There is a way the natural mind has so much interpreted healing to us. However, it was taught yesterday that the issue of healing has much more to do with our souls than our bodies. The healing being talked about is not to heal your natural infirmities; it is to heal the infirmities in your soul. However, natural infirmities are also dealt with when we gather together. Jesus healed sicknesses (Acts 10:38) but that was just the heralding of bringing forth the message of the Kingdom. This means people should not just gather for natural healing; the essence of healing is to further gather the people to hear the message of the Kingdom that will heal their soul diseases.
Adam was meant to be healed in the garden because the gap between the Creator and creation is an infirmity that a man must be healed of. God wants to bridge that gap this season; this is why the healing of the leaves is currently being sounded. The Tree of Life is meant to bridge the gap between God and man. Everyone that has tried to bridge this gap without God has landed into issues outside of the will of God. Satan was the first that tried to do this when he wanted to come into the arena of God; and it was said that iniquity was found in him. This is because the gap was not meant to be bridged for angels but for man. God destined that only man can access or come to that state of being in His Image and Likeness (Gen. 1:26).
This shows that every one of us was born sick – as a result of infirmity in our souls. The essence of Christ is to show us our true state. As we journey, we begin to know the extent of sickness our souls have trapped. The first stage to being better is to know we are sick. Christ who is our “mirror” must be exalted so that we can see what we carry. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8)
One of the things that truth will do to us is to reveal our true state. Jesus told the Pharisees the reason why they do not see their issues is because they cannot see their true state (Matt.7:5). As such, we must acknowledge that we have sins for us to receive healing. Our eyes must be opened for us to know that we are sick. This is why we must first be born again to start the process of being healed from our sickness.
The healing of the nations is the intention of the Father to bridge the gap that existed from the beginning. The essence of the Tree of Life is to bridge that gap. When the issue of healing is being brought to us, one thing that shows up is bitterness in the soul. This is because flesh has filled that gap between us and God for a long time. When flesh is being removed, it causes us pain because we have become one with flesh. Adam did not have malice, envy and other wrong natures; but there was still a gap between him and God.
The book of Esther 2:8-17 shows how slavery was removed from Esther. Esther was a slave, and there is a way slaves look, dress and smell. Even when a slave is dressed in a king’s garment, the smell is still present. Esther desired to come into the king’s house but she could not because of her environment. As such, she needed to go through a process of purification.
“Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women…” (Esther 2:12) Esther had to go through 12 months of purification to remove slavery from her. It took this long because when the king comes around, he must not perceive the scent of slavery around anyone. This process of purification is to first be healed through the teachings of Christ so that she could be qualified to enter into the garden, to be healed of the Tree of Life. If she had not gone through the process of purification, she would have only lasted a night in the palace; but she was meant to get to the point where she would abide and go no more out (Rev. 3:12).
A slave is one who is living his life under the tutelage of Satan. When God comes near us and perceives the smell of how we live, He cannot spend a night with us because of the work Satan did in us. This is why we have to be made pure for God to find rest in us (Isa. 61:3).
We all need healing. We need to see ourselves like Esther – a slave. And even though we have been called into the courts of the king, we cannot come close to him. This is why the king has to do so much purification in His courts, so that we are qualified to come close to him.
“And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:12-14) The man who did not have on the garment for the wedding bypassed his way into the feast. For one to be qualified to attend this feast, one must have gone through the process of purification. We must be in love with the bitter (process of purification); that which the bitter will separate us from is what we have wrongly called our life. What we need to be healed of is wrong eyes because wrong eyes results in a wrong life. What you see is what you become.
One of the things the enemy did to us is that he brought something else to replace the image of God for man to behold; as such, what we look like is a fallen angel. All our wrong natures are the image of a fallen spirit and this is a wrong aroma that reminds God of Satan. As such, all our wrong natures are things we must be healed from. This process of healing (purification) takes place before the healing of nations that deals with the gap between God and man.
We need bitterness because they need to expunge what is in our heart. We need to get to the place where nothing is more important than the learning of Everlasting Life. This may seem like just a statement; but it should be lived out because certain circumstances will come that will test our priorities, where the regard for the teaching of the everlasting Gospel is in our hearts. The apostles had this regard for Everlasting Life, which is why they could desert everything for the sake of the Gospel. As we journey, we would come to this point but it does not start with sweetness.
The process of purification must not have been pleasing to Esther, but the process was a height of love in order to qualify her to spend a night with the king.
Jesus did not behold the purification; rather, He looked at the goal which was to spend a night with the king. The dealings were not sweet to Jesus but another source of joy came to Him that enabled Him go through those dealings (Heb. 12:2). There is a struggle that will continue between flesh and spirit while purification takes place. This all takes place before we experience the leaves of the Tree of Life. We have to be healed from our cultures that we have inherited. Paul was a Jew of Jews but he got to a point where his gaze was fixed solely above. This is what healing can do to a soul!
God celebrates staying with your wife rather than being an international celebrity because it takes more strength to love your wife. If you can walk in love with your wife every second of every day, you are a candidate for the Throne. This is the same love that God shows us and it is everlasting energy that enables Him to do that. It is through healing that we would also come into this everlasting energy where we can love regardless of anything.
“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). We must look at the things that are unseen to become invisible to Satan. When we do not look at the things that are unseen, we cannot become unseen people. When we become a people that are unseen, Satan will not be able to see us. Satan could decipher Adam but he could not decipher Jesus. Satan kept coming to tempt Jesus but Jesus never fell.
This present life many are living was never intended for us by God; it is a corrupted life created by Satan, which he sold to us as the normal way to live. What God is bringing our way is healing in all ramifications – from the lowest form of healing to the highest form of healing in our souls. We trust God to help us align completely with this provision.
