The emphasis of the Lord this season is the fellowship of the beginning, which is of the Father and His Son (1 John 1:3). This is because the Lord wants to deal with the sin from the beginning, which is iniquity. The sin that was found in Lucifer was a transaction that took place in his heart (Eze. 28:16). This means sin is beyond just actions. The bar of what we define as sin was raised when Jesus came to the earth (Matt. 5:20-48)

Christ is a cleanser because He has the ability to remit sin. Sin has made us fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). This glory is not splendour and to come short of it is to come short of the knowledge of the glory of God. The first thing that can be used to restore man to glory is knowledge. Therefore without knowledge, we cannot access glory. A person is able to deal with sin when God gives him access to knowledge.

“He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.” (Isa. 53:11). This justification is the programme of faith (Rom. 1:17). Our Lord Jesus Christ has two ministries – to justify and to bear the iniquities of many. It is through knowledge that He will justify and remit iniquity. The unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God are what Jesus Christ, as the minister of the sanctuary and the true tabernacle, uses to bring many into the justification of the faith. By the ministry of Christ, we are able to come into justification and the forgiveness of sins, through His knowledge (Heb. 8:1). This will then bring us into fellowship.

The reason for fellowship is to share God’s things with us. The reason the Word became the Son is that God wants to justify us, bear our iniquities and share His things with man. This is so that man will be able to relate with the glory of God. Beyond the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, He has a ministry on the right hand of the majesty to make intercession and supply things to us. For man to come into fellowship with God, the things that made him fall short of God’s glory must be taken away.

“So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: [8] Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor. 1:7). The Corinthian church was waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus because the testimony of Christ had been confirmed in them. The coming of our Lord Jesus refers to Jesus’ coming with the allocation of the end. There cannot be fellowship without appearance (His coming).

Jesus' coming is supposed to confirm us unto the end. To confirm us means that we should attain a state where we are blameless. A people who have sins and iniquities cannot be said to be blameless. Therefore, it can be deduced that what sin and iniquity do is prevent people from arriving at the end. The end of faith is the salvation of the soul (1 Pet. 1:9). That a person has received forgiveness of sins does not mean that the work in his soul is complete.

There is a lot of change and cleansing that is happening in our midst but we cannot rejoice yet because the work is not complete. We need to perfect our charity walk to the detail. This requires mercy because it is possible to be feasting in charity but with spots. Therefore, God has to take some time to purge us. The confirmation of the testimony of Christ and the reproduction of Christ's substances in us is not enough.

“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Cor. 1:9). We can come into the fellowship of the Son by hearing doctrine (1 Jn. 1:3). To have fellowship with the things of the beginning is to have the testimony. God wants to confirm the testimony of a people in Christ; this is what it means to be blameless.

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: [7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:6-7). We should see when we are in fellowship. To see is to discern the steps that the Son is taking in fellowship. We need to constantly judge and check how the Lord is. We would be able to discern the Son when we have exercised our senses in charity.

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light…” (Col. 1:12). Partakers are those who are enjoying fellowship. We exercise ourselves so that as we see, we are able to walk in the light. The light referred to in the scripture above is the understanding that is coming to us in the place of fellowship. With that light, we would be able to see how Jesus walked.

We need the capacity to endure the word for a long time. The place of hearing is the place of your fellowshipping. You will not be able to do (obey) if you cannot continue in hearing and following. This is the reason you must not complain about knowledge, for it is a man of knowledge who increases strength (Prov. 24:5). As we keep exercising our souls, we gain the strength to obey. This is because what God is giving to us is a multifaceted wisdom and the person (Satan) we are dealing with is full of wisdom.

“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.” (Eze. 36:25). Another word for iniquity is “idol”. Idols are in our imaginations. They are images, thoughts, promises and hopes. Satan also paints thoughts and hopes to sanctified brethren. But regardless of how seemingly beautiful those hopes are, they will pass away. When they do, those who hold unto them will also pass away with them (1 Jn. 2:17).

God is calling us into fellowship to confirm us to the end. Without entering this fellowship, we cannot be confirmed and we cannot attain a state of blamelessness. It is by purging with the blood of His Son that the Father takes away our iniquities and idols.

Blessings!
