Believers' Convention (Day 5 Morning Session) - Speaker 1

Date: Thursday, 12th August 2021

Speaker 1: Pastor Dimeji Elugbadebo

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). The doctrine of Christ was given for closing the gap between man and the garden of Eden. The man God originally created and formed was a man of Everlasting Life. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven” (1 Cor. 15:47). In this scripture, man was referred to as earthy. An earthy man is an everlasting man; such a one is a living soul man with the responsibility of obeying the commands of Everlasting Life.

“God so loved the world” was an expression of the mercy of God to give the gift of Eternal Life to man (John 3:16, 1 John 2:25). An Eternal God cannot be seen and known because His realm of existence is not known and not bound by time. He dwells in an unapproachable light, which no man has seen or can see (1 Tim. 6:16). God made man out of His great love and mercies because He did not want to remain alone in His Eternal realm; He made man for companionship.

The realm of Everlasting Life is that of Fatherhood. Fathers pass genes, which are laws, unto their children. Children often act like their parents because of the laws that have been passed unto them. Likewise, the creation of man was borne out of God’s desire to see an expression of Himself, through the giving of His laws. The life that is in God is one that cannot be seen without it being expressed. The high thoughts of God are what brought about the creation of man.

The journey to Eden is the journey from flesh into the state of Adam, and then to God. In the realm of Everlasting Life, God reflects as a light. Light is the comprehension of Him being an Eternal God. Everlasting Life is God giving man life and nurturing him after the order of that life. Thus, by giving us Everlasting Life and its commandments, He first gives revelation. When this revelation is being seen and obeyed, the life is being cultured.

“And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” (Rev. 7:4). This speaks of men who had kept everlasting works. God was sealing completed works of Everlasting Life, approving them to have finished the season of the learning of God, that can be trapped in time.  The churches in the book of Revelation were churches in the Garden. What the Spirit is saying to the churches are the sayings of Everlasting Life. Everlasting Life should be used to overcome a blockage that prevents one from partaking of Eternal Life.

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." (Revelation 2:7). The tree of Life is the eternal and immortal tree. There were also everlasting trees in the Garden which Adam was meant to eat of, until he got to the tree in the midst of the Garden. Immortality is the giving of Eternal Life to the soul; and it will only be given to a soul that has Everlasting Life. Everlasting Life is the deleting of corruption in the soul. God will not give immortality to a soul that still has corruptible substances in it. Thus, the essence of Everlasting Life is to flush out those corruptible substances.

Everlasting Life ought to be the normal life for man. Man ought to be an incorruptible specie. The power to make a soul incorruptible is the power of Everlasting Life. We ought to use this power in our marriages, so that they can last. The love in our marriages should not diminish because the wisdom of incorruption has been supplied. Commandments come by the preaching of Everlasting Life; and as they come, we are to first obey the voice of the covenant, then the covenant is cut. It is when covenant is cut, it can be kept. If you do not keep the covenant, then you have not obeyed.

"Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine…" (Exo. 19:5). You cannot obey the voice of the covenant without having the heart of flesh. That is the heart that can hear the voice of the covenant and can attract Everlasting Life. When you obey the commandment, it is being written on the tablets of your heart. Keeping the covenant is keeping the commandment of Everlasting Life. The preaching of Everlasting Life brings the covenant to us. As we obey, we keep the covenant and we must keep it until we receive the reward.

“And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.” (Rev. 22:10) Seals are being opened to understand mysteries of Everlasting Life, to come into an Eternal God and to come into rest. The people of God are those who have rested in God. "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." (Rev. 22:14). The blessing of Everlasting Life comes to those who do His commandments. Commandments are instructions for living. You cannot have a right to the Tree of Life without Everlasting Life. God comes first by the revelation of Everlasting Life. Then He would come quickly to give reward to those who have Everlasting Life. May God find us faithful to keep the works of God and receive the reward.

Closing Charge by Rev. Kayode Oyegoke

"Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him." (Isaiah 62:11). This verse spells out what salvation is all about. God’s reward is with Him but His works go before Him. This means that the works come before the reward. God shows His mercy towards creation by manifesting Himself to them. The reason for this is to reveal Himself as the Everlasting Father.

Eternal Life is His reward that is with Him, while Everlasting Life refers to His works which are before Him. We must receive what is before Him before we can receive what is with Him. Works here are not external manifestations, as in, the works of His hands but works of Himself. As such, we can see God as a work and a reward.

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them." (Deut. 33:27). Everlasting arms are armories or dressings. The entire armor of God constitutes Him (Eph. 6:13). The Everlasting Father (God) is a weapon.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. [17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. [18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness…" (Rom. 1:16-18). The revelation of faith is given so that man can escape the wrath of God. It is given to man so that he will not remain in the estate where wrath can meet him. Anyone who has obeyed faith would have moved away from that estate into an estate of righteousness.

A time is coming when God will reveal the Gospel of Everlasting Life to the whole earth. This is because God has no right to judge the earth if He has not been revealed to everyone (Rom. 1:20). God will show man His Eternal Power and Godhead. The Godhead are Eternal life and their Eternal Power is underneath everlasting arms (Deut. 33:27). As such, the power of the Eternal God is the Living God.

Before God’s allocation can be brought to the earth and before man can understand God, he has to understand both states of God. He has to understand the Eternal Godhead and Their Power. The essence of this power is to access life; and this is what Christ who is the power of God will do to us (1Cor. 1:24). He is the Everlasting God and the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Rom. 16:26, Col. 2:9). Jesus is God’s body.

Eternal Life is a super work called reward and it is also a gift. However, we must first master Everlasting Life before we can understand Eternal Life. The purpose of this Convention is to introduce the Person of Everlasting Life to us.
