There is something about the prophet Malachi. The names of prophets are key; this is because these names have to do with the message. Malachi was bearing the name of the prophecy that he was bearing. The Hebrew meaning of Malachi is ‘messenger of God’. He came to prophesy about the messenger of God.
Malachi 4:4
“Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.”
Horeb is also Sinai. Malachi was making mention of the law and the commandments to Moses.
Malachi 4:5-6
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Elijah is a turner of heart. John the Baptist also came under the dispensation of this light.
Luke 1:17
“And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
“Elias” may refer to the name of the prophet who bore that name in Israel. It may also mean that he will come in the operation of the name more than the person who came before. He was prophesying about the ministry of the name. Elijah has something to do with the commandment. The name “Elijah” is a locked name. The operation of the spirit and power of Elijah is that it turns hearts. It takes some power for hearts to turn.
The word of righteousness has the power to turn a man from the love of money. We should all come to a place where we are separated from money. Jesus was fearless when it came to the issue of living without the fear of lack. But many fail to realise that Jesus was tempted before He was endowed with power. Jesus also suffered but He stayed until power came.
No matter what Satan can do to the heart, God’s power can do much more in the hearts. When men come to understand that there is nothing here on earth but deceptions, they will be free from that restless spirit that causes men to fear lack.
The problem with the disobedient is that they are fools, but the wisdom of the just is the wisdom of God (Luke 1:17). The first wisdom that will heal the heart is the wisdom of Christ, then the wisdom of God. It means John the Baptist had allocations with wisdom; he had to be made wise. Elijahs are raised by wisdom.
(Luke 1:80) “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.” John the Baptist went to the wilderness as a child and grew into wisdom. He had been living in the wilderness from about 14 -15 years old, until he was 30 years old. We should wonder how a child was surviving in the wilderness. (Matt 3:4) “And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.” John was not fasting but was living a fasted life. Spirits were upon John for him to live that way.
Malachi 4:5-6
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
This means that God will curse the earth if hearts are not turned. The tool that can turn hearts is the law. Elijah will be a marshal of the law; he is an emissary of light. Elijah is a messenger of the covenant - he is a spirit of the message of the covenant. It is a spirit that deals with the turning of the heart; meaning that God will bless a person who will yield to the spirit of Elijah.
The scripture is not referring to the ministry of reconciliation between a natural father and a child; rather, it is a spiritual code for conversion. “The children” here speak of the key to entering the kingdom. For this reason, John the Baptist started by crying in the wilderness for men to repent (Matthew 3:2). To repent is to turn.
The ministry of Elijah is the ministry of the Kingdom. In the season of initiating the New Testament, two Elijahs came: John the Baptist and The Elijah (our Lord Jesus). God gave them the wisdom of the just. Jesus was also an Elijah who did His own ministry of turning in a high capacity.
Luke 1:75-77
“In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins”
John the Baptist is a remitter of sin through the knowledge of our God. There is no man who will handle the spirit of Elijah without the commensurate growth in the spirit. Therefore, John had to be made the power and spirit of Elijah so that he could turn hearts. The outward tool for turning hearts is the Spirit upon a man, while the inward tool is the stature or knowledge of God to turn hearts. Jesus also came and did similar works. John the Baptist is the Elijah who will prepare the way for Jesus, but Jesus was the Elijah who will mediate the Spirit.
This is the actual power Elias was born with. One can only tell the spirit of Elijah by how it turns the heart. Anyone who claims to have the spirit of Elijah and cannot turn hearts, is not operating in the true order of the spirit of Elijah. (Luke 1:17) “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
The disobedient speaks of children while the just speaks of a father. A father is a wise man in the world. This scripture talks about turning the old man in the soul into a child of God. Both realms need wisdom. Therefore, a father should be made foolish to become a child. When a man is old to God, he would be a novice in God. A man who has age in this world will be foolish or unlearned to God. The tool for turning the heart is knowledge. (Luke 1:77-78)“To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us.”
A true Elijah goes for the inside of the cup and not just the surface or outside of the cup. The outside of the cup refers to obvious bad habits that man possess, but one needs wisdom to deal with the things on the inside of the cup. The old man is an arsenal, a base or land for evil spirits. This is why God said He would curse the land if it does not turn. When the knowledge of salvation is coming to a man, remission of sins is ongoing. This knowledge is tied to breaking or removing sins.
The phrase “knowledge of salvation” means knowing salvation that is relative to remission of sins. Sins are not removed by natural, carnal wisdom such as warning, rebuking etc. Sins can only be removed by light. The Church should be taught how to be saved. Salvation is God. When a man is knowing salvation, he is knowing all things. If a man translates out of his body into the other side without the knowledge of salvation in his soul, he would discover that he had been a big fool because every other knowledge he had accumulated while on earth will not be useful in that realm. Many will have great regrets in the world to come, when they realise what great thing they should have become. The things Satan presents to us in the present world are all a lie and facade.
One thing God will do before Jesus will come is to make men know what sin truly is. “Knowing sin” has two meanings:
i. to fellowship with it, and
ii. to detect or unveil it.
Immediately a man knows what sin truly is, he would begin to make decisions either to go with it or go against it. Satan is afraid of the body of Christ knowing God. We (the body of Christ) assume to know God, but we do not; we know many other things but we do not know God. God is about to educate the church and raise her with her peculiar light. This is why Elijah has to be sent. Jesus would translate Himself in people and bless them with this power of Elijah, for them to also turn hearts. Paul was an Elijah. Jesus told him that he would be an Elijah because he would turn men from darkness to light (Acts 26:18).
A man cannot know the Bible without “an Elias”. Elijah’s spirit is what holds the scripture or what wrote the bible. The wisdom of writing scriptures was by the power and spirit of Elijah. When this spirit rests on a generation, the Bible will begin to open. Malachi ended the Old Testament, then the first prophet after 400 years was John the Baptist. Someone prophesied, Elias came to herald what was prophesied, and Jesus came to enact the prophecy. Our Lord Jesus is the strong Elijah; He is the messenger of the covenant. John the Baptist prepared the way for Christ but Christ came to prepare the way for God (Malachi 3:1 )
Luke 3:4-6
“As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
The ultimate purpose is for flesh to see the salvation of God. So, the spirit of Elijah is the spirit of salvation - that’s the spirit of the covenant.
God Almighty is the Turner. The spirit of Elijah is actually God-Almighty. The ministry of Elijah is the ministry of the High Priest, or the ministry of the throne and it extends downwards. There are allocations in that ministry, such as, “a turner”, “a preparer of the way” and “he who would bring Me to come”. When the spirit of Elijah is operating, no matter the measure, he would take a portion, just like we see in Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin. He did things that will help/prepare the way of the Lord.
The adversary we are dealing with is wiser than the holiness message that the Church is preaching right now. When the Elijah spirit is in operation, our holiness will reject him. The Elijah-spirit is a tool of wisdom. If a man is not spiritually wise, he will miss out in the allocation of the spirit of Elijah. Studying and digesting Hagin’s materials will connect you to higher mantles of Elijah, especially when one learns Hagin’s spirit.
Exodus 20:1-2
“And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”
This is Elijah talking. The name “Elijah” belongs to our Lord God. This is the ministry of the throne. God was churning out laws in Horeb; He was speaking the laws which are turning keys. To operate the law, God will have to send a ministry of Elijah; He would raise many turners. The ability of the heart to turn is a work of the throne.
Psalm 80:1
“Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.”
A flock is the heritage of God to whom the allocation of turnings pertains. The spirit of Elijah is the store or house of wisdom to turn the sheep; it is the ministry of turning the flock. One of the ways He turns the flock is by leading. This ministry is a ministry of a morning star. Their nature is that they lead and shine.
Cherubims are morning stars and God is the Pastor of morning stars. Shepherds are morning stars who have access to light; they are sheep that have fulfilled their course of the perfect will of God and have been raised into the status quo of life eternal. These cherubs are emissaries of eternal life of the present, and they have a kind of reward.
Morning stars are mercy beings. The throne of mercy is the throne of the love of God. The word “seat” is a noun, while “sit” is a verb. Works are the mobile “love of God” while mercy is the static “love of God”. Mercy is the throne. God sits on mercy and not just on a wood. The wood is a shadow of a man that must be dead to carry God. The wood would be decked with gold to carry God's glory.
(Rom 9:15)“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Mercy must choose a soul first. It is the realm of the order of eternal conclusion concerning matters.
He who God has been begotten by the last love will be able to keep himself in the love of God; then He can look for the Mercy of our God unto eternal life. There is no way eternal life can be operated outside mercy. Mercy is a gift. One cannot earn mercy. Mercy decides who to come to because mercy is a throne that cannot be questioned. Everlasting life is a high grace of God.
Psalm 80:1
“Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.”
Part of the ministry of the Shepherd is that He can shine. God raised His Son to be the Shepherd of the sheep. Only Joseph allowed Himself to be led; the tribes of Benjamin, Manasseh and Ephraim did not allow God to lead them (Psalm. 80:2)..
God has worked and is still working. A time will come when He will begin to interpret His work. A day will come that the Father will work and be seen. We must do all to work with the Father. When we see Him working then we should run towards Him.
Psalm 80:4-7
“O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? [5] Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. [6] Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves. [7] Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.”
This is the ministry of the mightiest Elijah, the Turner. God himself turns. Satan used his powers to turn angels. Instead of saving them, he killed them such that God cannot repair them anymore. God is not a robot; He wants us to love Him willingly, based on our choice. However, many are misusing it and are judging God incorrectly.
Our offering and worship are to give God the blessing or choice, such that we can tell Him, “Not my will, but Your will be done’ (Luke 42:22). God would want people to choose to be saved because He is extremely gentle. The cherub that fell from heaven had seen how God shined to Joseph and how he was saved thereby. Therefore, he knows the value God placed on sheep. There is a leading in our spirit. Our spirit has a premonition and is blessed with leading that our soul does not know, but we can train the soul to align. There is a subjective leading over the soul. God brings a soul by His power to find pasture.
When we overcome, the inheritance would be brought to us. Such would inherit everything of eternal life. Jesus is an eternal Son of God and God wants us to come into this estate. He that overcomes shall inherit all things. God would be his God and He shall be His Son (Rev. 21:7).
The ark will be built and these are the substances for the building of the ark. We are supposed to be raised as arks. We are encouraged to keep listening and we would come into understanding.
