Believers’  Convention 2021 (DAY 1 - Evening Session) - 1st Charge

Date: Sunday, 8th August, 2021

Speaker 1: Pastor Tope Falaye

It is evident in the scriptures that God’s intention is to lead us back to Eden. In the New Testament, the Lord promised those who overcome that they would eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God (Rev. 2:7). God planted a garden and put Adam in it with the intent that he would partake of the trees of that garden (Genesis 2:9,15). God’s original intent is that man should partake of Eternal Life; but man fell short of the hope of God.

God's counsels are eternal and nothing can hinder Him; He does not turn away from His intentions. This was why He went after man by sending Jesus Christ to deliver him. From the beginning, anyone who has the substance of the evil tree cannot partake of the Tree of Life. Adam could not partake of the Tree of Life because he had substances of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Thus, God drove him out of the garden and put angels to keep man from accessing the Tree of Life (Genesis 3:23-24). God put beings that would not make Adam locate the tree; but He also had a plan of redemption and began to plot the way for man to get back to the tree.

Faith makes one to hope for something (Titus 1:2). God needed to make a perfect sacrifice by His Son and began sending servants and prophets till the time of John the baptist. By doing so, He was sending forth His Word. Then the Word came in flesh (Jesus Christ), He grew and He began to lay the pattern for man to come back to Eden.

No one could lay the pattern because every man was dead in their spirit. God began teaching Jesus scriptures such that at the age of 12, He had great power of scriptures and could contend with doctors and lawyers of the law (Luke 2:42-47). Jesus grew and by the age of 30, He came to a high stature in the spirit. He was exactly like Adam was in the garden of Eden, but outgrew Adam in the spirit. He fulfilled the laws of the prophets and also fulfilled the ordinance that Adam fell short of, which were the ordinances of the garden - the ordinances of everlasting life.

God commanded Adam to eat of every tree in the garden (Genesis 2:15-17). Adam’s eating of every tree in the garden would lead to one tree -- the Tree of Life. If he ate the trees in the garden, he would ultimately be strengthened to eat of the Tree of Life.

Everlasting life precedes Eternal Life. A man would never lay hold of Eternal Life if he does not attain Everlasting Life. To many, this might seem esoteric but they are the truth of the Gospel. We are not following cunningly devised fables (2 Peter 1:16). Thoughts of the heart are being addressed by the Holy Ghost.

There is a righteousness that Jesus has (2 Peter 1:1). There are many faiths, but not all faith amounts to the faith of Christ. The faith of Christ can convert a soul to that of a true servant. Only when a man has the faith of Christ can he serve God righteously until he becomes holy. Faith, hope and charity pertains to Life. Faith that is precious would produce something that is of virtue and holiness in the soul.

Peter instructed the church that they should add to their faith all the things spelt out in 2 Peter 1:5-8. This is so that they would not be barren in the knowledge of the Lord. Peter had become a servant of the things for which he began instructing them about.

The realm of things everlasting is the realm of Eden and it has a commandment. The Lord wants to open doors in this convention. Convention is an opportunity for any soul that feels left out to partake of the emphasis of the Spirit. Adam just needed to obey the commandments of the ground he was standing on (Garden of Eden).

By the power of God, the servants of God are labouring and the door will be opened through teachings. By reason of the words that are coming, the servant of God has declared that the door has been opened.  This platform would make for an entrance into the body and much more, into our souls; the ground is full of everlasting encounters. Wisdom would come and a whole world of things everlasting would open up. Everlasting words, everlasting strength and everlasting angels are here. May we find grace to align so that we are not left out.

“Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” (Proverbs 22:28). Landmarks are doctrines discerned. People who do not have the discipline of the doctrine are the ones that go into error. There are landmarks and there are ancient landmarks. The first person who put an ancient landmark is the Father; He put the landmark of the things everlasting. Everlasting Life is a landmark God placed to access Him in Eternal Life.

The Father laid the pattern in the spirit and as Jesus was being raised, He laid the pattern in our Lord Jesus. One of the names of Jesus that was prophesied  of  in the Old Testament is "the Everlasting Father" (Isaiah 9:8). Jesus is our Father who also laid a landmark. It is fathers who lay landmarks. Jesus had the ancient landmarks in Him and He also laid it in the Apostles who also laid landmarks.

The ancient landmark does not shift by generation; it stays forever because it is everlasting. If we do not come into the ancient landmark, we would never overcome Satan. Satan is fighting and would not want any soul to come into Eternal Life, but we must also fight so that the intention of God for us to eat of the Tree of Life would be fulfilled (Rev. 2:7). If we do not come into ancientness by the doctrine of Everlasting Life, we would not be able to overcome the father of lies; and would fall short of the promise of the Tree of Life.
