Transcript Excerpts
1. “For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.” (Heb. 2:5). This scripture can also be married with the thought in Hebrews 1:1. God had an intention for speaking to the fathers by the prophets but what God spoke to them was lower than what the angels ahad as their word. However, it can only take a father to hear God, children cannot. Also, it takes the possession of the heart of flesh to come into fatherhood in the spirit. It is those who possess the heart of flesh that are liable to hear God. Scriptures made us understand that our Lord Jesus was made higher than beings who are referred to as “heavens” (i.e., angels) (Heb. 7:26; Psa. 103:19-22). He obtained a more excellent name or a title of an order higher than angels. Angels are priests but Jesus became a better and higher priest. So, priestly inheritance is of great significance. God can only give birth to a priest, and nothing else.
2. There are two sides to promises: the promise of God’s inheritance and the promise of God’s reward. Although the Holy Ghost is also a promise by God (Acts 2:33), there are promises of a high life in God. The Holy Ghost also has its word and corresponding life. The apostles in the book of Acts were told to go preach the word of the life of the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:20). This means that there is a life which the Holy Ghost gives, it is the faith in the Lord Jesus (Eph. 1:15). The church today has not yet fully understood that life (or name) of the Holy Ghost. Though the apostles of the Lamb taught the church all the words of this life, they needed a higher word called the word of Christ. There is another level of word which has to do with the standing up of the High Priest to commence His New Testament duty.
3. A more excellent ministry was obtained from the blood of our Lord Jesus, after He purged our sins (Heb. 9:12). What our Lord Jesus did on earth as ministry was lower than what He obtained after resurrection. God led Him to ensure He attained all the glory necessary on earth to move into a higher ministry in the heavens. It was necessary that our Lord Jesus depart from here (earth) so as to shift into another place for another ministry. It would have been difficult to finish the work of entering glory on earth without having the pattern of our Lord Jesus. However, He departed to go and work another ministry. God demanded that our Lord Jesus come in person in order to officiate that higher ministry.
4. Many people ignorantly claim to be seated with Christ in heavenly places, not knowing that the New Birth is the least of the earthly blessings in Christ. The next thing after the New Birth is being filled with the Holy Ghost; afterwards, inheriting or being sealed with the name of the Holy Ghost. The sealing of the Holy Ghost is a life in the spirit that is in the hand of the Holy Ghost (Eph. 1:13). Much more, the Holy Ghost has Immortality and Eternal Life, but love made Him condescend to us who are yet carnal. Christ cannot dwell in our hearts while we are yet carnal but Holy Ghost dwells in our regenerated spirit with the intention of projecting His life into our souls.
5. The more excellent ministry that our Lord Jesus has presently is not to the fathers of old or to the angels, but for those who have to be saved by His present person. The evangelicals have done well with the preaching of the cross (i.e., New Birth), but they need to see the documentation of God concerning the cross. Though we read the earthly biography of our Lord Jesus in the synoptic gospels, no one can tell His spiritual history except by revelation. The most that many people see concerning the present ministry of our Lord Jesus in heaven is intercession, but He is doing more than that. Our Lord Jesus has something to do with us which He could not have done without His present status in the heavens. The present status of Jesus gave Him the affordability of the dimension of a power to be able to dispense what is in the product (i.e., His blood) which is eternal redemption.
6. “hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds…” (Heb. 1:2). Our Lord Jesus was given the sole right to the inheritance, and it can never be named after any other. The inheritance speaks of the property of God; it is the “all things” of God that has the name of God, and it is branded after an allocation of a name before the beginning. The inheritance has its name, and it was patented to a man called Jesus. When Jesus was appointed the heir of all things, God relinquished the right of ownership of the inheritance to Him. Our Lord Jesus is the only one who can give the inheritance to a man. When we seek God, He touches our Lord Jesus to give it to us.
7. God gives things without repentance. That is the same way He gave things to angels in the beginning. This is why the angels holding things of the present cannot break their rank; they stand in their lot. We also have our lot, and all we are doing is so that we can stand in our lot. To stand in our lot is to not be strangers to the commonwealth of Israel and to the covenant of promise. The covenants are still strange to many Christians (Eph. 2:12). This is why a mediator is needed who will make our hearts one with the inheritance. The reason we are still strangers to the covenants is because of the presence of sins and iniquity in our souls. Sins and iniquity speak of two lives in the devil. Those are the things that separate us from the life in God.
8. Satan veiled the true definition of sin from men by giving them another idea of what sin is. This is so that sin can abide forever in the souls of men. Satan taught us that sins are limited to obvious works of the flesh like fornication, lying, adultery, cheating, killing etc. Satan did not define sin as his life that men live; so that the life will not be understood. Sin is a mystery, and we need revelation to see it. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev. 12:11). The word ‘death’ here speaks of the season of the complete expiration of the dragonic life of Satan in us. This will come about by the product (blood) that our Lord Jesus made available for us. However, this product is reserved in heaven for us, it is not in us yet (1 Pet. 1:4).
9. We need the help of the meat and strong meat of the word to see and teach what the apostles taught in the Acts of Apostles. Jesus anointed the apostles to teach what is called the apostle’s doctrine (Acts 2:42). Those doctrines were not just precepts, they were spirit life. The doctrine developed a man called Stephen, who could open heaven with his face (Acts 7:56). However, this does not mean that Stephen got to the end of the gospel. The doctrine of the Holy Ghost should make the people end up being full of the Holy Ghost. Those who benefit of the Apostles’ doctrine will move from being filled to being full of the Holy Ghost. A person is not full of faith by just reading scriptures, but by ministration of the spirit. It is those who are full of the Holy Ghost that will be sealed, and we move from being filled to being full by obedience to the Apostles’ doctrine.
10. When a minister is teaching the letters of the word, he is limited because even the letter was written by the Spirit. It is when the Spirit is being ministered that the arrangement of the letter (by the Spirit) will be seen. At Stephen’s judgment, the fullness of the Spirit further expressed itself in another wonder. However, the fullness of the Holyghost that our Lord had at Jordan is higher than that of Stephen. Scripture also told us that even John the Baptist was full of the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15). It is not knowledge that get us full of the Holyghost but the learning of the doctrine. The Spirit is a type of teaching that can trigger our wine. We should be renewing our wine level when we come for meetings.
11. “hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds…” (Heb. 1:2). The word “us” here speak of a church that ought to be fathers. A teaching priest is a father. It is only a teaching priest who can hear the Father. For a long season, Israel was without the true God and without the law because of lack of teaching priests (2 Chron. 15:3). It can only take a teaching priest to take up responsibility of Urim and Thummim. Such is a priest who is ready for the training of God’s judgment. It means that people like Paul and John had Urim and Thummim. One good way to know that someone has fullness of the Holy Ghost is by his ability to see and teach scriptures. Our Lord Jesus being full of Eternal Spirit (after resurrection) came to break the scriptures to His disciples.
12. What is in the book of Hebrews is a dispensation of the ministry of the throne of God. Sins and iniquity are a mercenary of a throne. Iniquity can be seen in the pride and ambition of nations. However, the throne of God is the throne of righteousness. God had to then raise someone who would sit on this throne. To sit on the throne is not to physically sit a man on it, but to put the throne in a man. There must not be any iota of iniquity in us, for us to sit on the throne. God must have made an end of sin in our souls before we can sit on the throne. The throne will only be apportioned to us according to our works.
13. Our Lord Jesus, by inheritance, obtained a more excellent name, which is the name of the High Priest. There is a High Priest who is entering the Most Holy place, and there is another who is seated on the throne. The latter is the one Jesus became on the third day, after His resurrection. Although Jesus had had access to the presence of God while He was on earth because He was already dealing with glory. However, the same Jesus who entered the presence of God, is the same Jesus who is now glorified, and He is praying for us to come to where He is.
Blessings!
