We are partaking of the former and latter rain this season because of the uniqueness of the harvest. We are at a junction where we are being tempted to get familiar with what we are hearing, but we must fight against every form of familiarity. It is great news in heaven that the Lord is making the incorruptible seed available to us. When scriptures about the end are being opened, it is comforting because the Godhead wants to see the world rolled away. We must also have this same desire so that we can internalise this truth.

“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” (1 Corinthians 10:11). This scripture makes it clear that the world has an end. The first person that was given the opportunity to see the end of the present world was Adam but he came short of it. It was our Lord Jesus, the last Adam (1 Corin. 15:45), who first saw the end of the world. The reason why Satan could not find his things in Jesus was because the wicked expression of the world had ceased to be a mystery to Jesus (John 14:30); Jesus had trapped a glory that was superior to the glory of this world.

The world is the fullness of the negative expression of everlasting life. To see the end of this world, we must receive and obey the engrafted word which is able to save our souls (James 1:21). This engrafted word is the incorruptible seed which our Lord Jesus trapped in His soul. Everything Jesus embodies is the conversation of the Father  (John 14:9). These are the formations that helped Him resist temptation and defeated the world.

We are meant to first journey to Christ, and after a while journey into everlasting life as Jesus did. The season of everlasting life will show those who are Christ's company their variableness or shadow of turning. It brings a higher light of everlasting life that shows them why it is unsafe to stay at the level of the lower light called Christ. This is what motivates them to turn and obey the demands of everlasting life.

“He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal” (John 12:25). What Jesus is saying here is that there is a life that is not the life of the soul but is present within the soul. Anyone who keeps this life will lose it because such a one will end up loving the world. Jesus was saying this because He had seen the end of the world, and He knew that man needs the installations of another life to come to the point where he can hate his life.

The absence of the ability to hate our lives makes us love our lives instead of surrendering them. The teaching of everlasting life is to prepare us to hate our lives. However, we must first be given the installation of the life in Christ to "hate the things that are in this world". It is after we have obeyed Christ and have His installation in our souls that we can be given the installation of everlasting life to "hate the world".

Some men have come to a place where they have accessed a feat in the spirit and their hearts have become good grounds. In other words, they have acquired a heart of flesh. This happened because they hated a portion of the life of sin and death in their souls. We can only hate the wrong life in our souls by wrestling with it. This can be done by "counting some things we have as dung" (Phil. 3:8).

“Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning” (1 John 2:7). Apostle John saw the end of darkness by obeying the new commandment. There are two expressions of darkness (Isa. 60:2). There is a darkness that those who are ignorant of the world are under. Some will use this darkness to a point where they are now able to relate with a higher darkness. This is how many will journey from sin and death till they start exploring hell and death (Rom. 8:2; Rev. 20:13-14).

A believer should use righteousness till he arrives in Christ to deal with the darkness of sin and death. When a believer does not repent of unrighteousness at the appearance of Jesus, such a one who should have inherited the life called Christ would now journey from unrighteousness to darkness (2 Corin. 6:14-15). It is those who journey in righteousness to the light called Christ who can now relate with the Father of lights (James 1:17). Such men are those who will become the sons and daughters of God (2 Corin. 6:18) because of what they have done with righteousness and peace.

Apostle John knew the new commandment and came into divine nature. It is with this nature that a man can now relate with the Godhead. When a generation is blessed with such a man who has come into the fellowship of the Father and the Son, they are blessed indeed. When God raises a witness of everlasting life in a generation, He has brought preservation to them.

"Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." (John 13:33-34). When Jesus was giving the new commandment of loving one another to the disciples, He had fully kept it. That was why He was instructing them to love one another as He had loved them.

“Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards. Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.” (John 13:36-37). Apostle Peter was able to see that Jesus had nothing about His life remaining in Him. He could see how Jesus used all the occasions that came His way to keep laying down His life. Jesus did not have sin and death but He needed to overcome hell and death by acquiring a divine nature. He overcame by obeying every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Father, and those obedience were death sentences (Matt 4:4).

“Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.” (1 John 2:8). This new commandment is that of everlasting life, and it had come the way of some men according to this scripture. John could also write this law to them because he had also partaken of this law. Moses became the law in the Old Testament because he fulfilled an obedience of righteousness, and that was how he had the meekness of the earth.

Apostle John had the meekness of heaven after obeying the new commandment. That was why he was writing with the authority of everlasting life; he was communicating the commandment of that life because he had done it and fetched the life as his own. He did the new commandment to the point where he had mastery of everlasting life. As such, darkness became a past tense to him (in his soul).

“He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.” (1 John 2:10). When a man gets to the point of abiding in light, the enemy has expired his final ability to tempt him. Such a man must have used many occasions to despise his life as he journeys through the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place. A man who is abiding in the light must continue to love and prefer his brother into the Most Holy Place. This is when you are using the light of the Father to love your brother.

“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” (James 1:14-15). Lust is a possession that everlasting sons need to overcome. Jesus got to a point where He was no more enticed because He did not have a nature that lust could cleave unto. However, many of us still have this nature of lust because it is a life we have not surrendered.

Jesus was the first person to complete His curriculum of everlasting life by overcoming lust in all forms. The reason lust will conceive in the souls of men is because we think of ourselves. This means we would need to starve lust by thinking of the things of our brethren. This is how God wants to break the cycle or gestation period of lust in us.

We ought to walk as Jesus walked. We are getting to a place where we will love our brothers and sisters as Jesus does. The best way to acquire everlasting life in this season is to relate with the imperfections or infirmities of your brothers and sisters. This season is not about your brother’s imperfection or inconsistent walk; it is about God using such situations to deal with the darkness in you. When you understand this, you will profit a lot. Those who will come to a place of embodying the life that the new commandment wants to give are those who will commit wholeheartedly to not despising the brethren, regardless of their infirmity.

We do not see our imperfections most times, but we are blessed if the Lord can shine His searchlight into our souls to reveal them. As we keep obeying and judging ourselves with the sayings of everlasting life, our dark places will be exposed. This is how we can come into the fellowship of the Father and the Son.

Blessings!
