Ministering: Rev. Kayode Oyegoke
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” (Heb. 1:2, 4). Jesus qualified to receive the highest and most excellent name because He completely obtained the inheritance of the Father (1 Pet. 1:4). Jesus is the only Heir through whom all other heirs will come into their inheritance. There is no man who can directly come into inheritance from God except through our Lord Jesus Christ. God gave the full allotment of inheritance to Jesus, so He can then share it to/among us.
The inheritance is patented to our Lord Jesus. He was the Man who died and suffered in hell to receive the things of the inheritance in full (Philip. 2:8-9). He was the Man who was made sin (2 Cor. 5:21). If Jesus could take our sins, then He owns the inheritance. God has given the church to Jesus, to whom He will share the inheritance. Our Lord Jesus is the owner of the body (of Christ).
“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Heb. 1:14). Jesus is eagerly waiting for those who can handle the inheritance or inherit God with Him. God gave the right of ownership of this present creation to certain angels. Adam was a lesser authority in the share of heirship for this present creation. It was the authority of the earth that was given to Adam, not that of heavens (Psa. 8:4-6). He was given the right to oversee the earth. However, the whole of the things of this present creation is owned by those angels who belong to the height where Lucifer fell from. They are heirs of the present; and are therefore called angels of God.
Jesus was named according to what He became by inheritance. The inheritance is not just something that was placed in His hands. The inheritance speaks of His spiritual stature from head to toe. Angels are excellent in their operations but our Lord Jesus has been made more excellent than them. These angels are the highest creatures that our Jesus’ could be compared with after His resurrection. The excellent name of Jesus is a ministry. This tells us that ministry is all about the person of our Lord Jesus. This is why we minister Him.
Jesus became the brightness of God’s glory, and the express image of His person (Heb. 1:3). The phrase “brightness of God’s glory” means that He sheds God’s glory. Our Lord Jesus is the illuminator of God’s glory. This tells us that the angels who Jesus was compared with also have a kind of God’s glory and some kind of glory. They are not the exact of these things, but a copy of what Jesus became. This is why they also possess excellent names. God looked at Jesus as the Word in creating angels (John 1:3). Jesus have had the form of God from the foundation of the world, but God designed angels to look like Him. The present personality of Jesus was the original vision in God’s heart for what a man should look like. Our Lord Jesus is the exact expression of God.
“But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” (Heb. 1:8-9). The fellows here do not refer to the general church, but those who shall be heirs of salvation. Although, God intends that all His children will become fellows with Jesus, it is almost impossible. This is not because God lacks the power to bring it to pass but because some will not be willing to submit to God’s program. God has to seek for men who will be willing to go for this status of “fellows”; even in the face of the exaltations and status of present.
To go for the status of “fellows” is to go for the world to come. That sounds foolish because it means that you are seeking a world that has not appeared. The preaching and seeking of the things of the world to come won’t mean anything to a man who is earth bound in his thought and ways. It will take power for God to raise the heart of men to believe in it. It can only take mercy to journey to this point.
Those who will become “fellows” are those who will share in the inheritance with Jesus. Jesus will give them image; He will also give them the ability to explain God’s glory. They will be teachers, preachers, priests, or ministers of the person of God (Isa. 61:6). Being the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person is not a thing of favour to Jesus. Jesus as Logos or the Word was higher and better than His present position (John 1:1-3). Logos changed form from God to man in order to become the express image of God’s person and the brightness of His glory. Jesus had no form of a man in the eternal past, but He is now eternally trapped in human body as a man. In the eternal past, Jesus was in the form of God (Philipp. 2:6). He was not the image of God, He was God.
Adam’s image and likeness was not the express image of God but a shadow of God’s image. Angels’ image is not the express image of God; but they have a higher copy of that image than Adam. God photocopied His image and made the image of angels more real than that of man. God made the beings with better imagery to govern the heavens and left the lesser (man) to govern the earth. Whosoever will have the express of image of God like Jesus will have a share in the ownership of the world to come. Jesus has only come to the earth to teach us how man can become heirs of God.
The present position of Jesus is a sacrifice; it is an offering. Jesus offered Himself up to God through the Eternal Spirit (Heb. 9:14). Jesus could not become an offering to God when He was in the form of God as the Word.; just as the Holyghost cannot be offered to God. The Word (or Logos) had to condescend to a lower estate to become an offering to God. He made Himself of no reputation and took on the form of a man, which is the least form of a servant (Philipp. 2:7-8). Servants are creatures; they are angels or men. Creators are not servants but the Word decided to become a servant for the sake of man.
Jesus (who was in the form of God) came down from heaven and was made flesh (John 1:14). This is the gospel! No one should steal the eternal dimension of our Lord Jesus. Jesus was not a creature. Jesus was not the word that was spoken into existence; He was not an angel. Jesus was a being of eternity that came to the earth; He changed form and took on the form of a man.
If God gave the world to come to an heir who will share it among the rest of the heirs, then this present creation must have been given to an heir as well. The heir of this present creation is Michael, the archangel (Jude 1:9). The word angel in the book of Hebrews is not the name of angelic creatures, but the name of an operation. This angel refers to a messenger. So, Michael is the arch messenger.
Jesus’ fellows are His holy angels, whom He referred to “these my brethren” (Matt. 25:31-40). His brethren are His fellows. The use of the word “these” shows that they were there with Him. The word angel means messenger. If Jesus is the messenger of the covenant, then it means He is raising other messengers. “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.” (Matt. 25:42-43). These seasons of trials were the times when the brethren were being made into messengers.
Michael and his angels are the owners of the present world. Man was made a little lower than these angels (Heb. 2:7). The original translation of the word “angels” from the Old Testament rendition is Elohims (Psa. 8:5). This means that these angels are Elohims, although they are not the Elohim who is the Most High God. The word Elohim connotes ‘Judge’ according to the Chaldean tongue. This is the idea of Elohim according to the Chaldean tongues. This is consistent with the revelation of scriptures where God is referred to as the Judge of all.
God only judges among the gods (Psa. 82:1). These “gods” speak of heavenly beings who have access to God’s characteristics. It speaks of beings who have access to a type of God’s nature. The realm of judgement is where God is preparing saints to come into; it is the realm where we would take the heirship of God. It can only take an Elohim to relate with The Elohim.
Whosoever is in the ungodly state will not stand in the judgment of God (Psa. 1:5). It is only the godly that God will crown with judgement; they are the ones who are welcome to the Elohim (judge) dimension. They are brought into the Elohim confluence in order to be made a God. To make them a God is to make them think like God. This judgement here does not speak of the lake of fire, but a realm of reasoning reserved for a spiritual man. This godly man is the perfect man who alone can relate with judgement; this judgement is the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 2:6-7). The wisdom of Christ makes you godly while the wisdom of God makes you a God.
A godly man is an overcomer of the world who stands tall (over the world) to receive judgement (2 Pet. 1:3-4). This means that judgement is the gift of Life which begins with Everlasting life and ends in Eternal Life. You cannot beat a god unless you outsmart him in thinking. Satan is a being of judgement. Whosoever refuses godly exercise will not participate in the exercise of salvation. A godly man is a man who has denied world lusts and ungodliness (Titus 2:11-13). One attribute of such is that he or she will be sober. The world will never allow a man to be sober. Lack of sobriety is a disease and it is corruption. A sober man is a grave, calm and an unperturbed man. The world does not want any man to be calm; it puts a secret fire in every soul that makes men restless.
“Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.” (Isaiah 62:11). The leaves of the Tree of Life are the works that will produce the fruit -- which is the reward (Rev. 22:1-2). It is the leaves that produce the fruit. A man must experience healing through the leaves before he can eat the fruit of the Tree of Life. To heal all nations is to give them the Everlasting Gospel. The Everlasting Gospel is one that will destroy all the works of the devil in our souls. We will only be able to bear fruits after we have been healed or have finished the everlasting works. Everlasting works is the healing of the soul for Eternal Life. The Everlasting Gospel is a vaccination against corruption until a man cannot perish or go bad anymore. This gospel will remove things that cause us to go bad or decay.
We will walk very far in the Spirit beyond the reach of sicknesses. The authority of the angel that followed Israel in the wilderness did not allow anyone to fall sick. We are getting to a place where people won’t be falling sick. Let’s hasten into this dimension by seeking the light of God. The body is quickened as men do the everlasting works of God. The Israelites were not praying to God for healing in the wilderness, yet their health did not fail. We are coming into this kind of experience. The Church that was once mocked by the world is coming back to her glory.
