Date: Wednesday, 11th August, 2021

Ministering: Pastor Clay Kama

Text: 1 John 1:1-7

We must understand how to do what we are hearing. The way God works in us all is different. As such, we should not try to implement the workings of God in another person in our lives, as it will be of no profit.

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth…” (1 John 1:6). The fellowship here brings one to a place where such a person can use a kind of life until it becomes his.

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life…” (1 John 1:1). It might be easy to hear the Word of life and speak it, but it is not easy to look upon it. Jesus did not just speak words; He also manifested the words He spoke (Acts 1:1).

The problem we face is in interpreting the record of Jesus’ life and translating it into fellowship. It is not just enough to see the life of Jesus; we must also look upon it. There is more to looking upon than just seeing; to look upon is to wait upon an expression of life. It can also mean to observe. Observation is putting into practice that which you are seeing.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Josh. 1:8). There is a way we can assume to do what God is saying without receiving a clear instruction on what He is saying. We should go back to these messages after this Convention and wait upon the Lord for clear instructions so we can gain life.

“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” (1 Tim. 4:15). We need wisdom to profit with these words that are coming to us (Prov. 17:24). “The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” (Ecc. 10:15). The reason we do not profit with these words coming to us is because of our foolishness. When sacrifices are offered well, our lives release an aroma that makes God pleased.

“Doth not wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice?” (Prov. 8:1). We need wisdom to prosper in life. Every manifestation of life is a product of wisdom.

“Blessed is the man that heareth me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, And shall obtain favour of the LORD.” (Prov. 8:34-35). We need to watch. To watch is to look and wait. When we find wisdom, we find life. The application of wisdom can also be described as prudence.

“For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. I wisdom dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge of witty inventions.” (Prov. 8:11-12). Prudence is the ability to govern oneself. God will supply the skill on how to be subject to the demand He is bringing forth this season. The wisdom of darkness informs us of the life called “sin”. Sin is a life and life is an expression of a kind of wisdom.

“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” (Jam. 3:13). The fact that one understands scriptures does not make such a person wise, for a wise person is one who can obey the scriptures. There are certain obediences that attract the attention of angels and all of heaven. Hence, we must concentrate while we are being taught so that we can find specific instructions for our lives.

There is a meekness on how to show a good conversation. In this season of everlasting words, not just only our actions will be judged but our intents will be judged too. God will not leave anyone alone until He has found out a person’s source of a conversation; and this is the place of judgement.

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth…” (1 John 1:6). If you say you have fellowship with the Father and still hold grudges, you are a liar. It is not about what people see but about doing what God has committed at this time well. Anyone who is not doing commandments well is not wise according to everlasting principles.

“This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” (Jam. 3:15). To be earthly is to employ natural wisdom to live. The sensual realm is the realm of feelings and emotions; it is also the area of human intelligence. Any form of wisdom that is not from God is nonsense and should not be used to live.

“And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears…” (Isa. 11:3). Everlasting Life is not the place of assumption. If God is not revealing it, you do not have any right to say it.

Prudence is the ability to handle situations around us. Natural wisdom and emotions cannot unravel what Satan is doing because it is a hidden work; but God is also doing a work in the secret that can combat the works of Satan.

The easiest way to invoke any deity is through sacrifices pleasing to that deity. However, in the New Testament, our sacrifices are obedience. Certain obediences are required to bring God down, even in one's family (Josh. 1:8).

As we practice this life, it becomes our normal life. Everlasting Life is the wisdom of God. Iniquity is designed against Everlasting Life; just as sin is designed against the Faith of the Son (Gal. 2:20). Faith is not just a means to get our desires met by God; much more, it is a course of life in the realm of the spirit that will undo the workings of sin in a man. Faith is the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:24), and a life package that we must agree to live by.

“To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God…” (Eph. 3:10). The manifold wisdom of God is Everlasting Life. To have a life that can last, you need the wisdom that can last. This lasting wisdom is the incorruptible wisdom. Life is wisdom and the doing of the word of God makes one wise.

God wrought redemption in wisdom and prudence (Prov. 8:12). God was careful when He put together the thesis of wisdom so we can operate in it and it can be ours. To hear wisdom is to be blessed; but we are more blessed when we do it. It is a man who has done what he has heard that is blessed indeed (Jam. 1:25).
