The concept of man is God’s idea. Man was created by God as an everlasting being with the intention of making him an eternal being. Man is currently below the standard of what God originally instituted. The living soul ought to be the least stature a man should have because this was the stature with which he was created.

The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit” (1. Cor. 15:45). The word ‘made’ speaks of a process which means that we can equally be made. However, as high as the living soul was, he was still lower than the angels (Ps. 8:5). The last Adam, on the other hand, was made so much better than the angels (Heb. 1:4).

The soul is precious in the sight of God. There is nothing that should be given in exchange for the soul because the life of a man does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses (Luke 12:15). A man is not defined by his material possessions but by the stature that his soul has acquired. The devil does not give anything that is lasting. What he gives are perishable and do not endure (John 6:27).

Whenever the devil offers you anything in exchange for everlasting substances, it is a sign that the thief is around. Satan does not give anything that is good. He knows that what he gives is worth nothing on earth and in the spirit. It would take a man that has acquired the substances of everlasting life to confront and defeat Satan.

The beginning man (Adam) was an everlasting man and this is the least stature that any man should have. Adam was meant to migrate from the stature of an everlasting man to that of an eternal man but he fell and was driven out of the garden of Eden. Man continued to degenerate since the fall of Adam. The strength of man continued to decline and this showed in the number of years men lived. Man was not made to die. Death is a product of the fall and disobedience.

The destiny of every sheep is to have everlasting life. It is unfortunate that men do not know this, rather they go after things that do not transcend the earth. As good as these material things are, they can only be good for use on the earth; they do not impact on the stature of a man, which is what really matters.

Sometimes parents in a bid to make their children prosper impede their spiritual growth, thirst and hunger for the things of God. It is good to know that the reason you got born again is to first have everlasting life and then eternal life. God had an intent before he made man; to make man in His image and likeness. It is the will and pleasure of God that every man fulfils this intent of His heart.

A successful man is one that has come to everlasting life. Any man that falls short of this has failed and has lived a wasteful life. It is still the will and desire of God’s heart that men would have everlasting life (John 6:40). The most important thing we should gun for is everlasting life. Men are wasting away, fulfilling the passions of the enemy, because they fall in the course of what is normal. Satan deceived man to believe that his life revolves around what to eat, what to drink and what to put on. However, this is not so; the reason for man is to be made everlasting and eternal.

Creation awaits the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom. 8:19). This manifestation is not in the gifts of the Spirit which the Spirit gives as He wills (1Cor. 12:11), rather it rallies around the stature that the soul possesses. Real men are known by the quality of life they have trapped in their souls and not by material possessions. Stature is as a result of life trapped in the soul and this happens as a soul prospers in understanding.

The mind has to be renewed and redeemed because it is naturally prone to vanity. Vanity looks normal to man because Satan has sold a wrong definition of life to man in order to thwart God’s dream and intent. The mind of a man is naturally vain because of the darkened understanding that man has bought into. This is why the program of redemption begins with the opening of the eyes.

You lay hold of the life that is in Christ by understanding. This understanding places demands on the soul. These demands are sacrifices that the soul is expected to offer to God. Satan became who he is today because he stopped sacrificing. When he did this, he turned and sold his vices, which are the products of his disobedience, to man.  On the other hand, Jesus in John 10:15, made us understand that His knowledge of the Father resulted in His laying down His life.

Accusation stems from an inability to lay one’s life down. This is why when you begin to accuse your brother, you should check if you are laying down your own life.  Charity is a life that should be lived amidst the brethren. One training you should have is to always prefer and exalt your brother. When you prefer your brother, you offer up a worthy sacrifice. The commandment in marriage, both for the man and the woman, can easily be interpreted as a call to lay down their lives.

Strife exists because of the inability of one person to lay down his or her rights. You can however offer your rights as a sacrifice to God. Jesus is still sacrificing till today because he stays in the confines of what God asks Him to do. Give God what He wants, not what you think He wants, because this is the kind of sacrifice that is pleasing to God. The revelation of Christ should raise you to become an offering and an offeror.

When you live for yourself, you cannot access life. Jesus Christ is not living for Himself. He is seated as the High Priest, living to make intercessions for us. He is living for us. “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” (2 Cor. 5:15).

The destiny of a sheep is everlasting life. Keep yielding to God until you come into the fullness of life. May everlasting life be our desire and pursuit. Amen.
