1. Dominion is spiritual, as it comes firstly from the realm of the spirit. People who go about dominion with guns and physical weapons lack understanding. Taking dominion by force is a beastly way of taking dominion. Nebuchadnezzar came about the advantage of ruling all men because he was a beast. He was a lion, had eagles wings and was lifted from the earth to stand as a man (Daniel 7:3-4). The eagle’s wing is a superior weapon that gave him a height advantage over common kingdoms. Nebuchadnezzar’s primary goal was not just to gather nations, he wanted worship. This is the same vision of most nations that are called super powers. These nations drain other nations to sustain their reign.
2. Nebuchadnezzar was not trying to build a house of bondage but a house of attraction for captivity, where men will want to belong. Nebuchadnezzar was the first person who actualised the intention of Cain. He knew that he was fortunate when he got Shadrack, Meshach, Abednego and Daniel; he knew that his kingdom would become superior on earth. No nation could come near Nebuchadnezzar to make war because of the glory and the wisdom of his nation. However, the nation became weakened when Nebuchadnezzar died because his son did not have his kind of posture. So, the nation fell and was given to another.
3. “And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.” (Daniel 7:5). This kingdom of the bear devoured much flesh to survive, unlike the first beast (lion) that only eats flesh when it is hungry. The third beast is a leopard, it kills even when it is not hungry (Daniel 7:6). The leopard is a flesh waster. It had four wings which are the wings of a fowl not of an eagle like the first beast. This means that these wings were not as developed as those of an eagle. It means that it will fly but not as high as those of the lion-eagle creature. The leopard is an animal with spots, it is an animal with more iniquity. No wonder God cut down the dominion of this beast. God did not allow it.
4. Another dominion came that did not have a lot of wisdom but had greater physical strength than the previous was the fourth kingdom. This fourth kingdom was the iron dominion and it was the Roman empire (Daniel 7:19). By the time this fourth dominion was coming, there was no visible Babylonish, Persian, or Medes kingdom. What was on ground was the Grecian kingdom and he just needed to stop or cripple Greece.
5. The iron reign started existing before the time of the birth of our Lord Jesus until after He died and resurrected. It was all in the reign of the Roman Empire and this continued until the kingdom morphed from a republic and became religious. That idea was first started by Constantinople who saw the vision of the cross, became a Christian and commanded all the nations to become Christians. It is from here that some things found their way into Christianity. That was a corruption. Even though the persecution of Christians stopped all over the world, Christianity was perverted by some people from the Roman arena.
6. The iron dominion broke and began to be iron mixed with clay. The phrase “iron mixed withclay” tells us that there was a compromise, and it came through the reign of a religious posture. Constantine was not really interested in wanting to be the head of any church, he just wanted Christianity, but the idea was hijacked by men. Then Rome was being weakened gradually from one stage to another until the dominion was completely scattered. The English nation was a catholic nation. Those who built London are Romans and they installed the church system there.
7. There is coming a dominion on earth that shall not be destroyed (Daniel 7:9-14). According to Daniel 2:34, a stone will be cut down without a hand that will destroy the image of the beast. This stone is the Son of man who will be brought before the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:13-14). This Son of man speaks of a body of the saints of the Most High (Daniel 7:17-18). So, the giving of the Kingdom to the Son of man is to the saints of the Most High. It means that our Lord Jesus will be revealed in these saints. This is the description of the kingly dimension of God’s kingdom (Daniel 7:18). The genetic of the king is special and it is God who has it. Satan has been giving a type of the kingly gene to men so that they can flow out the manifestation of his throne. However, believers must understand that the issue of God’s dominion has not ended. The Bible is a book of dominion, but flesh has not given a passage for God’s dominion to flow out. The way through which God’s dominion will come to a man was lost. There is no way man can come into the Christ kind of dominion which leads to God’s dominion without appreciating the revelation of Jesus Christ. The learning of dominion is the learning of the revelation of Christ.
8. Spiritual exercises like walking in love, obeying faith, hope and charity are dominion ethics. They are not religious postures or commitments but kingdom flow or lifestyle, to manifest Christ's kind of dominion. The revelation of Christ is an exposure to a law against the dominion of an angel who fell and corrupted his crown. It is the perverted crown of Lucifer that is flowing and finding expression in men. It is not enough to just be a Christian or to be born again. You are a saint even when you do not have the doctrine of Christ, but you are not perfected. There are two things that should be done to a saint via the fivefold ministry: the translation of the saints into Christ (or the perfecting of the saints) and the work of the ministry of glory or righteousness (Eph. 4:12). This is what is called ministry in the New Testament.
