Text: Matthew 26:25-29
What played out at the Lord’s supper was a very powerful symbolism. The Lord was unveiling the New Testament and the Kingdom of God that is going to establish us in the inheritance. The table of the Lord is the access path into the Kingdom and into all of God. It is a protocol we must observe in the spirit, if we must have eternal life. We must therefore have a part in it.
The first thing Jesus did was to bless the bread and He did the same for the cup. He eulogized the bread while He gave gratitude to God for the cup. This teaches us that the attitude of the heart is important when we want to access the Kingdom. Worship is key for us to enter the Kingdom of God. If our heart is wrong, the door would be shut.
Beyond the harmonious singing that we offer up to God when we gather together, we are also supposed to present our hearts to God. The state of heart that is required is a broken heart. A broken heart is one that constantly surrenders to His pleasure in purity, and acknowledges Him. Normally, the spirit of independence and self-sufficiency resides in the soul and it is worship that sheds this off for the purpose of entering into the newness of the Father.
We would never truly come into the New Testament without the breaking of the bread. This breaking of the bread symbolizes the act of lifting up the veil so that we may come into the Kingdom by seeking the face of God. The high priest passes the first and second veils before coming into the holiest of all. The first veil lies in the mind.
We should trust God to help us deal with presumptions. An assumption that we know so much is a state of error. We wrongly appraise ourselves when we rate ourselves based on the grounds we have covered. Rather, true appraisal is when we rate ourselves based on where we are going. God has to help us to overcome the veil of assumption that we know so much. God helped Paul to forget the things behind because he was constantly in pursuit of the Knowledge of Him that he might attain the resurrection of the dead.
The Kingdom of God is initiated by illumination. Illumination comes by revelation; if it is not revealed we can not have it. The second (thick) veil lies within the soul - self. We must therefore have an attitude that is constantly dependent on God. We need illumination to understand the ways of God. The ways of God sensitize our perception and influence the eyes of our understanding. The soul is being circumcised and the veil removed as often as sight comes.
Although the Israelites had come out of Egypt, they still desired the cucumber and garlic they had when they were there. This means that salvation does not take place all at once. We need God to roll away the reproach of Egypt and have us circumcised a second time for us to enter into rest. The children of Israel did not know that the giants of the land that they were facing were resident in their own souls. One of the cities they had to overcome were the Jebusites. Jebusite means threshing, the place of process, a breaking.
The breaking of the bread signifies the daily removal of the reproach from souls. The Lord Jesus offered that bread to His disciples to signify that the bread is strictly for disciples (John 8:31). Disciples are devotees to His ways, principles and doctrine. It is only disciples that are brought to the table to partake of the bread and the wine. The willingness to learn His ways is synonymous to readiness for the journey with Him.
God would not give the Kingdom to men who would toy with sacred things. This is why the Lord is working in the body of Christ to make it a place full of disciples. As we remain faithful to the truth, it would cause a ripple effect of judgement against all other altars and bring them down. In this new era, our Lord would be known in the church as a consuming fire and everything that is not of truth would be burnt to ashes.
The Lord is raising a true ecclesia where disciples would be raised; not a place where flesh is being indulged and vanity is being elevated. Nigeria is like a firstfruit to the nations. Nigeria is soon going to become the trumpet of the Lord and it will begin with the church. The church is going to have a voice and it will speak for the world to hear. This begins in the place of purging for true consecration to be achieved.
Eating must not cease. We must continue to consume the Lord’s body (). The knowledge of Christ must daily build up our inward man for a place of rest. He wants to domicile our souls with His glory and with Himself. This is why we have to feed. Feeding is what results in building. The word of Christ must be built in us for Him to dwell in us by faith (Ephesians 3:16-17).
Our souls are vessels capable of habitating spirits. Whatever belief systems we buy into determines the spirits we attract. Every ideology has the capacity to harness spirits. Every time the word of God is embraced, work is set in motion; and critical work is being done via this meeting. The gospel of Christ will spread out like wildfire these days. Spirits are almost thriving to occupy space in the earth but we as the church have the responsibility of denying them control when our soul is cultured by the word of God. When we are cultured by the word of God, we give the Lord the rights to control the atmosphere.
We must take responsibility in facilitating the spread of the word of God. The proclaimed word of God is what will shut down the operation of evil spirits. This gospel will spread out and infiltrate the nations. God is providing the church with a window of opportunity in order for the church to get prepared because there is something that will come upon the earth in little time. We will not approach what is coming with fear because we will know our God and we will do exploits. There is evil coming upon the earth, but the church will remain a safe haven. This church does not refer to any church but the church that is learning faith, hope and charity; the Zion church.
The weird ideologies these days are so indecent that no one will naturally buy into them, but people are being indoctrinated into these ideologies via knowledge. The only thing that can deal with such indoctrination is truth.
When the soul gets to the point of no longer acknowledging God, another spirit sets in. But the soul of America has a unique expression of the spirit of Christ. The American nation was built on the foundation of Christ but when prosperity set in, different kinds of knowledge were peddled. Satan is keen about destroying the American nation because there is something peculiar about them.
The Lord wants to drink of the cup of our souls. Hence, Paul indulges us to rid ourselves of old leaven (1 Corinthians 5:8). Therefore, we must embrace the word of God, so that daily self will be gotten rid of from our souls. We are also meant to drink of the Lord. He is an endless ocean of which we must continually drink. When we drink the Lord’s cup, we are baptised in His life. Drinking of His cup qualifies us for His glory.
Truth is dynamic. It is revealed and each revelation ought to bring about a change in the souls of men. We cannot move unless truth is unveiled. The people of Israel followed the cloud, and moved by it. When we fail to move, the beasts of the forest will catch up with us. Failure to gravitate towards the truth as it is unveiled would make men lose their discernment and tilt towards enticing words (Colossians 2:1-10). Sound judgement is a function of discernment not intellect. The Colossian church was being built up and they had order and steadfastness. They understood ranking and were very consolidated. Yet, the enemy was doing everything to distract them so that they would not come into the fullness of God that dwells in Christ.
The reason for the mysteries of the Kingdom is so that the fulness of the Godhead would find expression (Colosians 2:2). The mystery of God, the Father and Christ are three stages typified by the arrangement of the Tabernacle and the levels of bearing fruit (30, 60, 100 fold). Someone may be in the outer court and bear 100 fold increase commensurate with the amount of light revealed to him. While another might be in the holy place and bear fruit that is 30 fold. This tells us that we must continue to advance and press towards the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Because of this journey, God is comforting us by summoning us to a higher ground; and He does so as He continues to unveil truth to us. We should yield to the summoning of the Spirit. God sends help to strengthen us so that we may continue to migrate and ascend without yielding to distractions.
As we yield to this summon, we are changed into Christ-likeness. Hence, the emphasis is on the salvation of the soul. The salvation of the soul is a process and the more our soul is being saved, the more we attain sonship. Our sonship is tied to fatherhood. We are all supposed to become fathers in the spirit who can be entrusted with treasures. Fathers are keepers of valuables. They can keep track of the dealings of God. Heaven is opening us up to certain experiences which would stand out as memorials.
Mysteries are divine secrets. The word ‘mysteries’ connotes a fellowship where things are being shared only between those of that fellowship. The Godhead share a fellowship of incorruption and they want to bring us into that fellowship. The first requirement to come here is to have grace to yield to the summoning of truth as it is revealed.
Another requirement is to be knitted together in love (Colossians 2:2). We have to be responsible for one another and stand by one another. To be knitted together is to be integrated into divinity. Therefore, we have to first be one before we can be integrated into that life. For this to happen, our genetic makeup must continue to be altered daily. The Spirit must be cultivated in our souls for us to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit.
We must be committed to obeying His commandments. Obedience is not a product of legalism, but that we open up to the Holy Spirit to write His law in our hearts. We must be daily governed by the law of the Spirit, we become committed to doing His pleasure.
Going into the nations to teach the gospel is backed up by an authority (Matthew 28:19-20). This authority is governmental in its nature but different from the way government is run. Teaching in verse 19 refers to a teaching that is by life; it is obtained from the word ‘disciple’. This is because what would teach the nations is not mere speakings of one’s mouth but the manner of life we live. Our lifestyles would be the teacher to the nations. As a matter of fact, anyone who would be a preacher in this time must be sent by the Lord. The nations will respond and bow to the authority that comes from on high.
For us to carry God’s blessing we must align with His order of heaven and earth (Psalm 115:15-16). God is raising us to be people who carry the divine prototype in our inner man. That is what will equip us to disciple the nations. This prototype was seen in the days of Daniel. In his days, God was known as the ancient of days. God is presently bringing His people to come into the endless life of His agelessness. Just like in the days of Daniel, in our days there are many forms of empires at work, including social media and lawlessness. In the midst of all of these, heaven is raising a remnant generation that would lead to the break out of the revolution of the Kingdom of God. Amidst it all, the church of God would wax strong, and Christ will come in His Church.
The divine prototype is an initiative of the Ancient of days. God is raising a people who will carry the authority to disciple nations and inundate them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. To do this, we ourselves must have first been inundated with those names.
There are certain character traits that have only been embodied by the Holy Spirit. It is only by knowing Him that we can access them. There are also certain attributes of Elohim that are embodied in the Son that can only be accessed by knowing Him through fellowship. It is only by knowing all of them and fellowshipping with them that we can fully epitomize them. The Holy Spirit is the one who would integrate us into all of the Godhead. Without the Spirit, we can not inherit the Spirit, the Son or the Father.
God wants us to inherit His fullness, and we need to do so before we can go out to break the hold of corruption upon the earth. There is a place for teaching the truth of the kingdom by doctrine (Matthew 28:20); but our lifestyle must first do the teaching. This is achieved when we are given fully to the government of the Spirit, such that the Father’s cup can be given to us and from that depth we live.
