Revelation 21:1-4, 22
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away...[22] And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
John was a terrific Prophet. The description he gave about the City was very detailed. Everything about the City is talking about something, even though they are mentioned as things that we can relate with. Some people can be offended when statements like ‘Zion is not just a place but also a people’ are made. This is because they do not understand the scriptures of the prophets and apostles. There is a way they write; we can interpret what they wrote literally, but they also connote something in the spirit.
The Connection Between the Person and the Place
Zion is not just a place; it is also a people. In the same way, the City described in the verse above is not just a place but also a people. It is more of a state that a people will arrive at or attain in their souls. God would not have put Adam in Eden if that was not the state in his soul. It is what is inside of you that qualifies you for a state in the spirit. Hence, when Adam fell, he was removed from Eden because what was inside of him was no longer consistent with his environment. The environment does not exist on its own; what rules and controls it is from the inside of man.
Adam would not have been able to tend the garden after the fall because there was something God had put inside his soul (before the fall) for tending the garden. He was not necessarily a gardener with physical tools; he did not need to do all that because what controlled Eden was a formation on the inside of him. Eden was more of a state in the soul than something natural. Eden cannot be found presently because there are no men that can occupy it. Geographers have tried to find it but it cannot be found. It is not in existence because the souls that will sustain it are not available.
The natural is quickly falling/fizzling because the state of man is degenerating. The earth is further degenerating because souls are degenerating. The earth that was here some four thousand years ago is not the same one we have now because the earth reflects the quality of the souls of men. As such, the kind of earth we have now is the kind that is suitable for the men we have now. As man degenerates, his environment is also degenerating. Global warming is a result of the corruption inside the soul of man. However, the job of the High Priest is to cause man to appreciate. The earnest expectation of creation for the manifestation of the sons of God is because they want to be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God (Rom. 8:19-21). The sons of God hold the key to the redemption of creation.
Man's approach to the earth is to make it a better place to dwell physically, but there are laws within the earth responsible for the way it is. Shiftings happen on earth such that places that were previously seas become deserts, those that were forests become deserts, while those that were deserts become a fruitful field. Man knows nothing about the laws that govern the earth, but the connectivity between man and his environment is the state of his soul. The City (new Jerusalem - Rev. 21:2) is first of all not a place; it is more of a state in the realm of the spirit that souls should attain. When you attain something, you become it.
The Order of True Worship
Revelation 21:22
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
The Lamb is seen more in the book of Revelation, from chapter four till the end. The revelation of the Lamb is the complete revelation of the Son of God. The Son of God is meant to mirror/show God. If He is showing God, then God Himself is also a Lamb. If the temple of the City are Beings, then the City also has to be beings. God and the Lamb were said to be both the temple and the light of the City. The temple is for worship.
John 4:23
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
The true worshippers did not just arrive at that state. One cannot become a true worshipper until one has been made true. You cannot worship after the order of this temple if you are not a true worshipper; this means you will not find this temple to engage in its activities if you have not been made true. Therefore, we have to go through the process of becoming living and true. It is when one is made true that one’s soul can be called a true worshipper. True worshippers worship the Father. Jesus is a True Worshipper; this is the order of worship He came to institute.
There is an order of worship that had existed prior to the time Jesus came, which was the order of worship that was constituted by the priesthood of Aaron. Jesus brought a new order of worship that did not just begin and end at new birth. You did not become a true worshipper when you gave your life to Christ; you still worshipped like a heathen. It was by the understanding of worship you had that you approached God. This was the same issue with the Jews; they approached God with the order of worship that was in existence before Jesus came. The Gentile church wants to also go in that order, so they observe days.
The order of worship in the New Testament has not yet been seen; it is still hidden because the ones that will worship after this order have not yet appeared. The only One who appeared and was misunderstood was the Lord Jesus; He appeared and they were quick to rebuke Him. He was an offender of the existing order of worship; He chose to offend them, oftentimes by healing on the Sabbath. The people did not understand what Sabbath was. They did not know that the Son of man is the Lord of the Sabbath, and that He had the true understanding of the Sabbath. He understood that men ought to be set free on the Sabbath, but they felt He was destroying their order of worship. That was actually what He came to do because He wanted to show men another order of worship.
The Gentile church wants to follow the Jewish order of worship because they never had an order of worship; they were idol worshippers. Even after giving our lives to Christ, we still treat God the same way we treat idols. When we approach God with the mindset of always receiving, we are treating Him like an idol. Many Gentile churches are service centres where only needs are being met, but how people live their lives are not addressed. What Jesus had were disciples; His followers were called disciples, and they had to follow in His word to become disciples. Getting needs met in church seems to be the order of the day; but one of the things that the Son of God will bring to our understanding is true worship.
Who Are True Worshippers?
John 4:23
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
True worshippers are those with the ability to locate the temple. This temple is God Almighty and the Lamb. The order of worship that is after the order of the New Testament will be reinstated. It will be brought before men and we will see how man ought to worship. This is the essence of the Revelation of God Almighty and the Lamb. We do not know how to worship but we would be raised to worship after this order. We have to be made ‘true’ to worship after the true order.
Revelation 21:22
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
Although men were coming towards the Temple, they still had other temples. The Gentiles and Jews had temples, although they were lesser. They were not temples after this order. The order of worship has changed but the Church needs to come into it. The Church will come into it when souls begin to attain the nature of the “True”. You cannot worship here if you are not living, just like you need to have a living soul to be in Eden. There was a temple in Eden. If there was no temple, there would not have been an altar. But that altar was not the kind of altar built after the fall. It means there was a point of connection in Eden, and this is because there was a point of connection in the soul.
The whole of Eden is a place that can be called an altar, which can bring heaven. In that season, heaven—not the sky but the resting of glory—was not far from the earth. Adam did not need to speak in tongues for glory to rest. We speak in tongues so much because we do not yet understand the revelation of true worship. We are given the Holy Ghost to help us until we attain. The secret to true worship is the life of the Lamb. True worshippers are lambs who are worshipping God and the Lamb.
John 4:24
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
We begin to see the fulfilment of John 4 in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 21:22-23
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
In the book of Revelation, the City is a makeup of people who have been made true. The City is also a conglomery of lambs, otherwise the Lamb would not be in the midst. If the Lamb is in their midst, then it means they are all lambs. Revelation 21:22 makes it clear that there is no temple except the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb. The Lord God Almighty is also a Lamb. It means the Lamb and this Lamb (the Lord God Almighty)—the Holy and the Most Holy—constitute the temple. They are Beings that the true worshipers would worship in.
You do not worship outside the temple; instead, you go into the temple to worship. Therefore, you are caused to approach and worship in the Beings that constitute the temple. Men will be able to worship in Them because they have a connection with Them. The company of lambs that make up that City resonates with the Lamb. You cannot worship God and the Lamb when you do not have Their life. It would take this life to give you a sense of worship after the order of God being a Spirit. One needs a life that has been made true to be able to understand the sense of that worship. It means this worship is another kind of worship.
The Light that Lambs Use for Life
Revelation 21:22-23
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
It is clear that every other order of worship or coming has been cancelled and is no longer acceptable. However, you cannot be allowed to approach Them if you do not have Their life. To worship in Them, you have to have Their life. We need the temple and the light. If God and the Lamb are the Light of the City, and the City are also beings, it means what is called light is not just a shining.
Isaiah 60:19
“The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.”.
God wants this light to be seen amongst men. If we see the lights to obey in different epistles and scriptures at large, it means the things in the book of Revelation, which is also an epistle written in a unique manner, must also be done shortly without postponing it. The new heaven and earth that many want to go to are in a Being—the Lamb. The Lamb has the world to come as life. This means we can partake of the world to come here on earth by partaking of that life. Our bodies can be made spiritual, even in their current tangible state. The life that controls the world to come can be in us as a life that we are living out. God has been a dwelling place from everlasting to everlasting (Ps. 90:1-2). He dwelt in Himself before creation. He is everlasting and eternity. Nothing can outlast Him.
Genesis 1:3
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
The sun and the moon are the governing powers of the present, but there was a light before this world was created. Adam had this light and it was what empowered him to control the earth. We need illumination for civilization. Adam had a king of illumination. The sun and the moon also obeyed Joshua because there was a need to fight some gods who understood governing powers and the constellation. If Joshua could do that, Adam could control the whole earth with the light he had.
John 1:4
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
This is the original light that God intended for man to use, but it is not easy for man to access and use it. It can only be used by lambs. This is why God wants us to bring down the civilization of lambs.
Isaiah 60:19
“The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
The glory and light seen here is the same thing mentioned in Revelation 21. It was said that the glory of God did lighten the City, and the Lamb is the light thereof (Rev. 21:23). We see “the sun” and “the moon” in verse 19 not being needed for the manifestation of the light and glory amidst men (the City). So, it changed to “thy sun” and “thy moon” in verse 20 – “Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” (Isa. 60:20). When this happens amidst men, the Lord will not be able to withdraw or hide from this City. This is a glorious place to be. It is something we are expected to look for.
God does not want us to postpone this manifestation of light in our hearts; He wants this light to be seen amongst men. He wants to bring in this civilization of light by making these things a reality in our hearts.
2 Corinthians 6:16
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
His people are those that can use Him as life; He has become their life. Two things will make up the life of such men—temple and light. God will be their God and they shall be His people. They will be able to walk in the light of God by using the light of God. This earth will not expire until these things are done, so we should not postpone it anymore. The world to come is in the Lamb; it is a life that is in the Lamb, and this is the light originally meant for man. This light can be our civilization, meaning we have an understanding we are living by. They want us to live by this understanding now, not later.
Accessing the Life of the Lamb by the Spirit
The light of the Lamb is traceable. It is not esoteric or abstract; this is why you can trace it. When scriptures talk about fulfilling that which was written (John 19:28-30), we should know that it was put there for us and not just to show that scripture is historically accurate. We need to read such scriptures with an understanding that God wants us to fulfil what is written in scriptures.
God is not trying to prove anything to man. It is man that is often trying to prove a point; God has never proved anything. You are expected to believe what has been written. God does not appear to man’s reasoning; He appears to faith. Reasoning is too low, though to man, it seems higher than faith. Satan did this so that as man comes to God with reasoning, God will elude such a man. You cannot find God at the level of reasoning; it is by faith that you can find Him. Faith is a very high commodity before God.
Hebrews 11:3
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
It is by faith that we understand. This means our understanding comes by faith, not by reasoning. What stands is what God says. How Jesus fulfilled what is written in scriptures shows us that the life of the Lamb is traceable. We see how He fulfilled what was written concerning Him. Jesus did this, not by checking what was written and then going ahead to fulfil it; He accomplished it by the Spirit because scripture is spirit. Real scripture is spirit, not letter. It is a document of life.
Revelation 21:27
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.”
The Lamb has a book of life, and the life is traceable. When we read this, we think of our names being in the book of life for entrance into heaven. But to look for one's name in the Lamb’s book of life is to look for life. You have a part in it—your name which is written in it is the part you fulfilled. The Lamb's book of life is a volume (Heb. 10:7); it is a blood (life).
Jesus read the prophets to know what was written concerning Him. However, He was not tabulating them to fulfil them; He fulfilled them by the Spirit. He came by water and by blood (1 John 5:6), so He was doing water and blood. Another person that lived similarly was David. Some of the things he did were highly prophetic. It was David who began to tell us about Zion. He was the one that discovered Zion. The prophets later prophesied about Zion, but David already patterned his life after it. Zion, which was called the City of David, was like a meeting point where all the tribes gathered. Zion was a life he lived when he was running from Saul, when all manner of people gathered to him.
The twelve tribes had identity/culture, but Zion had another identity. So, they were called out from tribes, tongues, nations, people and made to live another kind of life. What you see in Zion is a blend of souls; the tribes become one. David was speaking of something he saw in the spirit, how he imported and instituted it and it became a life that people were living. They lived as a community of Zion in the physical at that time. They had a life they were living. Also, amongst them were men who were not from Israel. David saw Zion in the spirit and used the light; he understood the light, so he could import it and use it here on earth. God wants us to use that life; the life of the Lamb can be used here on earth. God wants the life of the Lamb to be used (lived out) here and now.
Psalm 48:12-14
“Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. [13] Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. [14] For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.”
Zion has places where light is communicated to men so that they can walk in the life of the City. The phrase “tell it” means to teach it; this is what is happening to us now. Men are expected to use the light of the City unto death. This means God does not just want lambs; He wants lambs that have been slain. The light (after obeying it) will make you end up as one who has been slain; this is the death (Rev. 12:11). We will swear allegiance to this light. Without the light of the Lamb, we will not be able to learn not to love our lives unto the death. When we use the light of the Lamb to live, we will fully deny our own lives to the point of death. These things are doable and should not be postponed; it is a life that God wants to teach and give us.
Revelation 21:22-23
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
Sunlight, moonlight and candlelight are the three lights that man uses; candlelight is artificial. But the Lamb is the civilization of the City; that is the life that men live out in the City. This manner of life is what the Lord is calling for in this season. We will begin to live the life of the City. Some people will come into the City by living out the light of the City; this is because the light can be used.
We must be aware of the light we are using to live. Is it the sunlight or moonlight, which is of the present? If we still stay with the present and use it, we are still keeping ourselves within the place where we will easily pass. This is because the sun and moon will pass, so one who uses them as life will also pass. God wants us to enter into another before they pass away, and this is so that we can endure.
Blessings!
