease. As such, He will still come to us to add up to the comfort that the Holy Ghost will give. The Holy Ghost came to initiate a spiritual relationship that will pave the way for another season of comfort, which will be different from the previous. Without the Spirit of God, we will not be able to receive that comfort Jesus brings; this comfort is in the spiritual.
The purpose of the Holy Ghost is to turn the body of Christ into a spiritual body that can relate to the person of Jesus, so that the body can have the capacity to see Jesus wherever He is. As such, even while the world could no longer see Him, they could still see him through a new landscape of insight and be given a new perception in the spirit, which is meant for the body. Jesus will not come to us without us seeing Him first. This is the order of life that God has ordained. That was how God made man.
We ought to know how to see seasons in the program of God. Before Jesus departed from the world, He defined spiritual seasons that should come upon the church after His departure. The first one was the infilling of the Holy Ghost. As such, what Jesus meant by the bible verse above was that after the Holy Ghost has come, it will take a little while before we will see Him. The Holy Ghost will do the preparatory work and give us the ability to see Him.
When it is time to see Jesus, God will birth the ministry that will be responsible for seeing Him. This is how God does things in the spirit. Jesus was a seer throughout His time on earth; He was seeing the Father and He saw Him until He died. However, He was not seeing Him through visions. A lot of Christians are not yet living. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is for children of God to live. However, a lot of believers are hedged in with what the Holy Ghost can do through them. They remain in a place of how to use the Holy Ghost to do things but are not allowing Him to lead them. The Holy Ghost has not led many Christians to the next place where they can see Jesus.
The highest benefit of the Holy Ghost is not His infilling or speaking in tongues or the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. It is not also the ability to pray with your spirit or the initiation with a language gift. Those are the preliminaries. Most Christians say the reason for the baptism of the Holy Ghost is to be powerful or to be able to pray, but the actual reason for the Holy Ghost is for a shift to see Jesus. As the Holy Ghost is moving you, He is positioning you in a spiritual posture or manner. It is not easy to make a man see Jesus, therefore, Jesus depended so much on the Holy Ghost to do this job. This is because without seeing Jesus, the people of God will not live.
The Godhead have a life and speaking in tongues will not make that life find expression. It will take the raising of the Holy Ghost to make that life find expression. A person can have life or be a child of God but may never live the life. The “living” Jesus was referring to is not just being alive in the spirit but having access to a particular life. There are other lower lives a believer can have or live, but that does not mean he is living. The day you became born again or filled with the Holy Ghost, you knew that something happened to you. Some of us were able to pray with joy and do many things, like evangelism, in His name. But all those things do not connote living. The life you had at that time was not Christ’s life.
Some people go into ministry with a low level of life. That is why such ministries will never be what God ordained them to be. It is not easy to make people live. Any life that you are living that the world can discern is not true life because the world should not understand you at all. The world should be incapacitated to see your life. If the world sees you and is able to comprehend you, you are not living. The reason why the world cannot see your life is because Christ is your life.
“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” (Col. 3:4). If you are in Christ and you are not living in Christ, you are not living your life. Many people in the church still live below Christ-life in the spirit—this is not talking in terms of obvious cleansing of impurities. To a lot of people, the Christian life is the teaching of abstinence from obvious sins. When you puncture the world and defeat it, you will get life. The world is a well calculated and perfect work against you having life because this world is also a life.
A child of God who still has a darkened understanding does not have life yet. This is because life is fetched from understanding, which is how you evaluate things. There is a way Satan has worked to define life to men, and it has thrived for generations. However, the heavens are celebrating that the world is being torn apart. The world has survived even in holy circles, but this world is more than your holiness.
The world now defines Christianity through serious-minded people and not Christ-minded people. However, these “serious-minded people” have a limitation. You cannot trust anything man-made or anything that is made outside God's work. If you have not received energy from the push of the Holy Ghost to make you spiritual and able to receive from Jesus, you have not started living yet. Your life is hid in Christ (Col. 3:3). It will take humility for anybody to agree with this.
You are not supposed to live your life like those who appear tough on the external. This is because nothing is tough against the world; the world is tougher than any man. The world is wicked. The only person tougher than the world is He who overcame it, and it is Him alone that can give you the life that the world is stopping you from getting. The world is evil; it is like the world preempts where God will go and what God will give. So the world does not want you to have anything outside what it can offer. The world did a perfect job but the answer to this work of the world is Christ, for He is a new instrument that the world has never seen.
The world does not refer to people. It is rather a program that exists in men which makes them not to see Jesus. The world was designed to flow after a manner that is not of God. If you want life, you have to see Jesus. While Jesus was on earth, men only saw Him through a veil and were not seeing (understanding) all of Him. However, He promised to send us the Comforter, after He left the earth.
The real reason why the Comforter came is not so that we can do miracles. His actual job is to make you live. He has a high ministry which is to quicken men from the dead. He brings solution to death and is a killer of the laws of death. We limit Him to being only the Spirit upon the Prophets of old when we think He only came to earth for miracles. He was sent to push us to a place where discerning can take place, even to the place where we can begin to see Jesus.
When your thought is far from God, and from the things of God, then you are not dwelling in life. A lot of people are zealous about ministry, but they do not have life. Life is the opening of your understanding to see the work of your enemy. When a man has a breakthrough in sight, he will be able to see what the devil has done and then change his living formula.
The first life is Jesus. Holy Ghost will always move you towards life. For you to live, you have to see Jesus. The leading of the Spirit is not automated, it is the operation of the move of God to give you life.
“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience…” (Eph. 2:2). The word ‘walk’ in the scripture above refers to how we live. Satan also leads men and the sole reason why he does so is to kill. He steals, kills and destroys by leading (John 10:10). What makes sons is leading (Rom. 8:14). If God does not correct, chastise or correct a person, then it means such a person is a bastard.
A son is someone who has acquired and trapped life. A person who has truly lived or who has been led is one who has lived by faith and has ended in charity. Seeing Jesus physically is not a yardstick for truly living. Understanding the man Christ Jesus, discerning and seeing Him with the eyes of the spirit when He is being preached to us is what it means to truly see.
When you are living by faith, you are touching the man Christ Jesus. When you have been taught and have understanding, you will eventually touch His person. The reason why people will live as unbelievers or as other Gentiles live is because of a darkened understanding (Eph. 4:18). Blindness gave birth to ignorance, but we cannot defeat that ignorance through singing or prayers. To break free from this ignorance, we have to see Jesus. We can only see Him when He is preached. Seeing Jesus means understanding Him.
The antidote to ignorance is in the preaching of the doctrine of Christ. When a preacher concludes the teaching of Christ as ineffective, it means that his understanding is unfruitful. A whole lot of people talk about Christ, but not all of them truly know Him. A person who has truly seen Christ must have seen the kind of life that is in Him. The life that is in Him is Faith, Hope and Charity (1 Cor. 13:13). Life begins when you are given an increase in understanding beyond what the world has given as life. How we live is directly a function of how we see. Christians use Jesus to pray but never live by His life.
A sign that we have truly seen Jesus is that He will cut off wrong lifestyles from us. You cannot see Jesus and continue to live in the flesh. The Holy Ghost makes us see the law that is in Christ Jesus. After we have lived, we will come to a day. We are expected to live unto a day. If the day has not shone, some things will not be made clear.
When we have lived, we will break into His commandments. These commandments are everlasting life (Jn. 12:50). We cannot have His commandments without living. Jesus’ manifestation to us is the first visitation of comfort. Before He can come to us, we must have lived. Having lived, we will do His commandments and then, His Father will love us because we have loved Him.
Loving the Lord means keeping His commandments; it also means going for everlasting life (Jn 14:15). It does not mean loving Christ but loving the Son of God, and we cannot access this love if we have not lived. We must have lived before we will be able to receive a higher dose of life that is stronger and better than the previous life. Without life, we cannot receive His commandments. His commandments are not given to dead men but to those that have lived. Therefore, we have to live.
Comfort begins when Jesus starts to manifest Himself to us. He manifests Himself for the purpose of destroying some works in us in order to take sins away (Jn. 10:10). Sin here is beyond the acts that are committed; it is a lifestyle that is higher than life. Sin refers to the works of the doer of evil. These evil works are higher than the world. The devil has two major manifestations of evil while God has two major manifestations of life. The world is a work against Christ while evil is a work against the Son; they were both designed by Satan. The world cannot be undone in a person by prayers. The first manifestation of comfort will cut down the first works of Satan.
Many believers are not expecting long engagements to undo the devil. The reason why we receive immediate work at the new birth is to make us ready to do and undo things within us (Phil. 1:6). Doing is very important for freedom—there is no freedom without work. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is a person (Rom. 8:1). God put a body around that law so that it can find expression on earth and beat the world. The other law called the Son of God is a building of God.
“Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” [29] Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” (John 6:28-29). The work of God is to believe in Him, that is, to believe in the work that has been done in Him. Believing in this context is to receive and trust the work, take it as life and do it. The purpose of manifesting Himself to us is to destroy what we call life. Satan’s form of life and everlasting life is in men on earth today. People often look for ways to ensure that they never die; this is a type of negative everlasting sense. This can make a man resist the path of being made a son.
When Jesus said He will manifest Himself to them that love Him (Jn. 14:21), He implied that He will show them an aspect of sonship that will bring destruction to the works of the devil. The first work destroys the first work of Satan. So, the first work is the manifestation of the Son without the Father. It is the first joy but it is not full. The fullness of joy comes after the second manifestation. What will make the joy full is for the Father and the Son to come to us.
“And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” (1 John 1:4). The entrance into God’s presence is entering into joy. Joy is the last dimension of the kingdom. The first is the kingdom of righteousness then, the kingdom of peace, and eventually joy (Rom. 14:17). The church John wrote to was already in the kingdom of joy, and the first crown in joy had visited them. Yet, there were still sins because the manifestation was not complete. It will take the full manifestation of the Son of God for your joy to be full. This full manifestation is to come with the Father.
Love is joy or life. As love, it is a commandment but when it is done, we get life. Therefore, love is what will be done to gain everlasting life. To get life everlasting is the deposit of the Son when He manifests Himself to you because of the love commandment. Manifesting Himself to you means that He is giving you life everlasting, and when He does that, He destroys a work of the devil. The everlasting work of the devil has its imprint on every man; it might not be audible but God sees it. Nothing is hidden from the eyes of Him with whom we have to do (Heb. 4:13).
It is essential to know that the light that is shining on us should not be trivialised. It is shining because of manifestation and visitation, otherwise, we all would not see. This is because we might not have enough stability and would want to run like others. But when God has worked in you, you will be stable like Jesus who will not do anything that Satan offers. Life is the ability to not do anything (of the enemy) from the beginning to the end. This ability makes one a man whom God will delight in. He will become an apple of His eye.
“[2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. [6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.” (1 John 3:2, 6). When God gives life, He is giving sonship. Those who are everlasting sons are still yet to become eternal sons. One who is abiding has come to the end of everlasting life, and his joy will be full. Such a man has lived and abided by the incorruptible seed.
To see the Son means to understand Him. We will keep on sinning if we have not yet seen the Son of God, not just Christ. It is by manifestation that we will see the Son and He will become clearer to us. It is by the preaching of the Son of God that He is manifested to us. When you have not seen this, you cannot stop sinning.
Anyone who hears everlasting life and rejects it is of the devil. What does this is the soul and not the spirit. If the soul becomes of the devil completely and is not careful, he will sin a sin unto death (1 Jn. 5:16). He will continue until he dies to God. When you break this everlasting law, it equips you to be more wicked and to develop a sense of wickedness.
Light makes manifest; it reveals things. It does not allow one to stay in the same place in the spirit. When you have light, you are expected to do its commandments. There is a lot around why people do not obey light or even consciously refuse light; it could be either because of fear or hatred for light because of the love of the world.
Satan always seeks to make men refuse the light. Light was brought to the church so that people can work and do the law of God. The law is the light of becoming a son of God. It is about the life that God is giving and expects people to do. The importance of that life was revealed when Jesus was angry at those Churches because some of them were unserious with work. If those churches were left alone and Jesus didn’t appear that way, they would have entered death. Jesus came to them with fierceness because He loved them (Heb. 12:6). He also knew they had an adversary who wanted them engaged in another work.
There are two kinds of sons; the everlasting son of evil and the everlasting son of God. If a man will become everlasting, there are things he must do. This should be the joy and pursuit of every man. It is a realm of joy because God and the angels rejoice in it; they rejoice because nothing can stop a man that has fulfilled all things in this realm from sitting on the throne (Heb. 12:2). If a man does not go through the works, he will not be set at the right-hand side of the Majesty on high.
To be joyful is to be in the season of bearing fruits unto everlasting life. God will partake of a man’s fruit, as evidence that the man is ripe and ready for the throne. He tastes to see who can sit on the throne. A man who abides is a man who is fruitful. The first works are of fruits; which is of a man that lives, the second works are more fruits, and this is of a man who abides. This is everlasting life.
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8). Committing sin, according to this verse is not the one-time act; it is the practice and use of sin over time. It means to carry out a job description that will see a man look like another man in the end. A man that commits sin is a doer of what the devil does. In the same way, a righteous man is a doer of things that God can do. The work of God is sonship, for this is what He does. God makes sons; He makes everlasting men. Heaven and earth put together cannot be compared to Everlasting Life.
“In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” (1 John 3:10). Our works stop us from loving our brethren. If a man’s work is evil, such would not love his brother who does righteousness. What we do hinders love. Cain hated his brother because of the works he was doing—he was doing evil but his brother’s works were righteous. However, Cain slew him because of the works he was embodying. He did not want it to manifest or come to finish.
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth…” (1 John 1:6). When one is in fellowship with God, postures of death that are hiding would be revealed. The light (which is God) x-rays creatures in the soul by the reason of the new understanding that God gives that man. It will also expose the things that have impaired his understanding. When God gives us an understanding, the things that have informed us wrongly would be exposed.
Darkness is sin. There is darkness that is sin and there is darkness that is evil. Evil is a thick darkness. There is darkness (the world), and there is thick darkness (that is higher than the world). However, there is no form of darkness in God because God does not do what Satan does. God will not give things so that others would be envious. What God does is worthy of His name. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins—from the first sin to the last sin. All these sins are a form of life. The manchild battled with the last work till he left. The last work is a death work; it is a work that people abide in.
“For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. [9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Cor. 12:8-9). It is good for us to be able to admit our wrongs and faults, and that we are weak. Paul admitted his weakness, although the pharisaical order taught him to be strong. As he yielded his strength, God gave him everlasting strength. God gave Paul abundant revelations, and this made Satan attack him. Unknown to Satan, he was undoing his own works in Paul. God wanted Satan to expire his evil deposits in Paul.
In the same way, there are some things that are present in us that God wants to expire. If some of us are allowed to continue the way we are, we would be ugly. However, as we continue in fellowship with God, our sins would be leaving us.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8). If truth is in a soul, that soul will fellowship with the Father and the Son. God can fellowship with us at any level. Fellowship is the communication of understanding and God relates with us at our various levels. We fellowship with Him at our levels of understanding, but sin can limit our communication with God. God fellowships with us to shed light and expose sin so that it can be dealt with, and we can ascend in fellowship. God will keep fellowshipping with us until the only thing that remains in us is truth. Truth is the incorruptible seed and God will take out all the darkness that would not allow it to prosper in us.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:1-2). Prosperity is coming! This prosperity is a movement into life everlasting. To prosper is to move forward and to do well in Truth. There is a prosperity of the soul. Prosperity has to do with advancement in light and breaking limitations that have hitherto held us bound, by the mercy of the Lord. We must increase in truth until fellowship becomes abundant.
The reason for fellowship is to give life. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us by imparting understanding to us. As that impartation comes, sin will leave our members. Sins are things we fellowship with and love to exalt. They have the ability to take our attention from God. Therefore, we must fellowship with righteousness. When light comes to us, we would love righteousness above all these. We must keep these things so that we can receive a full reward.
